- This EASY vanilla cupcake recipe will blow your mind! They are so moist and bursting with vanilla flavor, you just won't believe it! They're nothing like those dry ultra fluffy bakery cupcakes and believe it or not, out of all of the many desserts I make these simple vanilla cupcakes are the most requested treat among my circle of friends. These easy omemade vanilla cupcakes come together in just a few minutes but the flavor is out of this world.

Hi John. Since my grand daughter was 3 years old, we have been baking one of your recipes every weekend. It's our little project. She is now 4 and every time she visits, she asks «which one of John's recipe are we baking this week»? We are now making your easy vanilla cup cakes for her baby twin brothers' one year old birthday tomorrow. Too bad we can't send a picture! Thank you for your super videos. made it with 145g sugar instead of 200, used whole eggs, replaced sour cream with 30ml of milk, so good ,love it

He says that sour cream is an acid and needs to react to the baking soda though. If you didn't use sour cream, how did the cupcakes rise? Please answer as I don't have sour cream. Thank you

Oh, those look SOOO good! I might turn up the vanilla flavor by using vanilla sugar in the cake. If you ever have a recipe that asks to scrape a vanilla bean, don't throw the pod away, put it in a canister of sugar and the sugar will take on a vanilla flavor over time. It will likely clump more than regular sugar, so sift first, but it will absolutely boost the vanilla flavor!
Thanks for the tip! I almost bought some vanilla beans once upon a time, until I saw the price! If I ever buy one it will have to be an extra, extra, extra special occasion!
@@cherylrush3245 Depends on where you get them. I mean, obviously, they aren't an everyday food item, but making a batch of real vanilla ice cream or a cake, it's not that bad. Keeping the split vanilla pod in sugar gives it double duty, so even better value!

John, you made me remember! My mum used to make the very best vanilla buttercream frosting, but I never had her recipe. I'm more interested in baking now and have been trying to remember what she said about how she made it. This is it! And I remember her saying, it's very simple babe, you can make this! Oh it turned out lovely.. My kids and husband loved it... I used 2 whole eggs and goat butter and 140 grams of broun sugar.. And I chopped some dark chocolate... It is amazing...!
I made these yesterday and messed up. I only had enough butter to make the delicious frosting sooo…. for the cake, I used vegetable oil. I’m pretty sure I added too much oil. I added a full cup and it gave them a sort of greasy feel. Thankfully, my husband and kids will eat anything…..lol

I'm a terrible baker. My cakes and cupcakes always turn out dry and flat. These turned out fabulously!! I used 2 full eggs instead of egg whites. I absolutely love how easy these are to make.

Here’s my idea. A half depth muffin pan than makes a top and bottom cupcake of uniform size for a proper cupcake sandwich. I’ll split the profits on that with you when the royalties start coming. Wide and flat

That's a great idea! When I'm making cupcakes for my family, I will pull the cupcakes apart and put the icing in the middle since I know they're just going to make a sandwich anyways 😂 This way there's not as many crumbs dropped on the floor 😊

I have been on the hunt for a good cupcake recipe. I want to make better cupcakes, to the point where people talk about my cupcakes and ask me to bring them to events. I found a frosting I like but I’m still working on the cupcake. I will have to try your recipe!
I have a question for the icing can we split it in half 1 cup of soft butter and 3.5 cup of icing sugar or do we need the exact of amout for this recipe ? Thanks for answering this looks amazing and I'd like to make some for my sons classroom

Adding pecans in the batter won't absorb the liquid, but they will give your cupcakes a bit of a crunch.
