Happy reelblend dayyyyyy!!! Knock at the Cabin is so frkn tense!!! This is peak Shymalan, and Bautista steals the show! Definitely gonna end being one of my favourites of the year!
Love it. M Night Shyamalan is excellent director and I feel he has to work 10 times harder to be taken seriously!. He has not been given credit for, especially for The Sixth Sense which really introduced innovative and new way of story telling. I love the fact that he writes original stories..even if it's from a book he will add his input which is very creative...the anticipation...the mystery.
I never abandoned the M Night Shyamalan train but the drop of quality after The Village was quite noticeable at the time. Some of the stuff he did in that middle stretch of his career felt like parodies of his perfect 4-film run. Glass was a disappointing follow up too but I do agree that I like where he is at now, he is still doing his thing, trying new ideas, making original stuff. And I think there's still a lot more good stuff left coming up, to be honest. I don't know if he can match his best films, but I'll be there hoping.
Love the DC-Studio slate, looks crazy! Hope to see 'Knock at the Cabin' this week, looking forward to it the trailer looks great and I am a big M. Night Fan!
And what everyone should appreciate about Gunn & Safran as leaders is how they work with talent. Gunn has said that Cavill was dicked around by former DC Leadership (spoiler he kinda was 😂). But even though he’s not gonna be Superman in this new era, they still called him, sat down for probably an hour and talked. They’re not over the phone or sending an e-mail leaders. They’re “let’s have lunch and talk” which is what you want when it comes to actors, writers, directors, etc.
Kevin mentions that potentially the voice actors from the animated DC shows/movies may show up as live-action versions of themselves in "The Flash". This already happened in the CW shows when Kevin Conroy of "Batman: The Animated Series" fame showed up as old-man Bruce Wayne in the big CW "Crisis on Infinite Worlds" crossover event. Sadly, he's no long with us and can't be part of "The Flash". But that got me thinking: wouldn't it be absolutely great if Mark Hamill showed up as The Joker?
I like the stillness, the quietness and the non flashiness of The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. All of his movies up until The Village falls under this. Dramas with a slice of genre. The Sixth Sense drama with a slice of horror. Unbreakable a drama with a slice of superhero genre. The scenes breathes and takes their time and the score is also quiet and perfect. Now I feels his movies are more about crazy camera movements and trying different stuff. They are more about the concept than the drama and the characters.
M. mentions having to bring sound effects down to avoid an "R" rating. I remember specifically he had to do that with the off-camera scream you hear in the woods in his film "The Village". Must have been one horrific scream!
Sorry Gabe, "Trimming the cast down" will not work for a Man from U.N.C.L.E. sequel. Illya is too integral to the franchise. But I would not be mad at all about recasting it, maybe with someone closer to David McCallum's original portrayal of the character in the 60's.
I actually disagree in them trying to get one actor to do live action, animated and video games. A lot of on camera actors are not very good voice actors, it’s a different form of acting and trainer voice actors are 100x better.

Right? The DC slate looks interesting as hell!

"I saw the Signs." C'mon people. What other weekly podcast gives you Ace of Base jokes?!?!

Fun fact, Paradise City was directed by the guy who directed Nightmare on Elm Street 3 lol
Well, actually, Gabe.
They're already making a live action Invincible. At the same time as the show lol

This DC confusion really puts into perspective how amazing Feige and Marvel are at putting pieces together for a cinematic universe.

Avatar is the movie 😂
