But I got over it before I really learned about the significance/added terror factor of the scorpians. But before the chest it was hilarious ecpically considering (fun fact everyone probably already knows) that the guy who bet against Hook / the guy who got "booed" was actually played by a girl, namely Meryl Streep.
I have some very wholesome funfacts for you then. The scene at the end of the film where Robin Williams nominates the new pan and gives them his sword was wholly improvised. NONE of the boys knew who it was supposed to be, so all of the reactions were genuine. Robin Williams in generally was a good person on set and was all around fun for everyone. The scene where one of the boys says "You're back Peter, Pan the Man!", Robin Williams is actually mouthing the words so that the child can remember the line. He also had some friendly banter with the actor for Captain Hook and the two would make witty remarks about each other on set all the time. After Williams passed away, Steven Spielberg, who ORIGINALLY made this film as a passion project due to his own role as a father but had become overencumbered by the workload and felt it inadequate, went back to rewatch the film and has reassessed it as better than he remembered.. Though he could not make it through its full run time as Robin William's and him were close friends and the film obviously featured the best of Robin's personality.

When movies still used real sets with real props instead of all this green screen CG garbage. It looks real because it is real, and this is one of the best most fun scenes I've ever seen in any movie ever. So great how it goes from invisible to peter to a sprawling rainbow cornucopia feast.
Next to the Boo Box scene, the food fight scene was always my favorite… probably because of how Peter warms up to the food game by showing Rufio up and Tinkerbell trying not to get covered in the Neverland mixed berry cream pie
This movie affected me deeply when I was little. I had to stop watching it over and over, felt like I was connected to it in a strange way but it was too sad and scary and real. Last time i seen it I was the same age as the kids in the film. Its funny now im my 30s🐧

I’m so lucky to have been a child when this movie came out. I didn’t understand a lot of the adult stuff like I do now, but damn if this was not the best movie.
I remembered this scene today when I thought about how Jesus said you have to become like a little child to enter the kingdom of heaven, and a lot of what is amazing about being a Christian is totally invisible and imperceptible to those who don't have faith. But this is what the kingdom of God is like, this is what believing in Jesus is like: it's a huge feast other people can't see until they come to the table and start to believe.
