- I change the emblems on my 2022 Civic Si to black and boy do they look amazing. I totally recommend doing this if you want a more aggressive look.
Here’s where i bought mine from.

I would have used painters tape to outline part of Civic to make sure it goes back in the same spot. Looks awesome!
So i actually thought of this too but even after i removed the adhesive there was a small outline of the letters. If you looked at it in the right spot you could see the outlines so i just used that!
Why even put the name badge back? so ugly. Always debadge the name out. clean look is the best look
@@SkyPix119 eh it's preference
Thanks for the video. I got it done in a hour. Didn't do the civic badge on the trunk. I have a all blacked out SI now. Use fishing ling next time. I used like 15 pound test worked great. Tried to save the front badge but there is really no way unless you start taking the front end off. Used super glue on the prongs. Fishing line, GOO GONE, soap and water, and the alcohol pads that came with the kit. You don't even need a heat gun or hair dryer if you let the GOO GONE settle up for a few minutes. I watched a lot of videos on this but this is the first one I saved so I'm giving you the advice I learned and the comment.
Thanks so much for the comment! You’re right the front badge cant be saved. I had to break mine :/ but I could always get a new one if needed.
I would mark the position of the old emblems with painters tape to get the original location. On the front one, if you don't want to take the grille apart to get to the back, you might break the posts in the holes, so you might want to drill them out.
What looks even nicer like you said is if they had black chrome Si emblems, which Honda should offer, and If there were Black Chrome Honda Mark JDM style emblems like on the Type R for the front grille, trunk lid and horn button. I have only seen chrome ones with red, blue or I think black.
I know it's a bit late st this point, but with the "civic" emblem you could use the frame that holds the black letters together as a guide. Remove it from the black lettering and place it around the chrome letters that are already on the car. Apply painters tape lined up with the edge of frame creating a rectangle on the car. Remove the frame. Theres now a guide around the stock badging for where to put the frame and black badging. Remove the stock badging. Apply the frame and black badging in the rectangle that you made previously. Boom. Factory positioning.
Awesome tip. Thank you.
Fishing line, heat gun/hair dryer then adhesive remover and you’re golden. The fishing line is much stronger than the floss.
Love that color. Wife had a Civic Sport in that Solar Grey. With the black decals it really pops.
I might get a company car soon since I’ll be working for a Honda supplier. How do you like the Si?
I love it! I think its the perfect car for fun sporty and daily driver. I had a 2020 type r and it was too much car i never used it enough. But with the si i feel like i can a use it and not feel bad about it. And its easy and fun to upgrade it
nice best way to get rid of the glue is to instead of the thick towl, use a thinner piece of material and lay it against the glue and soak the glue behind the towl catching any run off. this help let the goo gone soak in to the glue product on the paint wait a few minutes and it will come off much easier. also fishing line i found works better than dental floss for emblem removel
Thanks for the reply! The dental floss vs fishing line is personal preference. Its been pretty 50/50 from what I've seen!
Idk how I feel about the front black emblem tbh
For enthusiasts, the Black emblems are a must have on these Civics, at least the Sport and Si trims, and maybe the Type R, but they have their unique JDM red and Chrome badges. The exception is the black cars, but I still don't like the bright chrome, so I would have those emblems painted gunmetal grey metallic. Likewise for the front emblem what I plan to do when I get my Boost Blue Pearl Civic Sport Hatchback. It's more subtle, but still shows the Honda emblem. You could also go with different colors to match your custom appearance. For black cars, especially on an EX or EX-L, gold emblems would give a real luxury appearance.
The problem that you mentioned that I realized long ago is the chrome trim on the Si emblems clash with the black emblems. Some specialty shops can dechrome, and put a black chrome finish to those emblems, but they may be hard to find. Honda should make those available, or some aftermarket company capable to do it and sell it online.
Just ordered mine, good looking out.
Nice let me know how it looks when you’re done!
The dealership I bought my Civic from black badges all the cars they sell. Yes they charge for it. I would have left them silver to save the money. However, they do look nice. Especially against the white paint.
Thanks! Yea my dealership does not do it so i had to take matters into my own hands!
The Civic emblem should have come with a guide template. I emailed College Hills Honda to confirm it comes with the Civic emblem and the Sport emblem, if you need that one.
