Hey, i was wondering for the beep test, on average do the strikers and wingers get a higher score than the defenders? And also another question I had was do players in lower leagues have a significantly lower fitness than players who play in the premier league or La liga?
Jiho Nam I play D3 and our coach wanted everyone hitting 13 minimum but we only had about 5 people get that. I hit 13,6 as a CMD and the people who got higher were our starting wingers and CAM
Hey Matt I am training my 12 year old son he trains almost everyday. My questions is he works on a app that tracks his touch’s and I am trying to see what you think about how much touches he should be getting on a weekly bases. Also he does one on one training twice a week right now also so those are not counted in it but was just seeing about how mouth he should be touching the ball and at his age is there to much training . I have heard that he probably should be touching the ball about 5k a week.
Yeah from my experience that's a pretty great number of touches to be getting on the ball. However, I am 15 years, and the thing that is more important to me right now that I worry about more than counting touches which produces results is to(1) vary the training, and switch it up between passing, shooting, dribbling, etc.(2) creating game realistic situations in training (3) conditioning (4) having fun and continuing to love the game! Hope this does something to help.
Effects of caffeine DOES diminish over time, not the perceived exertion and alertness, but the performance impact. This because chronic overuse develops intolerance. So in order to get the same performace effect from the same dose, you should go on and off for a period of time after consecutive weeks of using it.
Hey, Matt. What is the name of the nutrition certification program you did? I want to do it myself. Also, love the podcast! Great idea I'm so glad you're doing this.
Yeah hard work gets you close to talent that works hard I used to go to kickboxing training and I wasn’t very athletic at first and I got injured, after recovery and a couple of months later i decided to start training Incase I went back and the most important exercise I did was hill sprints Once I went back a lot of people said that I’m much better and a little faster and tbh I attribute 90% of it to hill sprints but I injured my groin cuz of hill sprints later on lol
Hey matt, when you play against teams or players that are not as good as you, how do you keep playing at your level of play, and not drop down to the slower and sloppier level of the other team’s game? This seems to be a huge issue with players my age when we go against teams that are lower quality we kind of tend to just relax and stop playing our best. any tips?
The DA organization is shutting down. MLS academies will have their own league. USL already has their own academy league. The only teams that will suffer are the non-mls academies and non USL academies. I’m 100% sure that not all USL team have youth teams on hand. I’m going to predict that non mls academies and non-USL are going to form alliances/partnerships with USL league 1 and 2 and NISA for those teams to compete in there own league which makes sense because many non MLS academies were not as competitive as MLS Academies (not saying all)
@@typhoon4022 that makes no sense lol. there are different types of affiliates. main, 2nd party, third party and so on. a main would be in that league. may I ask what team that is?
I think ultimately, the DA platform wasn't entirely sustainable long term and the rapid expansion definitely wasn't helping. Ideally, reforming the youth system could help pave the way for promotion/relegation, which would ultimately be the best thing for US Soccer.
Matt's biggest mistake was leaving Orange County blues he had a great first season could've established him self as a key player and would've moved up to mls
You thought that removing Mimi from the screen would improve the experience? 🤔 You seem to not understand marketing internet video vs podcast well or you know your audience waaaay better.😏 Let's be honest, very often you're just a disembodied voice we listen to for half an hour but don't notice... even when watching this on YT. 😂😉😀
Mimi got the jokes 36:00 😂😂 I’m still laughing at that! Oh man that made my day. That’s getting clipped and sent to my BecomeElite friends!

What I’m trying to say is if you are slow then do groin exercises for 2 weeks to brace it then do hill sprints 👍

wouldn't you want to play just as good as normal and demolish them?

First time watching saw the Q&A figured I would check it out, I don’t really like podcasts but this was good I’ll be dropping a sub 👍
less bodyfat makes you quicker right. That is a big way to get faster because bodyfat is important.

Do you think with this covid-19 that some players will miss opportunities, like right place right time and never have that opportunity again?
Definitely man 😭😫
Hey are u mattsheldon?
Honestly bodyfat% is best speedrun category.
