- My name is Austin, this is Mopar Garage, and we build cool stuff in here! Today we tackling the exterior of the 1973 Plymouth Satellite project. Working on improving the patina and applying Vice Grip Garage shine juice to see if we can get this thing looking better for our next event at Ale and Octane!

Just say no to “patina”. That car deserves better
To each their own. I prefer patina cars to spending 8-10K on paint jobs. Especially if it’s original paint, like this one.
I would of put new vinyl top the roof wasn't rusty
It does have a small rust hole below the rear glass. I’m not a huge vinyl top guy myself, but to each their own!
I got a '76 Valiant sedan (V8, SG, HD cooling, HD suspension w/swaybars, certified speedo, A51 car) from the original owner several years ago. It has a vinyl top, but I'm going to try & peel it off as well as paint the roof white (the body is "Sahara Beige," no need to re-paint the whole car right now) before she runs in the "Southern Classic." It will require new window gaskets & I'll do the headliner as well, and I'll cut & buff the original paint. Won't be perfect, but it'll look good.
Heck yeah!! Sounds like an awesome car. Perfect is no fun anyway!
Looks much better dude! I prefer a new dark green paint job with some cool black stripes. Hahah great job
Thanks!!
Yep I had a73 good 👍 car.Mark maynardville tn
Nice!! Thank you for watching!
Question: You got some bad holes in the cylinders sounds like it running on four cylinders burn valves no compression ? I would of gotten the engine sorted out before going on the finish.
It was really cold out and the choke isn’t hooked up, that’s probably why it sounded funky to you. It runs really good once it’s warmed up. That being said, the plan is to pull the 318 out of it and either build the heck out of it or build a milder 440 for it this summer.
@@TheMoparGarage I had cars in the winter when its cold frost up on start and they load up really bad unless they have a heating system in place off the exhaust manifold . She was loading up and flooding out. If you rebuild the original engine that would be really cool its got good castings. If you are going to change it an I advise you on anther engine and its cheap and you can build the shit out of it. Get a 360 Magnum they have a factory roller cam and they made millions and you can get them dirt cheap prob a good running one for $500 and you can build the shit out of them good budget builder . Re ring bearing valve job hotter cam edelbrock and a good Holley 600 elec choke dude that engine will snort. You dont even need header and it will bolt right in Love these cars had a 71 Road runner 383 pistol grip damn I miss that car
Bro i really need your help i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 i have replaced distributor the pick up....the IAC....the tps....map sensor gud....fuel pump plugs damn near everything on the intake truck runs great and dies after a while...i cant figure out whats going on have you had this situation before...i really could use your advice...
It does like just randomly shuts off? Or won’t idle? Will it re-start?
@@TheMoparGarage it will start up everytime like no issue... run a lil bit then shut down....i watched your vlog on the plenum gasket change would that have it just shut down...I mean it does need to be replaced...but it was running normal even with it needing to be replaced....it's been down for about 2 weeks and it's my main transportation so I'm game for knowledge...
@@eugeneowens82 all of the sensors, plenum gasket, etc, would cause a consistent poor run issue, not a random shutdown. I’m thinking maybe ignition coil, when they start to go bad sometimes they will die when they get hot. Also could be a possible ECU/PCM issue. I’d try a coil first though.
@@eugeneowens82 @eugeneowens82 When it dies, make sure you have fuel pressure at the rail (press the schrader valve on he driver side). If you have fuel pressure, test for spark.
When are you working in the Daytona again
Working on it currently. It’s almost ready to fire up. Should be a video within the next week or so
Great video Austin!
Thanks brother!