Yea its not made very clear sadly :(
@@letsgosergio6128 I wonder if they started including the templates? I saw another video from 1 year ago that had them. That was the reason I emailed them. Either way yours looked good.
@@wescat2im not sure if they sent them or not. I dont think so though
@@letsgosergio6128 Either way it looked great. This is my next upgrade.
Nice video my guy whats the web to get that emblems?
Hey! Thanks. I got them from College Hills Honda.
www.collegehillshonda.com/product/08F20-T20-100.html
Did you order the sedan H badges or the hatchback H badges?
There wasn't an option for me. There was just one option.
Nice! Where did you purchase the front grills?
The front grill is what comes with the Si. The badge itself I bought from CollegeHillsHonda. I have the link in my description.
@@letsgosergio6128 Thanks, i think grills differ per country. I live in the Philippines and the I one I got has a different design. More power to your channel!
@@nelsonoliquino6427 oh wow thats crazy! I did not know different regions have different grills. Thanks for the comment!
@@nelsonoliquino6427 Yes, the grille and slant nose on the Si come from the Hatchback models, the Sedans have the horizontsl slotted grilles.
The cars in various countries & regions will have different wheels, trim parts, accessories and equipment and unique models and trims for their particular market segment. Browse videos of the new Honda Civic from other countries and you will find they all differ.
Could you use some heat to help remove the adhesive
Yes, I have seen some people do this with a heat gun but it might take longer since it has to heat up enough
Is your rear deck black spoiler a factory part?
Yes, all SI come with it I believe.
Idk why people find black badges look appealing. I personally love chrome badges
Thats fair! Everyone has a different taste. Some people love the red badges as well. I find the black compliments the wheels and thats why i changed mine. The chrome didn’t really go with anything on the car in my opinion.
It depends on the color of the paint for me, but I mostly prefer black badges. Chrome often just looks cheap in my opinion.
The black badges look awesome on this paint color.
Looks clean without the front license plate.
Thanks so much!
Mine came with black badges
Oh nice! They definitely changed them though. If you got the performance package or whatever they might’ve included that.
@@letsgosergio6128 it’s included if you get HPD version
@@letsgosergio6128 I have the same color as yours
@@aazibsiddique9925 Yea I assumed as much. A lot of dealers tack this package on mandatory. Mine also wanted to but I was able to get them to not include it so they didn't charge me for it.
@@letsgosergio6128 After 3 months of research I got it for 32k
They didn't give you the HPD emblem in the kit? I had it on mine.
I think they did but I didn’t want to include it.
@@letsgosergio6128 it's a nice touch hehe, I got the whole hpd lip kit on mine I was hesitant on the hpd wheels. The Si is gutless but everything else is on point! I wish there was an optional factory exhaust with it lol
@@salecon yea for sure! I got the remark exhaust I just have to install it haha
How long did they take to come in ?
About a week when i got mine from college hills honda.
$100 for gloss black plastic? I bought a can of plasti dip for $10 painted the back one and removed the front one carefully
Painting them is deff an option. I just wanted them to look more professionally done is all!
Bruh I just plastic dip them last night and it came out amazing
Guy must have never heard of a heat gun, that is all I use to remove emblems off of all of my cars.
The heat gun would certainly do this probably faster but i would either need extensions or a heat gun that plugs into my 12v socket in the car. This was just easier (although takes more time) for me at the moment.
Just use a hairdryer on high .
Good job for voiding your warranty
I haven’t found verbiage that states changing my badges voids the warranty but you could be right. I found information about removing them all-together and that could potentially void it.
@Let's Go Sergio are you that ignorant? I work for Honda and yes you just voided your warranty. Want to take it to the dealer and find out?
@@jaxripper251 I have gone to my dealer. Can you explain why it voids the warranty and provide documentation showing that it does?
@Let's Go Sergio if they didn't tell you your warranty is void
@@jaxripper251 Thanks for your concern but I think I’ll be alright.
Type R is what I’m aiming for…🫵💪 nice car though
Thanks! I had a white Type R and i thought it was too much for me. I never really used it to its potential. Thats why i switched down. :)
Just try wd40 instead of goo gone or whatever is it... WD40 works so fast
Ill have to try that next time or when i change my si logo
Idk how I feel about the front black emblem tbh
