There were several great female country singers in the audience who frankly, looked a little skeptical and maybe a little jealous to start. But even they were shedding tears at the end. Carrie took them to school with the most powerful rendition of this wonderful hymn they or I have ever heard. Holding those last notes was just incomparable The Vince Gill guitar interlude was masterful.

I have heard this piece done thousands of times and have sung it myself many times. But this version is the greatest rendition I have ever heard. Vince's harmony was perfect, as was his guitar at the break. This was the most powerful voice I have ever heard from Carrie. The feeling and emotion was incredible. Everyone is talking about how great Carrie Underwood is singing this song and rightfully so but Vince deserves a lot of credit to. His guitar playing is second to none, his guitar playing didn't overpower Carrie Underwood but you could still here it enough that it was the perfect combination with Carries voice.

I have to say with the utmost respect that I might be Vince Gill's number 1 black fan. Love this! It’s no surprise that Carrie can wail, but seeing her so emotionally present in the hymn was beautiful. Vince Gill is often the unrecognized genius that stays quietly in the background. He writes amazing music and lyrics and actively works to showcase other artists. He is an amazing musician and an even better person, from all I have known about him. The unsung hero.

My favorite song played mom funeral 💔 listen to music can't help remember how Sunday go momma and dad every Sunday makes me cry because miss momma and dad
When I was a kid of 7 or 8, our family went to a funeral of a great country lady of faith. It was at a little church that doesn't exist anymore. The church was full and we were probably 50 yards from the front door. It was a hot summer day with a "cloud coming" to the south of the church. One of the musical pieces was this beautiful hymn, sung by a wonderful baritone without benefit of a PA system. We could hear it through the open door perfectly. When the line "I hear the rolling thunder" was sung, the most wonderful rolling thunder came across the landscape. It was if the holy conductor had the sheet music in front. It stunned everyone around us and at that moment we knew we were in the presence of a merciful God who was welcoming one of his faithful servants home to rest with Him. I will never forget that moment, even if I forget other details of that day.

Thank you so much everyone, its absolutely undeniable, she probably had no intention of going into this performance giving everything she had to it, as it wasn't a major concert or anything and you'll find that in most cases alot of the big names out there in the music industry just can't give it 100% on vocals every night cause they simply won't be able to maintain that level of energy and effort on a physical level before they end up losing their vocals, meaning their voice after just a couple shows, but sometimes God has other plans, and will give you that extra bit of strength and energy needed to let it rip, and I'm positive that is exactly what happened during this performance, and I thank God for it, cause it was amazing and beautiful on every level, God was with her, and Jesus was on that stage with her, no doubt in my mind about that at all.

The saddest part of this video is seeing Naomi Judd tearing up. She was a believer, but the depression got too much. Be kind. You don't know what someone is going through.
Naomi probably sang this directly to our Lord as she entered the gates of heaven with all her burdens lifted.
Just because you suffer from depression doesn’t mean you are no longer a believer. The Bible tells us the Lord will never leave nor forsake us. I don’t believe for one moment that God would turn away from us because of one moment in time that we were not in our right mind. Naomi Judd is in Heaven. I’ve been there. I’ve stared death in the face and wanted so bad to just die. The hardest moment of my life.

It is Palm Sunday so I choose to believe they stood up not for Carrie or Vince, but for the power of God. I would wager that every person in that artist was raised in church, that they have pastors as fathers, uncles, grandfathers, etc. My prayer is that they don't totally abandon that in the name of "art" or "progress."

The part where Tim Robbins plays that opera song? When she goes up and up and up with such an Angelic Sound? this is very similar only it doesn’t just last but a few seconds; we’re carried on a spiritual voyage that one simply doesn’t want to get off of.

I spent over 50 years of my life denying the absolute, in my face, blessings God gave to me. God IS love. I finally got to the point where I realized how empty my life was. Even with the blessings, I was angry, prideful, selfish, abusive, etc... Yes, as many know, I had to get to the bottom to look around and see who/what was still the consistent in my life.
