A "secret" from my Irish grandma..when pouring hot liquids into a glass or china cup, put a metal teaspoon in cup first, then pour the hot tea/coffee over the spoon. The metal diffuses the heat so glass/china cup doesnt crack or shatter.
My first time cooking a family meal I poured hot gravy into my new Pyrex bowl-- which promptly split in half …… now I try to put a spoon into the bottom of any bowl before pouring food inside.
Hi Linda - Here's a little tip, when my Christmas tree dries out, I take off lots of the needles and occasionally sprinkle some on the top of the woodstove. As they heat up, they scent the air beautifully. I call this "Vermont incense" (that's where I live,) but we can change that to "New England incense." Afterward I toss them in the stove and get a second blast of fragrance. Thank you for the lovely video.
Wonderful tip! Thanks! Even here in NW Texas' high desert prairie where AZ Cyprus trees thrive through the summer heat, I'm drawn to linger nearby them no matter what season, after a foggy morning or rain that seems to accelerate the pungent scent. I keep a few pruned limbs beside my firepit to add sparingly for a nice pleasant scent. I have a long limb that broke under heavy snow load recently, waiting to be processed. I love my little Stihl battery chain saw, because I can handle those little chores myself- and it's done to my specs.
Hi! I can only imagine how delightful that must smell. I too bought a little battery-operated chainsaw. It has helped with dozens of chores. This winter a couple of women down the street had some small trees come down and were lost as to what to do. When I heard about it I walked over and in under an hour had all the trees and branches removed. Be well!@@rt3box6tx74
Linda, I look forward to the scenery that you film every Sunday. That view out of your kitchen window is positively stunning, lucky you. Just a hint: If you put a silver knife or spoon into a glass for hot tea, the silver will absorb the heat from the water thereby stopping any glass cup from cracking. It was a trick of my grandmothers'.
The views are magnificent. I so love your window in the kitchen and the view with the morning sky and snow was spectacular. God’s beautiful landscapes are amazing. I love all your thrift/consignment finds. The orzo looks yummy!❤
I always chop up my Fraser Fir Christmas trees and toss the needles in my garden as a mulch. As they dry and I walk on them, they release that beautiful sweet piney scent for months. As always, I love your videos. The beautiful snow scenes are idyllic.
Lovely video. The snow falling and sunrise are beautiful. You are right, nothing like Mother nature painting our world. It is wonderful to rise early to enjoy what she gives us.
Dearest Lady, this video was so sweet and relaxing I finally finished it on the third attempt. I kept drifting off to sleep. I too awoke extremely early, so your soft pleasant voice was a special gift of another hour of rest for me today. Thank you! ❤
We are currently in the midst of a storm that started Friday and is expected to keep going until Monday. 80-100 cm in some parts of Nova Scotia. Made a big pot of seafood chowder to help us weather the storm, which we are enjoying with some homemade bread. I have the same kettle in red. Love it, especially the way I can hear its whistle no matter where I am in the house.
Good morning Linda… what a great all around video to watch on a Sunday morning. You are so much fun to watch, and I always learn something new. Thank you.💝
Good morning ! Oh,how I’m missing that beautiful white silence of a fresh snow fall. We are 30 miles north of Minnesota, without any snow this year, something pretty rare here. It feels like a long blah month of November. We have had a lot of upper 40’s and even 50’s.
Loved all the snowy scenes from your windows. Magical Mother Nature at work, however I don't want to see anymore snow in my area because I'm the one who does all the clearing and shoveling since my husband isn't well. Love the Bunny tablecloth! That will be beautiful on your big table with Easter/Spring table decor! If your Tiffany glass cup is only cracked at the top near the handle I would repurpose it for a vase (perhaps use a little clear glue on the inside just to stabilize the glass cracks first).....you wouldn't even notice the cracks when it's filled with fresh or dried arrangements.
