We lived in Ct. before moving to Florida. We’ve been to Essex quite a few times in the past and always thought how pretty and elegant Essex was then and even more so now. Please do more.

My personal idea of fine living is my memories of my taime spent in New England as a child, young adult and now an old woman. So much of my life has been influenced by what New England has to offer and of my family members who we visited. And so I find myself sitting quietly and going back in time with warm memories flooding through me. Thank you Linda for sparking those memories and making new ones as you take me along with you.

OMG! What a beautiful job you did at filming this video of Essex! Such a clean, lovely town. I want to visit there-better yet live there! But of course, am in love with Sugarwood too. Did I see Christmas trees in the Griswald Inn? Do they keep them up all year? Love it. So nice that Willow had a friend for a sleepover. TFS Linda, love your channel.

I am also from the Netherlands and i live in the Belgium Eifel, Battle of the Bulge area, 100km south of Maastricht. My house looks like such a white house with many windows in the front. I need to buy such a white fence to once. My house is from 1870 and the walls are full stone and 20" thick. And it his a slate stone roof with these big old plates. The bedroom doors are still the original ones.

Visiting small towns is such a relaxing getaway. Of course, the shopping, walking, exploring, and eating are such fun! My personal version of fine living…having my priorities in order…God, family, others, first. Then, trying to live a balanced life…enjoying gardening, cooking, and decorating. Living a comfortable life and cherishing what time we have. You give us such enjoyment watching your segments and demonstrate fine living as you and Ben make the best of your lives. Thank you, Linda!

What a treat! My husband and I had a sailboat in Essex for a couple of years long ago and my husband's family also had a boat back in the 50's and 60's there in Essex. My husband has fond memories as a child of running around the village and going to the movie theater which is currently the Talbot's where they saw the movie Psycho when it first came out! Beautiful town and hopefully we will be visiting it again sometime. We currently live in Virginia, but miss our New England roots.
My husband and I were at the inn this past Fall while on vacation. Wonderful food and such a lovely place. We enjoyed the town of Essex, and its history as well.
Linda, I’m very excited. We were in Ohio last weekend antique shopping and one of the things we bought was what was described as a wall cabinet from Seville Antiques. We removed our bedroom dresser mirror and replaced it with this cabinet. On your Essex trip, in you room was the cabinet top! I was so excited to see what it once was. Thank you Linda, it was one of my favorite videos…I’ll watch it again!
Oh how I miss New England. I’m trying to talk my husband into taking a trip back. Have been living in Tennessee now for 24 years but grew up in Litchfield county. The band stopped at 11:00 and the storm started at 11:04 😂. Sleep is such a gift and it’s so hard to come by.

It was such fun coming along to Connecticut with you and Ben. My daughter attended URI in Rhode Island and we fell in love with area and try to return whenever we can. In fact, we have painted many rooms in our home with New England inspired paint colors!

You were in my part of NE. I live only a couple of miles from Essex with its historic shipping history . And I know exactly the weekend you were here - that storm was a doozy! If you come to Essex in Feb, you can ride the river and see dozens of bald eagles nesting along the river. In recent years, the eagle population has ballooned after they discovered the riches of fishing the Connecticut River. Love Saybrook Home - it’s a feast for the eyes. Have spent many hours there, dreaming - bought my living room furniture there several years ago!
How wonderful about the Eagles! Yes the storm was crazy especially echoing over the water.

Linda, this is beautiful! I live 30 minutes away from Essex and would have bought you and Ben a drink! My husband and I love walking around Essex and stopping in to the shops and restaurants. So glad you enjoyed yourself. I wish you had better weather, but that's New England for you, as you know!

Well Linda, I have been enjoying catching up with your videos, as I found you recently. I think we are "kindred spirits". First, we had the daisy roll in common, if you remember, my mom made it as a boiled dinner. Then, I have lived in CT all my life and absolutely love Essex, The Griswald Inn and Old Saybrook. As a matter of fact, 3 rooms in my home are furnished with pieces that I got at the Saybrook Country Barn about 25 years ago! If you travel back there, the Aspen Restaurant, which is part of the Saybrook Barn has wonderful food. I love living in New England, love your beautiful home and look forward to your new videos!
