People should play the solo how they want, whether they want to improvise or play it faithfully like the original. David Gilmour never plays it the same way twice, and I'm sure if you asked him, he'd encourage guitar players to play it how they want as well.

To be quite honest, best cover of this solo I have ever seen. Each and every note just felt right using the adequate nuances provided by David Gilmor. I am sure he is a huge Pink Floyd fan. Congrats, Zakk!

Black Lable live is a sight to see (and hopefully one day we will see it again). Plus the kilt he rocks and those Wylde Audio guitars (love the double neck Zakk), what a powerful force.
I got to see Zakk Sabbath in Pittsburgh last summer........Amazing. Of course the first time I saw him was his first tour with Ozzy and that got me hooked

The dexterity of Zakk Wylde's right thumb has more tone and soul than most guitarists and their entire rig! Period. I always enjoy studying right hand techniques. Derek Trucks and Chris Buck are right hand technique, tone masters too.
He's actually loaded full of them. But the haters never mention those tunes. Zakk is a bad ass! The thing I love most about him is that almost any thing can be a BLS song. He's not trapped in a box and he's extremely versatile. He'll play piano then turn around and smash some faces with heavy stuff. Not many people in the scene have that creative freedom.
A close friend told me one time, "Gilmore may only play 4 notes in the time it takes others to play 40. But he gets so much more out of those 4 notes."