I hate having to part with beautiful crystal wine glasses and highball glasses when they get a chip or crack. My last bathroom had a huge medicine cabinet over the sink, along with another large built in cabinet above the toilet. So I put a piece of scotch tape over the crack or chip for safety, then put all sorts of small categories in each, such as eye pencils, lipsticks,Bobby pins, tweezers, etc. Not only were they great because you could see what was inside, but it was also a fancy treat for the eye to open the door and be greeted by all of these pretty glasses. When we moved seven years ago and found that my bathroom has NO cabinet, (just an antique mirror) I put them all in my craft room to hold paint brushes, markers, etc.🙌🏻
Everything that you have is so beautiful. It is amazing what you can findthrifting! Thank you for sharing the beautiful snow for those of us who don’t get much snow during the winter. And be careful in that glass fronted cabinet in the kitchen. You know what happens when you put two rabbits together, you may come back next week, and your cabinet may be full of rabbits😂 🐰 🐇 🐰
LOL! You just brought back a childhood memory of going on vacation, leaving our two rabbits behind, and coming home to babies! I kept asking to to on vacation so that we would get more babies.
Linda, your on-camera presents and voiceovers have really improved! I've always enjoyed your channel, but you seem so much more relaxed. I certainly enjoy the time I spend with you. Thank you, and keep up the wonderful work you do for your kindred spirits!😊
You popped up in my feed. Your home is absolutely gorgeous. We had snow last month and it is so pretty. I love your paper hearts . I leave up a little tree to decorate for Valentines Day. I made little cream and pink hearts from baking soda and cornstarch. I love the glasses your friends gave you. You must entertain a lot. I don’t but I love beautiful things. We have three to five estate sales every weekend and the prices are top ridiculously low. Probably ninety percent of everything we own is from estate sales. Why pay full price when you don’t have to. Hello from WV. ❤❤❤❤
I’m 72 and I can’t remember many years my grandparents had a large garden in the country. When we would eat a tomato from the garden my grandma would take some of the seeds and put them each separated on a white piece of cloth till they dried, write name of tomato and then tied it up and save seeds to plant the next spring. It worked. We had a beautiful garden in which no weed dare to grow 😊.
Linda....this was such a great video. I love all of your consignment finds but I especially love the bunny tablecloth and I think you got the deal of the century! I also feel that it is so important to be grateful, even for something as simple as a beautiful morning sunrise. Today I am so grateful to see the beautiful sunshine and the blue skies! Thank you again for a lovely video ....and as I'm sure you know, I love to spend a small portion of my Sunday with you and the other kindred spirits!!
When it snows , it is magical You have the perfect site, Willow is so sweet, smart Your finds are wonderful I love bunnies, I even have a few around my home Your bulbs are coming along beautiful Happy Sunday Yum to your cooking
💐Happy Sunday, Miss Linda💐 Might I make a suggestion? I love the music you add to your videos. It brings them alive, and to another level! Could you, please, put the songs you use in the description box? I particularly love the one in this video, where you are outside at sunrise, and the birds are starting to come out and chirp; Timesamp 33:49 😊 Thank you, Kindred Spirit💞💐 🌲Washington State
Thank you Linda for another inspiring, lovely video ✨ I absolutely loved the view from your kitchen window at the beginning of this video. Somewhat jealous that you have snow, it is dry and almost springlike here in Michigan. God Bless and have a great week!
Hi, Linds! The snow was beautiful. I, too, turn off the lights and sometimes even open the window momentarily to hear it fall, loving the quiet. Turned on Vivaldi, and just made garlic vinegar: put several cloves in the bottom of a cobalt blue bottle, then filled it with white vinegar. Just set it out so l can remember to shake it every so often. After 3 weeks, -you'll know by the smell!- it's ready. So great for salads, pasta, and to marinate meats. Thanks for the video, and keep warm! 🔥
Wow, magnificent view of your snowy surroundings. For those of us who live in the big city, the snow is like a picture postcard. Loved your thrift finds. You sure are able to find quality and worthwhile items. I look forward and enjoy your weekly videos. Thank you for sharing.
Linda, your property is so beautiful inside and out. I sooo enjoy the gorgeous views through your windows whether it be the falling snow, the sunrise or a very colorful sunset !! Boy, I totally agree that mother nature is really amazing! I get a nice view of the sunsets and I am in awe of the beautiful colors and different shades each night !! Thank you again Linda for another heart warming video !! P.S. YOU MADE ME HUNGRY !!
