for a long term, ownership one can buy a Camry. But This car would a joy to drive on your daily commute. I drove this car twice in the past year, and most of what they said is correct: 1. Car is way more powerful than it should. 2. Rear wheel drive cars are frowned upon for snow driving. But this thing handles very, very good, like most sedans that are RWD, just like the germans prefer. 3. interior really nice. 4. Trunk huge. 5. people usually get out of the way at nights, as they think its a cop car.
How long did it last you? What were the miles when you had to get something major replaced? I’m looking to get one used. 2014 Dodge Charger SE Sedan 84K miles
Bwitched if the owners before you haven’t done burnouts you probably won’t have to replace much of the engine but keep the suspension maintained as it is a heavy car and a lot of power
I am the proud owner of a 2014 SXT all wheel drive. I’m in love with it and it still has plenty of pickup for a V6. I’m hoping to own a hemi one day when I’m older
Yes. The wheels are part of the "BlackTop Package" that was on this press car. In fact this Chargers whole Blacked-out look was the result of that factory option. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I just rented the V6 version for business and put 1000 miles on it through the mountains of VA and TN. One of the best riding cars for the open road with great fuel economy at 31.1 mpgs. On tight mountain roads of TN this car is enormous and takes all your attention. It is fun in that it harkens back to vehicles of yonder like a Ford LTD or Town Car because of the long hood.
cilvrado oh yeah Im sure but I'm being picky lol I want a blacktop edition. But most that are pre owned put like 20,000 miles on annually. From what I hear the 2012 model was horrible so my best bet is the 2013
you are not talking about the hellcat i mean the name itself is scary if it was a hell hound it will not be as bad cats are not trustworthy you know any way the hell cat looks great.
Always look forward to seeing your reviews. Almost bought one. Opted for the Challenger RT. She is a big gal as well but there is nothing else like it on the road today and drives like a dream. Keep up the good work!
I love it too, especially in black...well I like it so much I bought one 5 days ago, with the 5.7 liter V-8. This car is awesome and has every option I can think of ! Comfortable, fast, fast and handles like a dream !
I just got a 2010 sxt 140000km and I love it! People like to talk shit about the 1st gen from 2006-2010 but idk it's a pretty badass car still.... even for it being a 10 year old car you'll still look bad ass and have more speed than alot of the cars on the road in 2020
I snapped up a 2014 Charger R/T Plus w/AWD. Just in time too because I'm not crazy about the design of the 2015. Plus you can't get AWD with a Hemi anymore. That's a big mistake for all the folks in the snow states. So happy with my purchase. Really, really fun to drive and it's a total head turner. People walking, driving, biking always look at this car. Other drivers have that look on their face that says... that's the car I really wanted but for some reason I got this Subaru instead. Not many 2014's left. If you're planning to get one, better hurry.
How long did it last you? What were the miles when you had to get something major replaced? I’m looking to get one used. 2014 Dodge Charger SE Sedan 84K miles!
We're glad you liked the review and it was helpful to you in your decision making process. We look forward to seeing what Ford and Chevy offer in response to this big affordable RWD. Glad you enjoy our work and we hope you'll stick around for more! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes! We have some great stuff planned to celebrate those cars. Based on our current schedule we should release a couple of pieces on them before the summer is over. Keep watching and telling others about us... there's some great stuff lined up for the rest of the year!
Thanks for the review. I bought one after viewing in Aug. I got a red one and love it. I do disagree with the turning. Wife and I took it through Boulder and Colorado Springs, CO. This car is great and looks like nothing else. Interior blows ford and chevy away. Thanks for the review
I'm not a Dodge guy (or an American car driver) at all, but you guys sure made me consider buying this car. I wanted to get an Audi, but an older friend of mine told me they're trash; I considered a VW, but he said the same. I decided I might as well go for a Lexus (I'd considered an Infiniti before this, but I learned they're not the best idea for family car) and get it over with. I saw the Charger as a bachelor and not family car, and my bachelor days are coming to an end. This review makes me wonder if the Charger really can go from bachelor ride to family car without too much effort.
