      Really clear, concise demo Gabriel. The Turquoise SE takes the cake for looks. The US has far smoother pickups (duh haha).

    I just bought an SE CE24 in Blood Red, and honestly when I picked it up off of the wall at my local shop, after 30 seconds of demoing it I bought it. For the price, it is the best humbucker guitar on the market right now. I've owned several PRS SE's and these by far have THE feel and sound/build quality of a guitar 2x the price.

    • @gabriel_guitar
      @gabriel_guitar  6 місяців тому

      Sweet! The Blood red version looks stunning too, just like you mentioned, it's very hard to beat these guitars in terms of feel, quality and tone for the price point. 🍻

    Thank you for creating such a high quality comparison video! Great playing!
    All I know, I just ordered my SE CE 24 in black cherry and can't wait!!!!!!!😍
    In my opinion, after the videos I've watched, it sounds warmer than other SE's, I love the midtones! There's a high difference imo between coil splitting the SE CE and other SEs. With other SEs you often hear a change in volume. This one just tone, absolutely stunning.

      Thank you so much, very cool of you, glad you enjoyed the video and playing! Congrats on your new guitar, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Absolutely, the 85/15 “S” pickups split really well, it’s one of the strongest points on these instruments, incredibly versatile 🙂!

    1. Playing AWESOME!
    2. Tone of both AMAZING!
    3. More expensive SLIGHTLY better across the board, but in every circumstance, studio, live, practice.. I would bet that NO-ONE would notice the difference unless the other was there to compare!
    4. GREAT JOB!

      Ha, thank you so much my friend! Really appreciate that.

      Cheers for checking the video out 🍻

    I have both. The SE is a very good guitar, but there are several big differences with the USA version that make it a much better instrument. One of the big ones for me is the neck and fretboard. The USA version is perfectly done. Zero sharp edges and the fretwork is flawless. The finish on the neck is smoother and actually a bit thicker as well. The USA pickups have articulation and clarity that the S version lacks. And the violin carve and solid top are nicer. I’m happy to have both and feel like while the SE isn’t remotely equal to the USA version, it’s a solid good guitar that stands up well against anything else in the $700 to $1400 range. That’s saying a lot!

    About seven years ago I bought a SE Custom 24 Floyd Rose for $700 which I love despite some flaws. A few months later I managed to play an American version with a Floyd rose which is hard to find and cost over $3000. I felt the SE sounded better especially the bridge pickup which was hotter. But the American version was built beautifully.

      Nice!! It’s hard to go wrong with either really, PRS produces some of the best instruments around in terms of specs and quality control, it’s all a matter of budget. Interesting that you thought that the SE sounded better, I also find that the SE line sounds fantastic in general, it can certainly put a lot of more expensive guitars to shame🍻

    The CE core model has more definition on the pick ups a more rounded sound a little more clarity however, the SE is really close to the core in my opinion will probably be a better option because of the price, you can actually buy the 8515 pick ups for about 350 and upand put those in the CE and you have a killer guitar for a fraction of the price of the CE. I did that with mine and trust me is one of my favorite guitar now.

    • @gabriel_guitar
      @gabriel_guitar  6 місяців тому +1

      Nice, I’d definitely be keen to try out the 85/15s on the SE CE, it’s an awesome instrument as is but that’d be a sweet upgrade for sure! 🍻

    Thanks for making this GREAT video and that is some great playing. Every individual is going to have a different value proposition based on their financials and how bad they really want something. The beauty of PRS is they have plenty of offerings up and down the line to make a choice that is best for them. I'm still debating between S2 and CE and need to get both in my hands to see what feels best.

    Amazing comprehensive demo. The sound difference is definitely there (warmer mids on the US made, spikier treble on the SE) but nothing that couldn't be eq'd out with a trusty Boss GE7. I see that SE CE in my future

    Awesome demo of the guitars and your playing! Both guitars sounded great. I preferred the dirty tones of the USA CE24. They had more bite and clarity which is 🎉mainly due to superior pickups. That said, there really wasn't much between the 2 guitars.