Linda, thank you for another enjoyable video. Your youtube channel is my favorite. You provide such an interesting collection of content, and your presentation appeals to all the senses. I loved the scenes outdoors in the snow. Your filming is so professional. Your music selections are engaging, and I could almost smell and taste your cooking based on the inviting way you describe the process. Looking forward to next week's video. God bless your "kindred spirit". Robert.
Seeing your beautiful setting made me miss my old home in eastern Nebraska. I had a beautiful backyard view of an open field leading to a tree line along a creek. When the sun set colors spilled across the snowy field it was glorious to stand and absorb into my heart. I now live in Northwest Arkansas where we had snow for a few days. However the home I now own is inside the city and my backyard view is of my 6 foot privacy fence. Thank you for sharing all of your views and your treasures.
Thank you for reminding me why I tackle a heavy load of landscaping each summer to stay on my 4 acre, country parcel with nearest neighbor a half mile away. I sometimes need to be reminded why I do all this work. The glorious view from my front porch is of a lovely prairie grass pasture that rolls away toward a draw that's dry unless we have a rare rain of more than four inches. The sunrises often draw me out to make photos and linger even on cold mornings. I can't imagine giving it up for a privacy fence.
I live in southern Ontario , Canada and have to say you have way more snow than us , as I write this we have zero snow on the ground and are above zero in temperature . Love watching your video's , so thanks .
Hi Linda, I love Ironstone but haven’t had any luck finding any thrifting. I live in Canada. I started a milk glass collection instead and have found some great thrifted pieces. I believe the Ironstone dish you found is from the Prairie collection. Some pieces had wheat on them but yours has a closed poppy bud. It is beautiful. Great find. ❤️ 🙈 thank goodness for edit button. This kindred spirit is also dyslexic and realized how many errors I had. 😂
Such an enjoyable episode! Love too how the snow muffles noise. Thank you too for editing in directions. It is one thing to hear you say the steps yet wonderful to have the readable backup!
I’m surprised at not seeing a Mackenzie Child / courtly check Tea Pot in your Kitchen. Love your idea of adding the branches with your paper whites. I can’t remember, what are the names of the few paper whites, that ( Don’t) stink, but, actually have a nice fragrance.Thank you once again Linda, for an informative, but,oh so relaxing video🥰
Love your videos! Your scenes of snow are so beautiful! We don't get that in south Louisiana! LOL! Good luck with the Smith search! I'm "into" genealogy and will be going to Nova Scotia in August! I DO have a line of Smith's in my family. Please let us know your findings!!!!
Morning Linda, so love "going back home to New England" through your videos. This morning was especially beautiful with the snow. Thank you. Loved all the new finds and cooking. Does the picture above the stove not get damaged with heat, splatter etc.? Can't wait to try your Orzo and look for the books. Have a wonderful peaceful day. Thank you again.
Hi Joyce, The picture does not get damaged. It's on year 5 or 6 of being behind a stove. If I were to use the back burners for anything high heat or something that might splatter, it easily comes off of a hook.
I use nutritional yeast a lot bc I don't consume animal products and it does have a good amount of B12. I thought your orzo looked delicious. Linda, your videos are perfection! Your house styling is classy, warm, inviting.. your wit just makes my day. 😊🥰
I went out to feed the animals and it was a wonderland of frost on everything here in the country! I had to come in and get my camera. I love all of your peaceful pictures of your property showing the seasons. Thank you for this nice video. It makes me feel like I have gone to see a friend and am catching up with her on what she has been doing. Have a good week!
