Wonderful demonstration for beginners. You do a great job in explaining the process without the unnecessary chatter that you see so much of in these types of videos. You stay on track and get right to the point. Thank you.
Great instructions! You seem to cover every circumstance. Can't wait to try out the decoupage paper by Redesign w/Prima, my first project was almost a disaster with the light-weight paper, looking forward to something a little more sturdy.
Thanks for watching! I’ve done a lot of decoupage before and I have to say this paper was the easiest paper to use, didn’t tear when I moved it, I was able to smooth out all the wrinkles, no bubbles. I hope you like it!
I’m new to your channel and I love it here I’ve learned so much in a short while because you’re so detailed about everything and I love that ! That piece is absolutely beautiful ! Needless to say I’m a new subscriber now I’m looking forward to seeing more of your creative ideas .
Hi Deanna! Beautiful piece, that paper is sooooooo gorgeous. I also love the fact that you used a regular ordinary sponge for wet distressing, I have never seen anyone use just a regular sponge. That piece would look gorgeous with some clear knobs...just beautiful. Thank you for the detailed instructions.
You did a beautiful piece here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and I wanted to tell you that I am a new subscriber because I like your content very much
Hi Deanna....I absolutely love this dresser, you did an amazing job on it, the color choice and paper look so nice together....Take care...stay safe...
You are a great teacher. I like how you answer the questions I am formulating in my mind!! Also you get to the project without a lot of pre-talk... Thanks!!
I just started following and so happy that I watched your video. You did such a great job teaching us noobs and I loved that floral pattern. I can't wait to order and try it. Thank you so much for teaching us.
Hello. I couldn't tell for sure & wanted to ask: Did you paint the drawer fronts with the mixed chalk paint or leave them with the stark white primer so the decoupage paper would show better?
So you wax before you put the transfer on? I would have waxed after..oops lol. So when i use the rub on transfer on my wooden spice rack, do i still wax before or after
Am I correct in thinking that you left the drawer fronts primed, until you be get a the decoupage process? You used no chalk paint or wax on them before they were decoupaged?
I love that blue! Love it! The detail on the leg is excellent. I haven't tried wet distressing as of yet but I love the no dust from sand, idea. Thanks for another great educational video. The flowers are very, very pretty. Cheers, Ivy.
@@DIYDEANNA Oh yeah, I will be for sure. I love the less dust. Love that. And I already have my soft and scruffier sponges on my work shelf. Haven't done a piece of furniture yet but two in mind. So fun. Cheers!
Absolutely 💯gorgeous 😍🤩 Amazing what you can do with old furniture! Planning on redoing a bunch of things in the house this winter after my son moves out. Will be saving this one, along with a few others! Keep it up, your doing awesome, inspiring work!🤩
Hi Deanna, I understand why you don’t want to put the handles back on, as you think they may detract.Have you thought about painting the handles with navy blue nail varnish that would blend in. Available at Dollar store?. I think assuming that the client will want to put the handles on themselves, could be an error?. Nail varnish is great for all metal handles (colour plus varnish combined). Hope his tip is useful LOL. PS, please can you say what you’re using? (suppliers name included slower and more often?
Hey Deanna, new subscriber here. I have a question: Why use wax instead of a Polyurethane finish? Is it simply to keep the finish matte (looking) and not "glossy"?
Mostly personal preference, they are both sealers but look and feel different. You’re correct, one main reason is the matte look of it. Thanks for subscribing 🙂
Excellent instructions and professional presentation. I would have liked a written brand/supply/source list in one place rather than verbal throughout the video. Even so, good job.
Although the paper you used is not my style, I appreciate what a great job you did. I could never have put paper on in that contorted way you had to stand so we could see what you were doing! ☺️☺️☺️ 👏👏👏👏 🥰🥰

I like chalk paint and decoupage. I'm not a fan of distressing, HOWEVER, this I like! I like the accent color showing beyound the primary color. That's adorable.
Love your videos very easy to understand can’t wait to try out the techniques that you show. I was just wondering if you thought about how you could maybe move your microphone you can hear you breathing and for some reason it’s really disruptive trying to listen to you with the breathing sounds that are going on. I know that’s kind of strange to point out but I love your videos. Just a kind suggestion
Doing this chalk painting for the first time,I applied the paint first then applied the dark wax with a bristle brush, now seeing that I might over did wax .I didn't wipe the dresser yet ,am I supposed wipe it down with a t shirt or can I use a electric buffer to polished this. Need your teaching to get through this the right way.
Just trying to help you here...you ask 2 things: am l to wipe down with a T shirt, OR use an e/ buffer to polish it? ask yourself what end result do l need from T shirt wipe down? 2nd: what result will buffing get me. *Being electrical, careful it maybe harsh at this stage. If not sure where you are at you work process, l would be very, very careful with buffing, it might take off a lot of your hard earned work. Try looking-up Deanne's other videos. I notice she's very good in explaining these process stages. I hope you get your answer, and enjoy you finished piece.
Your speaking pattern has gotten much better! I just watched your video of painting upholstery from 2 years ago and in that one, you were speaking like every sentence was a question? Speaking like that? Doesnt make you sound very assertive? I'm not sure what's a statement? And what's not? Anyways, vast improvement since then and its much more comfortable to listen to.
New subscriber. I love that you use Annie Sloan paint and wax. I love her products, they r the best quality. I’ve done this method many times and they look great. Her paint and wax holds up beautifully. Love how this turned out.
Wow ! the exact character of the blue emerging leg details resonates powerfully somehow with some remembered Chinese porcelain masterpiece so much so that ( a. ) it very closely resembles porcelain ( to my eyes ) and ( b. ) is now becoming a vehicle for displaying blue and white porcelain objects . Thought : what might happen if one were to access C.N.C. deeply carved furniture detail ❤ .
Pretty cool design and pattern, a vast improvement over how they look when bare and natural varnished wood, this is research for chalk painting my bed frame.. 😎
Also new to your channel. Loved what you did. I have tried chalk painting but you have shown me lot's of tips I wasn't aware of. I'm looking forward to more of your videos.
I’m not sure if it’s discontinued, they could have changed the page/link since I posted this. Maybe try searching under decor tissue paper or contact customer service. Hopefully they still have it!
I am new to your channel. Great video! Short and to the point and yet very detailed. I liked how you presented each step. I am not a big fan of the "distressed" look but I know it is very desirable. If it were me I would have added some sort of drawer pull. I understand why you didn't, though. That said, as a purchaser I would think I'd have to make a trip to the hardware store and that would annoy me. The dresser turned out beautifully. Hope you sold it for a great price. Thanks for your time in doing this video.
