    I work as a finisher in a cabinet shop, I went from a shop with Graco G15 wall mount sprayers to a Devilbiss Tekna Pro Lite Cup gun and pressure pot. You get an amazing finish with the Devilbiss

    I used Standox paint for the majority of my career, I would start out with a faster activator and then off the second coat with slow activator. It’s a fast way to get a slicker finish.

    Hi Paul, new subscriber just cam across your channel. Have to say those panels came out looking very glassy nice job 👍 I'm just a Hobby/DIY painter doing it as a learning experience not earning from it as I don't work these days.
    It's great to see another UK based painter showing us how it's done, I'm a good friend of Tonys Refinishing he has helped me no end with learning this job, I'll watch all your other vids over the next few days. 🙏👍
    Stay safe Paul,

      Hey John, thanks. I do chase that glassy finish. It saves having to polish orange peel just nib it and polish the dirt/dust inclusions.
      Tony is a good painter. Just keep practicing it takes time to get to used to the products.
      Thanks again.

      Thanks Paul, I just love this as a hobby as I don't work these days so have some time on my hands to practice as nothing I paint will ever get used so I recycle my panels and start again from bare metal.

    Nice work. Just subscribed. Can you please tell me the best setup for devilbiss gti pro lite with 1.3 tip and te20 aircap for spraying clearcoat. Thanks.Vinny

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks Vinny, I really appreciate it. I use a 1.2 for clear it gives you less orange peel. But with the 1.3 I would fully tighten the fluid adjustment and unwind it 2 turns and spray at just over 2 bar or 31psi. This will help atomise the lacquer better and gives a nicer finish it might be a little slower though but you can adjust the fluid out 1/2 a turn until you find a speed that you are comfortable with. Lacquer its just one of those things you have to play around with until you find what give you the results you are looking for. Hope this helps.

    Hi Paul hope your doing well..been watching all your new videos and have subscribed as I’m learning a lot from them..I know your using standox now but can I ask I’m using bmw white label racing clear which is 3:1:1 lovely stuff I normally use normal hardner and thinner but starting to get few sags lately..just wondering as you said your using fast hardner is that with fast thinner as well? What temperature would your booth be? Blown away how you done 3 bonnets and bumpers in same booth with fast hardner💪…keep up the great work Paul

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  2 роки тому +1

      I'm good thanks Tim, really appreciate you watching my videos it means a lot. My booth is set at 22°c and I was using fast hardener and normal thinners. Your right in thinking the sags could be temperature related obviously slower hardeners and thinners take longer to flash off but if its colder then that needs to be adjusted for as well. Try extending the flash times or if you have/can order fast hardener then this may help. 🤔 or you could tighten your fluid adjustment slightly. I still get runs and sags when I get confident with the lacquer. I'll be spraying glass thinking I'm brilliant and next thing I know it's on the floor 🤣 so I wined it in a bit. It's more than likely the drop in temperature but just try different things to see what will help.
      Thanks again 🤘

    Is that solvent base your spraying?

    • @paulphillipspaintwork
      @paulphillipspaintwork  3 роки тому

      Hi Mark,
      The paint we are using is Glasurit 90 line and we mix it up as waterbase. 90 line can be mixed as a solvent though, but because of the type of work we do we are not allowed to use solvent as the laws in the uk require waterbase.