Linda, I am feeling a little under the weather today, your video with a cup of herbal tea was just what I needed. The view from your kitchen window was breath taking. When we added an addition to the back of our house in 1998, we added lots of windows and a French door to enjoy the view. We had 2 spotlights added to the back of the house, just to enjoy the view of falling snow at night. I love to watch it like you do. Have a great Sunday and I am looking forward to the vanilla!! 💗
Hi Linda, loved the intro and watching the snow fall!! Please do an entire video of that!! Also, to keep glass tea cups from cracking, just put a metal spoon in the cup when you pour in the hot water. Since I learned this, I’ve never had a glass cup crack. Thanks for all your videos!!!❤
Thank you for sharing the quiet beauty of snowfall. It's one of my Winter joys. I live in middle Tennessee and we don't get snow often. Last month, however, we had seven inches of powdery snow. It was magical. I collect glass stoppers, too! Good thing because I moved in June...and still haven't found the stoppers to two crystal decanters (that had the original stoppers). I'm off to the market to buy artichokes to dry! Thank you for all that you share!! Have a wonderful week.
Beautiful winter season so breath taking cherish that time and hear the hush in the air .The falling snow so tranquil .Love the candle sticks on the table was hoping that was one of your finds for discussion .🤍
Love the paper whites in the basket with twigs-perfect woodsy combination! And the scene thru the window with the peach colored sky is beautiful. It could be made into a card.
Looking out those windows with that beautiful snow, that beautiful sky, is so very peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I love the Butler ball. My aunt had one and I’m not sure who got it in her estate. I would love to have it and put it in my formal dining room…thank you for reminding me of it…♥️🙏🏼🌹
Linda, I really enjoyed your long video and the snow coming down was awesome!!❄️. Looking forward to seeing you next time from your friend in Athens Georgia 😃
The snow was so beautiful early that morning, especially on your property, just gorgeous. Looking forward to the Vanilla for baking upcoming family birthday cakes throughout this year. Have a wonderful week❤
The copper lit up your complexion. Copper goes so well with Good Queen Bess. Lovely to use as a charger under candle hurricanes. Love the extra reflective quality.
I actually just put the whole stack under the center candle piece because I was enjoying the color here in the kitchen with good queen best. You have a great eye!
Sitting here this morning with my cup of coffee in California wishing I could experience just one morning of falling snow! It looks magical.... especially that kitchen window view early on the morning! Like living in a movie. Love the idea of drying artichokes, and will give it a try. but when you were showing them I noticed that huge jar of pecans. How can you use them all before they go bad? The orzo/risotto looked delicious. Living alone I don't always take the time for recipes like this.... so boy, was I happy when grocery shopping, I found a bag of frozen green bean and mushroom risotto in the frozen food section!!! I just added a little butter, fresh parmesan... and a basil parmesan EVOO drizzle. Absolutely delicious topped with a soy glazed piece of salmon. Easy peezy!
I look forward to your videos all week. Love your thrifted treasures, and i believe i am going to start displaying my bunny items this week for Spring as well.
Thanks great video ,if you put a silver spoon in glass either mug or pitcher,it conducts the heat and keeps it from cracking. We all need to take more MOMENTS and be Thankful and Present. 🌿🍃
I loved everything about this video! The snow scenes were just beautiful and that sunrise spectacular!! Plus I always love seeing what you are doing around your home. You did get some terrific deals thrifing and at the consignment store! Thanks, Linda, for the great video!
Good morning Linda. The snowstorm was beautiful. Love the copper chargers. What you could do with the worn area on your blazer is pin a beautiful brooch.
As always, another fabulous video that made my day🙂. Thank you for taking time to create a longer one and to include such peaceful scenery, and especially Willow in the snow🐶. Reminded me of the Scottie Terrier I used to have and how she loved romping in it❄️. Looking forward to whatever you share about the voice and other happenings. My father was a funeral director and I grew up living in a funeral home for several years. . I have a couple of stories myself 🙂.
Just beautiful and wondrous video. Loved the sunrises and snowfalls. Looked like a wonderland. Ths visit with you is always a favorite Sunday gift. Enjoy your week💙🙏💙
Definitely going to try your orzo maybe with a few more mushrooms. I like when you're the experimental cook. I often venture in that direction myself. Definitely going to try that nutritional yeast since I like adding nutty flavor without the actual calories of the nurs.
Another wonderful video. I love the snow falling, willow running through the snow and your thrifty finds. I had never heard of a butler's ball before!!
