George's funeral was personally hard on Vince, but he's said it broke him inside when Patty started singing harmony with him, and that's when he started losing his shit. Bless his heart...we all cried Vince, we did. LOVE Patty! They were always mesmerizing harmonizing together.
And she carried it when he couldn't sing, like a true partner does. That was a tough one to watch, but pure emotion is never wrong.

Way back when, we had a clock-radio for an alarm. One Saturday morning this song woke me up, and I was alone in bed. My heart stopped. Being still half asleep, I didn't realize my wife was in the kitchen, making coffee. I love the song, but I will never forget the depths of despair

Absolutely perfection. I'll have to listen to more country music. I wasn't expecting that burst of beautiful sound after the first two verses. Patty who? This is new to me. I'm putting together my list of funeral songs sadly. I don't think this is the song they meant for me to check out by Vince gill, but I love it. That first chorus where he pulls that note down in his throat at the word just, is beautiful. As a singer that's interesting technique. I've been checking out some country singers and it's probably just natural for them. I'm not able to modulate like that. I gotta hear it again