    I just picked up a new SE CE 24 in vintage sunburst. The guitar is fanttastic and TBH I have never seen that kind of quality control on a guitar in that price range. Everything is perfect on it. Frets are level, Truss perfectly adjusted, even the intonation was done properly. This is my first PRS and probably won't be my last. I have 20+ guitars and this is the first one I didn't have to do a setup on after buying.

    American CE has slightly more clarity, across all frequencies. I stress, slightly. The SE CE had more warmth and was a tad less hifi... Honestly it was really close and both sounded awesome. Depending on amp and genre, i could see someone preferring one over the other. The big differentiator for me is the fret work.. American PRS fret work is second to none. It doesnt show up on a recording but the cost increase is worth it to me for the workmanship, specifically on the frets.

    • @gabriel_guitar
      @gabriel_guitar  4 місяці тому

      For sure mate, as incredible as the SE is for the money (and it easily outshines some guitars twice the price) - the workmaship and overall quality on the American CE is undeniable, like you mentioned the fretwork is phenomenal. 🍻

    Thanks for the video! It's exactly what I was looking for. Not a "demo" of one or the other sounds, but precisely what you have done: the same songs on both guitars and different styles, too. I think it is impossible to make a more perfect comparison. Congratulations also for your impartiality and your sincerity.
    I differ with you on the appearance of the ring on the pickups, I like the white one much more but, as you say, they are just personal tastes and you can change them easily.
    The sound of the SE is brighter and I prefer it, so (in addition to not being able to spend more money for the American version) you have convinced me that I will make a good purchase.

    I own 5 PRS guitars. They are all great. I would only buy them in very good used condition as the American made PRS guitars are way too expensive, especially with the large price increases over the last 2-3 years. I really like your faded grey Smokeburst CE 24 & looked for it online... looks like a 2016 limited release only in the UK. One thing for sure, the USA pickups sound better overall. The SE is no joke for the price. The materials used in a lot of the CE24 are higher quality than the SE, but from a sound and playability point they are close. Both could be life long guitars though the SE may need more frequent fret replacement as they use softer material compared to the US models. Overall though, hard to go wrong with either one. The CE price increase is insane. Got mine in 21 for 2300. Now for the newest color it's 2800USD at Sweetwater. Insanity!

      Yeah mate, for sure, even though I must say the pickups on the SE are quite good for the money 🤘🏻

    Esta PRS SE CE24 tem o tampo em maple ??? Pensei que ela fosse apenas com corpo em mogno... você poderia esclarecer ??? Obrigado

      Boas! Esta tem o maple top, mas eles têm outra versão desta guitarra (SE CE24 standard satin) e essa é só mogno.

      @@gabriel_guitar... vou comprar uma aqui no Brasil, estou na dúvida entre a maple top e a standard satim... a standard satin é um pouco mais barata... excelente seu vídeo, parabéns, e obrigado pela resposta

    The core series are always having plenty rich of tones, that's the fact about PRS guitars.

    As an owner of PRS SE CE 24 for few months, i have no problem with the sound whatsoever but honestly i realized that the body design is so boring especially if compared to the core version. The shape is just too plain & looks not proportional. I still trying to find out is there any local luthier that can remake & repaint the body to visually look like the core version.

      Ha, interesting, I don’t feel that way but can totally see how some people may find these SE CEs a bit boring in terms of how they look! I’d be very curious to see how yours will look like after making those changes, could be a really cool project 🍻

    Its so close, little diferences, dont reflect the price diference, is a better decision go with the SE

      Nice one mate, yeah, as much as I love the American CE the SE version is undeniably a great guitar and it gets very close to the "real deal".

      Hi mate, nice one, congrats on getting a gorgeous guitar ;)! I'm using the new Friedman IR X preamp pedal on most guitars, the only exception is the cleans where I used the Neural DSP Soldano plugin.