Loving your Le Creuset tea kettle! It's like jewelry for your stove. The morning after a snow fall is quite picturesque. I look forward to your videos every Sunday. It's time I set aside to enjoy with a cup of tea. Cheers!
Happy Sunday Linda, you always make such nice introductions to your videos. I find such relaxing feelings in watching the snow fall and walk in it. I love thrifting, thanks. I also love thrifting clothing and I find some very nice items. Living in the moments build lasting memories.
A "secret" from my Irish grandma..when pouring hot liquids into a glass or china cup, put a metal teaspoon in cup first, then pour the hot tea/coffee over the spoon. The metal diffuses the heat so glass/china cup doesnt crack or shatter.
Here's hoping I remember that. I was told years before and totally forgot. ugh
My first time cooking a family meal I poured hot gravy into my new Pyrex bowl-- which promptly split in half …… now I try to put a spoon into the bottom of any bowl before pouring food inside.
The snowy intro was so beautiful and Willow running through the snow with her orange jacket was the icing on the cake!

I'm so glad! Thank you for joining me this morning!
Willow running happily through the snow is my new morning mood 🤩
Linda, I look forward to the scenery that you film every Sunday. That view out of your kitchen window is positively stunning, lucky you.
Just a hint: If you put a silver knife or spoon into a glass for hot tea, the silver will absorb the heat from the water thereby stopping any glass cup from cracking. It was a trick of my grandmothers'.
Yes I know that also .If you put a metal spoon or a fork even it will absorb the heat and it won't crack the glass.
Linda, you really do live in a winter wonderland!❤ Beautiful
From one who lives in Fl and never get to see the snow , it’s beautiful and magical
The views are magnificent. I so love your window in the kitchen and the view with the morning sky and snow was spectacular. God’s beautiful landscapes are amazing. I love all your thrift/consignment finds. The orzo looks yummy!❤
The view out your kitchen window in the early morning reminds me of a Christmas card. Lovely ❤
The quietness of a fresh snowfall is always beautiful and peaceful.

I live on 121 acres in the mountains of Southern Oregon surrounded by massive size Christmas trees…… it is so beautiful we have snow too ❤
It must be beautiful! I was surprised the snow stuck on the trees for days.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, the peacefulness of a snowy day, and God’s beautiful creation! Have a wonderful week!
We haven't had snow like that since 2010 here in North England!
It's so wonderful to see , thank you for sharing xx
You're welcome! At least we have not gotten the several feet of snow (yet) like we can get.
This is the coziest thing ever ❤❤❤

I can’t remember,what are the names of the few paper whites,that ( Don’t) stink,but,actually have a nice fragrance.Thank you once again Linda,for an informative,but,oh so relaxing video🥰
Me too! I love it in homes I've seen it in, but have yet to try it in my own home.
Enjoy your trip! If we did not already discuss this in the past, what area is your Smith line from?
From what I have been able to research, my Smith line is from Halifax County, Virginia.

What a lovely video to enjoy on Sunday morning.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for visiting.
I bought Antiques for the table when it was first published from a bookstore on Cape Cod. Great book~ ☺️ enjoy
I use nutritional yeast a lot bc I don't consume animal products and it does have a good amount of B12. I thought your orzo looked delicious. Linda, your videos are perfection! Your house styling is classy, warm, inviting.. your wit just makes my day. 😊🥰
Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching!
Thank you! I hope I remember that!
Thank you for the reminder. I forgot to do that and cracked one of my vintage glass mugs.
Those were purchased at a Christmas Tree Shop a few years back.
Excellent way to spend a snow day. At the beginning of the video it looked like Willow was making a walking pathway in the snow for you-- so adorable!
Love the snowy intro!
Love the paper whites in the basket with twigs-perfect woodsy combination! And the scene thru the window with the peach colored sky is beautiful. It could be made into a card.
Such gorgeous scenery! I love this visit so much. Your home is so beautiful and charming. 😃
Thank you for visiting!
Linda, You accessed the most Beautiful part of the day, early morning, so scared , calming and peaceful. Thank you for this!🦋
Thank you for joining me today Audrey!