It's a good car but not for everyday use! They are fun to play with but before you go buy 1, rent 1 for the week and see how much U like putting gas in it a lot more often that a VW! The VW Passat is bigger inside, built in the USA and is the only car offering a TDI at under $30K The Passat would last a whole lot longer and go to Don'tbuy a dodge.com! Or look it up on UA-cam all the troubles people with Dodge's have! Again, they are fun to drive but reliability has never been Dodge's strong suit!
MrThat70svan Thanks for that. I won't waste my time with most American cars (I only consider Chryslers for their European look). I'll probably stick with the Audi A4 or VW Passat TDI since I love driving and it's awesome how many miles (I think it's about 800 miles on one full tank) you can get out of those things.
MrThat70svan Totally agree. And the VW TDI (Audi has one too) is probably what I'll get if I go with that. It's simple in style which is what I most love about it. Life is complex; keep everything else simple.
Excellent review. I like how you guys give your honest opinions and that you both can agree or disagree with each other. Most other car reviews online always make the car they are reviewing seem like its excellent and you should buy it, which is terrible. I'm glad there are people out there just giving their honest opinions, and hopefully the car manufacturers are paying attention.
I'm 58 years old and the coolest car I've ever had was a used 72' Chevelle that my brother and I purchased back in 75'. Never had a new car to myself but beaters to get me from point A to point B. I'm not getting any younger so if I'm going to get something nice I better do it now. After watching EverydayDriver I took a test drive and Wow was I impressed. Ordered a 2013 SXT from the factory a week ago. Can't wait!
You guys need a TV gig or something. My favorite reviewer and I know real life stuff keeps you from making more vids, but I still wish you could make more. Either way, a loyal fan.
I love my 2012 Charger. Wow. What a car. I love the amount of negative feedback, becuase it's pretty hard to beat this combination of car for th eprice. I think this is a good review. Good job. I'm 6'3, 210. it fits me perfect. AWD makes it even better.
The Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro aren't 4-door/4-seat family capable cars, which is why we mentioned this car (and its sister the Chrysler 300) as alone in this part of the marketplace - especially as Big RWD cars available at this price point. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This car is so comfortable, roomy, and it looks cool. I really don't mind the 3.6 because it's pretty much rocking 300 HP! My 2007 dodge ram 4.7 V8 had only like 270hp. Dodge did a great job and I'm happy I picked one of these up.
Still have my 2014 Dodge Charger blacktop that looks exactly like this and to this day I still get compliments on the car. People don’t think it’s 10 years old. And while I wish I had the RT or str8 version, I’m happy with my car. Especially after I got custom red seat covers, it looks perfect. It’s my first car and my baby. Been to over 30 states, Canada, and Mexico in it. Nearly 200k miles on it now. I don’t think I’ll ever sell it.
I like that V6 / 8 Speed Charger very much. The 'Blacktop' package might be called the 'Enforcer' package here in Canada. Terrific review, guys. Keep up the great work.
We completely agree with you. And maybe our earlier response didn't come across as intended, but we do applaud Chrysler for offering a car this big and capable - for some reason that's become very rare. It doesn't mean the size of it can be ignored in a discussion, but as the reviews shows we liked this car a lot. Small cars can be fun, but if that's all the world had we'd be worse off! And we will always recommend a car over a SUV/Minivan etc.
Great question, but as mentioned in the review the segment being discussed is large RWD family sedans in the high 20s- low 30s. The Taurus is FWD in most versions and a FWD Biased AWD in the SHO. Until Chevy releases the new RWD SS, the Charger remains a part of one.
We hope you watched the whole piece and noticed that the guys mentioned your comment about this car: American companies used to make tons of cars like this, and now Chrysler is the only one! The size of the car is definitely worth discussing, and the guys gave it high marks. Thanks for watching and commenting.
According to the Monroney label and our conversations with Dodge, this is definitely an SXT Plus. And that model is still listed on the Dodge website as well. Paul did get a bit dyslexic on the name, didn't he!? Apologies for that... Thanks for watching and listening close.
