I went to Vietnam in 1970, i had no real Girlfriend to talk about then, that was the way I wanted it. I came home a few times, {did two tours to that country}. Six months after i got out, i met a girl and told a friend of mine i was going to marry her, 6 months later we got engaged and three months late we got married, now together 52 years and still going. I hope i can make it many more, if the good Lord will allow me. I now suffer from Agent Orange, had a massive heart attack and have an Aneurysm on the heart today, so i am living on borrowed time i guess you would say. If I had to do it again, even knowing what i know today of what the Gov't did to us over there, i would still do it all again.

This was one of mine and my wife's favorite song. We were married 53 years and 5 days when God called her home. I met her in 1956 when she was 14, We were Married in 1958, She was 16 and I was 19. We were told a hundred times, we were to young and it would not last. It sure didn't last long enough. But my love continues on.

Such a perfect song for couples. I used to play this video to my husband Lee. He was in London, I was in Montana. He never liked it because it was country western, while I just adored it. It remains a mystery to me that Vince gave up his first wife (she was part of the Dixie Chicks) to go marry Amy Grant. I only hoped that it all worked out. But he wrote the perfect song for couples.

This was played at my mums funeral 2 years ago, chosen by my dad and I made a slideshow to play with it. Photos of her life from young to older including beautiful memories she shared with my dad. They were together nearly 50 years, had 8 daughters, 13 grandkids and 1 great-grandchild. My mum was the heart of the family that everyone turned to. She was so beautiful inside and out, had the biggest kindest and most selfless heart. She’d give you her last penny and put others first even if it meant she suffered. She was down to earth, friendly and had a cheeky sense of humour. I miss her more every day, a mother’s love is like no other. There will always be a void and I will always need her but I know she is near by. I never usually bother writing comments on UA-cam especially ones like this but I feel better somehow knowing that whoever reads this knows that she existed on this earth, that she mattered…that she won’t be forgotten and will be kept alive somehow every time someone reads this ❤️

I used to play this song for my husband because no matter what we went through in life our love was a bond that couldn't be broken until 6 months ago when our Lord called him home. This is was my wedding song and my daughter is having it as her first dance when she finally gets married on a months time after having to cancel twice due to covid, perfect 😍
My wife of over a half century and I loved this song over the years it just felt like it was written about us. I fell in love with her the first time I saw that beautiful little blonde haired, blue eyed girl walking up the stairs from her 3rd grade class room back in 1958. I was in the 4th grade and she walked right up to me in the hallway and started talking to me. My knees got weak and my heart was pounding and I was so nervous as we talked I was afraid of making a fool out of myself. It was love at first sight and no matter what anyone says it can happen at any age. I worshipped the very ground she walked on forever afterwards. That was the happiest day of my life and the best memory until that summer day in 1967 when she married me which was even better. We had 4 great children 2 boys and 2 girls. We went thought some rough times when our 2 daughters were killed. We had each other to lean on and we survived it but never got over it. I thought there could never be anything on earth that could happen as bad as that but I was very very wrong. My beautiful wife died last year after a 2 year battle with cancer. I sat and slept in a recliner by her beside during the whole time never leaving her side except to go to the pharmacy to get her medicine because she would panic if she woke up and I wasn't there. We were never apart in over 50 years but for a total of 12 days back in March of 1985. We did everything together we were soul mates for ever. Then I watched her suffer unmercifully for 2 years from that damn bone cancer and die and we prayed and cried together everyday of those 2 years. Her last night on earth I went to the cabinet at 1:30 in the morning to get her pain meds and she called out to me and said "sweetheart I think I'm having another one of my attacks" she was speaking of a panic attack where she would start shaking uncontrollable all over. I could usually put my arms around her and hold her tight and it would calm her down in a few minutes. This time by the time I got back to her bedside she never spoke another word. I went crazy and was trying to revive her before the ambulance arrived and as I was holding her in my arms she had a massive stroke and died. That was 6 months ago yesterday. The morning she died I wound up in the hospital by evening. I had gotten light headed and could hardly walk without holding on to something so I went to a clinic and the doctor sent me straight to the emergency room. They found a 100 percent blockage in the main artery called the widow maker artery in my heart but that wasn't the whole problem. My heart had already rerouted blood though smaller veins around the blockage over time but i had a rupture and a blood clot that they said happened from the the traumatic event of my wife dying that morning. I asked how was it possible that I lived though that and the doc said it just wasn't your time to go. They made the repairs to my heart the part that can be fixed by doctors but not the part that has those feelings. People tell me that things will get better in time but that's not true. They continue to get worse everyday. She made me promise her before she died that I would not do something terrible to myself when she was gone. She knew what I was thinking because that's how much she loved me to and I have no desire to continue living without her. I wished I had never went to the hospital with my heart problem now. I always thought when I heard of someone dying of a broken heart that it was just a saying but I found out it's true a heart can explode when a loved one dies. Mine did when it ruptured the artery and caused the blood clot. There's nothing on earth that can hurt as much. I can't listen to this song anymore because it kills me and I'm having a hard time typing this right now. I can't talk to anyone because I end up sounding like a blubbering fool when I try. I haven't slept in 4 days now because I've used up all my prescription of Ambien sleeping pills since it takes more and more of them to knock me out anymore. How do people move on? How on earth can someone think of finding someone else after all those years. If there is a heaven how terrible it would be to see my wife again knowing that she knew I had found someone else on earth after she was gone?? I don't know why I'm telling this but it's easier than trying to talk about it. Probably nobody reads these things anyway so I guess what difference does it make. It's after 2 in the morning so what else do I have to do? Sorry to have rambled on.
My friend. Please know that your wife is safe, well and happy. Her love for you only grows in Heaven because she is with Jesus who comforts her longing for you. You will be with her soon, don't worry - but on God's time. Remember, He has a reason why he hasn't taken you yet. Maybe, it was just so you could write something so beautiful as you just did, which has reached thousands of people - like me. Thank you, your love for her will also continue to grow and one day....

My in-laws played this at their 50th. They were married 73 years before he passed in 2015. I am playing it for her now, as she leaves us to join him.

It makes me think of my mom and dad who both are with the lord .they leaned on each other for close to 50yrs .when you seen one you seen the othet or one was very close by. They called each other mr and mrs i thought they eas so cute .my mom.out lived my dad 9 yrs .they are together now i know so.they was the happiest when they was together .
