Re: Wrinkles. They form because the paper fibers are absorbing moisture at different rates. Solution: Give your paper a light coat of your favorite clear coat spray. This encases the fibers, so the paper absorbs moisture/adhesive at the same rate and lays down flatter.
I’m reading this 3 months later but what type of clear coat spray? I’m not sure what you mean. I want to give myself every chance of success if I try this.
@@kathleenwalton3311 yes both sides. You're trying to isolate the fibers (top and bottom) from the moisture of the decoupage medium, glue, etc. Good luck.
I absolutely love this piece. You have given me inspiration now to decoupage instead of just general painting a piece. I am in the UK so hope that i can source some of the products that you have used. Thank you for sharing your work and techniques with us. Stay safe and stay well. Shirley from the UK. X
You are such a gift to us. I’ve bought my paint , decoupage and chest of drawers and have been watching so many paint and decoupage videos and you are by far the best out here on UA-cam. I just wanted to thank you for the lessons and you are so so very good at it. ❤️❤️❤️
But oh! It’s finished and it is so beautiful! I have watched many other furniture artist’s videos and your work blows the rest of them away. Love what you do!
Great tutorial! Thank you! And I appreciate your advice and feedback on product you used , I’m still learning and trying to choose a right and not expensive supplies
Gorgeous piece..Love the way you did this tutorial. Explained clearly, shown once, then moved on. You didn't make us watch you paint or affix every sheet of paper.Subscribed. Really beautiful work! Thank you
Looks beautiful Already. !!! SOOOO BEAUTIFUL. !WOW WOW.... the MOST BEAUTIFUL PEICE EVER. !!! I have never seen any other peice that comes close to this .
I think this was one of the very best transformation by paint and decoupage that I have seen after many months of watching many transformation videos. I just decided that if I truly want to be good at this sort of thing, I need to practice a lot, watch as many of your videos as I can, and just plain be brave and try the things that I don't think I can do.
You are an excellent teacher because you explain everythig clearly. I am just starting although I have worked in some form of art all my life but getting the precise explanations from you really does make a difference. Thank you.
That turned out amazing. I learned Ed to Decoupage from my mother. It really wasn't a thing in the 70s but she made us kids Collages of family photos and painted on our bedroom dressers. Kinda cool.
Just stunning!! At least from the photos you cannot even tell where the paper ends and where you free handed on the bottom. You are such a talented artist Brandy!
l always buy furniture to paint, but l have never decoupage anything that is until now. Thank you for teaching us how to do it you made it seem easy so l will be trying. l have subscribed to your channel to learn everything l can before l begin doing the lesson.
This video turned up in my feed tonight... The thumbnail caught my eye and I watched. And now I'm hooked! This is so unique and interesting and beautiful! Yeah I'm A new sub for sure! 😍
Its a beautiful piece brandy. I love the tip to paint around the decoupage paper. You can't tell at all. I also love the rusty milk jug behind you and am anxious to see what you do if anything
Stunning, Brandy! Great tutorial , especially for someone who has only tried small scale decoupage with paper napkins before! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕
This video is great, I’m getting ready to try this decopauging and this is encouraging thanks. Look forward to see what your doing to that milk can behind you!
When removing sticky paint stripper from a piece you are refinishing you can use TSP to remove it very easily. Do not use this method on laminated wood because it will dissolve the glue and your laminate will bubble. Take as much paint off as you can with your scraper. Give it another coat of stripper and wait a few minutes. Mix 1/2 cup of TSP in about 2 cups of very hot water. With a sponge or saturated cloth rub it generously over the treated surface. Most of it will come off easily and eliminate the stickiness. A piece of steel wool will remove the rest without rubbing depending of course on the thickness of the paint. Use rubber gloves of course. A plastic drop cloth would also be a good idea. This is also excellent for evening out the finish of a piece of furniture. It will readily remove old varnish on it's own. It's also an excellent option for getting detailed areas clean. You can use a brass brush or even a stiff toothbrush. Hope this helps. 🙂
That combination of paint and paper is exquisite! So elegant. You are a true artist. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Totally agree with you. This is gorgeous together.
You’re the female “Furniture Whisperer”! What a fabulous eye you have for furniture art. Plus, you just crack me up!
Haha, well thanks, I'll take it!