Just bought 2014 rt max awd white with red leather interior. Its amazing. It snowed 1ft of snow a day after I got it and I'm king of the road with 6 inches of snow on the road. I got 8500 off msrp (44k mrsp) with a .4 % interest rate. I was looking at Cadillac ats, Lexus is350, and the charger crushes then on features and price.
Superb review (again) except, I just feel that 3 1/2 out of 4 is optimistic. I just loved watching your top-notch professional reviews. Isn't Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Road and Track boring after you see these 2 guys :D Keep it up!!!!
We know JF and the guys over at Drive and we're big fans of what they are doing. Though we've had conversations with them, it seems they have a full slate of shows on the schedule for now. Feel free to mention us to other Drive viewers, as well as your favorite forum or social site. Everyone who finds us seems glad they did - Thanks for watching and being a fan!
Very good review. I like that you guys stick to reviewing the cars that people are considering to buy in real (V6 versions) life not in there dreams (supercharged V8 or whatever)
You are absolutely right, Cadillac is still in this market, but not at this price point. The Charger is essentially by itself as RWD family sedan under $30k. If you spend Mid-30k or up, then there are plenty of options, (Caddy included) but not at this level.
I'd like to see these guys on the Drive network with some good funding. They do amazing reviews with limited budget. Good job guys cant wait for the next!
This car makes me love my Chrysler 300S V6 even more. Basically the same car. And yeah, I love driving it aggressively believe it or not. It's fun. Has two aggressive sport modes, 8 speed ZF transmission that is quick and smooth. 300 HP ,true dual exhaust, not a single to the back that then splits this is a real dual exhaust system, sounds great. So many great things to say about it. The Charger and 300 of this year is my favorite US vehicle. Besides the Cadillac CTS- V of course.
I purchased a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T in December. It's Pitch Black and I have made it into a Blacked Out Edition removing all badging except for the Dodge and Charger in chrome on the tail end.Can you say SLEEPER? This car is awesome and drives like a fantasy. I was a die-hard Chevy guy but I will admit...I love my Charger. She's BEAST and I'm not finshed with her yet. \m/
We prefer the styling of the Charger, but btwn it and the 300 it's mostly down to personal preference. The Challenger isn't as spacious and usable (since we are talking 4doors) Most everything else you mentioned starts at 35k or so and goes up from there, where as this Charger was loaded at 35 and starts below 30. Infiniti G, CTS, etc aren't as large so they are more agile. The Genesis is softer and aiming more for luxury.
I just bought a Chevy Cruze this January. It was my first car that i bought and i like the car and everything but after watching these reviews how i wish i would of bought Charger. Im 5"11 and 180pounds and i feel so squished in it and especially when i bring my friends on board , but it is a small car and its good on gas and the insurance is way lower than the charger. Now i have to wait about 10 years to buy another car. Being a collage student though the Cruze is way more convenient but still the Charger is a bad azz car. If anyone is willing to trade their Charger ill be more than happy. lol
i have no complaint with 2012 dodge charger SE..loved it. it came in pearl red line and painted in matte black PLASTI DIP and painted it WHITE PLASTI DIP. 12 inch K & N air filter, new muffler, new SRT spoiler for 89 bucks from ebay, XENON FULL BODY KIT!!!
What makes this car better than the previous version is that it was designed as a charger with the intent of being a reborn charger right from the drawing board. The previous generation was never intended to be called charger originally. The designers were told by the execs to design and build a full sized four door family car that could also be used in fleet application. It was only named "charger" to help it sell. There was no love put into it.
EverydayDriver, Hope you notice this message, if yall could do a complete review on some of the newer truck models available. That would be nice for truck lovers. But i love your reviews.
I totally have to agree with your comments about Chrysler interiors, especially the seats and steering wheels. They were the only cars I could sit in, and each one had the same feel . . . comfy seat and a very nice steering wheel. The rest of the interior is nice too . . . just look at a Dart. GM and Ford? Not so much. Yes, they make some nice interiors, but not across their entire line. Glad I found you guys on here!