A wonderful benefit of large amounts of snow. .....It makes the mundane beautiful
Looking out those windows with that beautiful snow, that beautiful sky, is so very peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I love the Butler ball. My aunt had one and I’m not sure who got it in her estate. I would love to have it and put it in my formal dining room…thank you for reminding me of it…♥️🙏🏼🌹
It is amazing ! So beautiful to see the snow falling down so peaceful! Thanks so much for sharing with us! Have a nice sunday Linda❤
Thanks you for visiting!
Linda, I really enjoyed your long video and the snow coming down was awesome!!❄️. Looking forward to seeing you next time from your friend in Athens Georgia 😃
20:18 can you share the footage/clip? (Maybe at the end of another video?) How spooky!
The snow was so beautiful early that morning, especially on your property, just gorgeous. Looking forward to the Vanilla for baking upcoming family birthday cakes throughout this year. Have a wonderful week❤
A butlers ball? Genius! I would love to live in the country or have some land. Waking up in the suburbs is not ideal. Waking up at all, priceless 😅❤
LOL. One of my grateful comments in the morning when I wake. Grateful LOL
Such a perfectly enjoyable video. Thank you Linda ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Easy peezy!
I so look forward to your Sunday postings...grab a cup of coffee and I'm in heaven!
Lovely video with the snow falling and I just love thrifting like you do. So much fun and so sensible!
Thank you for a beautiful and thoughtful video ❤ I enjoyed it all!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Hi Linda, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing!!!
I look forward to your videos all week. Love your thrifted treasures, and i believe i am going to start displaying my bunny items this week for Spring as well.
Wow! What a beautiful sunset! And how beautiful your back yard looks with all the snow!❤
Thanks great video ,if you put a silver spoon in glass either mug or pitcher,it conducts the heat and keeps it from cracking. We all need to take more MOMENTS and be Thankful and Present. 🌿🍃
Great tip! Thank you!
I loved everything about this video! The snow scenes were just beautiful and that sunrise spectacular!! Plus I always love seeing what you are doing around your home. You did get some terrific deals thrifing and at the consignment store! Thanks, Linda, for the great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good morning Linda. The snowstorm was beautiful. Love the copper chargers. What you could do with the worn area on your blazer is pin a beautiful brooch.
Great idea! If it was another area, I thought a fun patch, like a crest would work, but it's on the upper part of the sleeve.
@@newenglandfineliving if you see pictures of Queen Elizabeth, she always placed her brooches higher then I usually wore one. ❤
I loved your paper hearts!
That glass that broke , could be used as a vase: I love simple glass vases : ty for video!
Genealogy results will be exciting. My husband's a descendant of William Wentworth who established the settlement of Exeter NH.
Stay warm ❄️
Trouble sleeping also. I started taking Magnesium gummies 270mg, one at 7pm. It really helps. Love all your thrift store finds.
I always enjoy your videos. I would love to see more of your Amazon finds. Thank you for sharing your time with us. Blessings
Thank you so much!
What a winter Wonderland! Thank you for sharing.
Loving your Le Creuset tea kettle! It's like jewelry for your stove. The morning after a snow fall is quite picturesque. I look forward to your videos every Sunday. It's time I set aside to enjoy with a cup of
tea. Cheers!
Linda, I always love your thrifting videos. So enjoyable. And oh! the morning view from your kitchen window!! What a way to start the day!
Linda, I get soooo much inspiration from your videos, thanks for sharing and please keep them coming!!!! 😊 😊
That view is everything! 🧡🤍🕊️
Thank you, Linda. Love the longer video! Enjoying them very much.
I'm glad you like them!
Happy Sunday Linda, you always make such nice introductions to your videos. I find such relaxing feelings in watching the snow fall and walk in it. I love thrifting, thanks. I also love thrifting clothing and I find some very nice items. Living in the moments build lasting memories.
The candle holder with the deer is fabulous! Love❤
So beautiful, love the landscape and seeing willow enjoying the snow, you are such an inspiration to me and so many people.