5 years later and it hasn't changed, this is still the only real option at the price point. I own a 2013, it has it's problems, however there is nothing else on the market that compares at this price.
Didn't like the last Charger's styling. Love this one though. Rear lights are fantastic at night, and it is nice to be able to recognize specific cars these days. Really happy for Chrysler. That 6.6 second run to 60 was a second faster than I figured.
Why am I always suprised to see a new EverydayDriver video is up? Really good review but they need to pop up more often. In your opinion how does the Charger compare to a base 3 series?
Okay, I hear you. The city rating is very subjective though, so I definitely recommend doing a bit of reading (if you haven't already) on how to get the best mileage out of your car because you can embarrass the EPA ratings if you do it right. My truck is rated for 11 city (yeah, I know) but I get 15-16 all the time. A $35 OBD-Bluetooth adapter and a cheap app for your phone will let you track your instantaneous mileage, and that can be a powerful tool, as well as making your commute a game!
We bought a 2011 awd for my wife, because she hates suvs. The Charger is a perfect alternative. We love this car. So much so that I tried to trade my piece of crap 2012 Impala in on leftover 2012 awd Charger with the 6 cylinder. I bought the Impala because I thought that I was going to get better mileage. Since I have a 120 mile a day commute to work. Turns out that I am only getting 2 mpg better with my Impala. And the difference in the 2 cars is night and day. Not to mention no awd.
I have been driving a 2011 Dodge Avenger Heat addition. We are going today to trade up for one of these in AWD. (winters can get nasty here) Of course it will be black. I have had the dealer searching for a week to track down one with a V6 in AWD. Now he has two for me to choose from. Gotta crunch the numbers to decide which one. But either was I am going to own one of these. Best looking car on the road.
As a 6'2, 280lb man who has driven this car. This car was made for enthusiasts like me ;) Just wish Dodge made a right side drive model since I don't live in the US anymore!
Since you LOVED the V6...Is there any chance of getting a Super Bee or R/T review?(super bee in particular) I'd like to know what you think of the "big engines" and of the Super bee interior. and for your next FAQ/Q&A video...I need a commuter car that gets 35-??? MPG highway(I now haz 100mi round trip commute)...Do I settle for 40 mpg and get a used Hybrid(Fusion/Cruze/optima) or bite the bullet and grab a wait for it, Prius?*Shot by crossbolt*...Or possibly a used CR-Z(coilovers, ect)?
Get the charger r/t over the Taurus. It comes with everything but the kitchen sink and it's 10 grand cheaper then the sho Taurus. Heated and cooled seats and cup holders. The 8.4 inch uconnect system is literally outstanding and the interior is great. The hemi v8 pushes out 370 hp and 390 pounds of torque . You can also get awd which I have because of a lot of snow.simply put this car is awesome . You won't be disappointed.
when you buy this car , you are guaranteed to have a smile on you face for life time, its power, beauty , speed, muscles, who agrees with me
for a long term, ownership one can buy a Camry. But This car would a joy to drive on your daily commute.
I drove this car twice in the past year, and most of what they said is correct:

Sourabh D nothing more than that for your daily drive. Mileage was ok, but who cares at this gas price?
This video makes you love your charger lol
2011 dodge charger r/t
2018 GT. Love it
Each time I see this it makes me happy that I got one of these
the real question is, do you still feel the same way
@@brandon7t yeah. In 2019
Because I do

I had to sub. Thanks for the down to earth reviews!

Can't wait to get mine!! Silver or gray 2009- 2014 SE. Love it!!!!
I love this model, it's too bad they changed it to look so hideous on the 2015
good thing 12/13 models are still available under CPO.
cilvrado whats that?
iliftbro you can still buy the 2nd gen charger with Certified Pre-Owned warranty.

Absolutely love the charger. My dad bought one last year and he loves it!
I am a Honda Civic si kind of guy, but I really like the styling and the mpg of this car!

MrThat70svan
Totally agree. And the VW TDI (Audi has one too) is probably what I'll get if I go with that. It's simple in style which is what I most love about it. Life is complex; keep everything else simple.
I love the sound of the VW diesel. It sounds so good. I really enjoy driving my Fusion though! It is the nicest driving car I have ever driven!
I have to admit this car was never even on my radar until I saw this review! Very well done guys.

You are absolutely right, Cadillac is still in this market, but not at this price point. The Charger is essentially by itself as RWD family sedan under $30k. If you spend Mid-30k or up, then there are plenty of options, (Caddy included) but not at this level.
I want this car
Seriously you are guys are so much more entertaining then Motortrend
Love watching your video reviews, even though they don’t come out often definitely worth the wait! The Brz/Frs Review I’m looking forward to. Cheers!
You guys should do a review on Affordable muscle cars (99-04 Mustangs and F body Camaros and Firebirds). That would be AWESOME.
Car built for powerlifters. 💪
Ford and Chevy REALLY need to make their full size sedans rwd base with awd as an option. I am seriously considering buying this.
My mouth just falls wide open on how GORGEOUS the new Chargers are! Dodge, you got a GEM here!! I'll take the v6 and still be happy!!
Saw this in suggestion column. Great commentary!
The analogies are great!
I have the 2012 RT and love it. Got it without the silly spoiler, which makes it look fantastic.
Glad I found you guys on here!
that freeze frame of the charger at 6:34 is Sexy and angry as hell! love it!
Great review!!!! Great driving shots! Wish you guys did more reviews more often to keep up with the big youtube car channels.
Fast and furious signature car American Muscle baby!!!!!!!
Great review, guys. I've always liked the newer design, glad to hear that it's more than just a pretty face.
i bought 2014 same charger sxt plus it's awesome...
You still have it? Liked it all the way through?
this is gta 5 franklin car
lmao, u wonder where rockstar got the inspiration from the "bravado buffalo s" also the older chargers are named "bravado buffalo" in gta.
As an Audi A4 driver, You guys just sold me on the Charger........Back to the Basics.
the music makes this amazing video that much better
5 years later and it hasn't changed, this is still the only real option at the price point.
I own a 2013, it has it's problems, however there is nothing else on the market that compares at this price.
Best review ever. Not even kidding.
Didn't like the last Charger's styling. Love this one though. Rear lights are fantastic at night, and it is nice to be able to recognize specific cars these days. Really happy for Chrysler. That 6.6 second run to 60 was a second faster than I figured.
This is my favorite modern body style charger ❤
Beautiful car. I have a 2018, but this body style is nice too.
I really love this channel, great videos.
Why am I always suprised to see a new EverydayDriver video is up? Really good review but they need to pop up more often. In your opinion how does the Charger compare to a base 3 series?
You guys are amazing! Keep up the good work you guys.
Amazing review. Very thorough.
You guys should review the new dart for sure! I own one and it's fantastic.... there are lots of questions asked about it.
you are absolutely right. thats all i hear as well. thank you for pointing that out.
I am not a fan of big cars, but I kind of like that. I'd pop for the SRT8 of course, but it is surprisingly nice inside.
Enjoyed the review! Thanks! I'm looking forward to picking up my 2014 SXT!
I love this car. Any idea of how she rolls in the snow or on ice?
Fantastic review!
As a 6'2, 280lb man who has driven this car. This car was made for enthusiasts like me ;)
Just wish Dodge made a right side drive model since I don't live in the US anymore!
Amazing review guys
Omg where have you guys been!!! Why not the srt8 model. Getting one in like a week!!!
I'm on my second Chrysler. 1st was a 300 with the 2.7L.
#2 is a 300c SRT8 Supercharged.
#3 will be a 2014 300c SRT8.
Since you LOVED the V6...Is there any chance of getting a Super Bee or R/T review?(super bee in particular)
I'd like to know what you think of the "big engines" and of the Super bee interior.
and for your next FAQ/Q&A video...I need a commuter car that gets 35-???
