Pure nostalgia comes to my heart that makes me cry remembering how much I wanted to imagine up food like this. Now that I’m getting older I come to find myself in this movie
The most important thing from this scene, watching it over and over again as a kid, and now as an adult, is that imagination lets you do anything. It lets you eat food that's not there, have a good time with your friends in a pretend food fight, and ultimately helps you concentrate at pivotal moments like when he cuts the coconut in half. It's amazing what happens when you let your imagination run itself over and you can basically let your instincts take over. I've had it happen a couple of times in my life. One time, I was bouncing a blue racket ball around the living room and I was talking to my roommate, who was standing up, under the ceiling fan. I know he has an inkling to spike it out of thin air. We were talking, and I saw the perfect spot on the wall, about 12 feet away, about 7 feet high. I thought he would spike it out, so I aimed, threw it at the perfect angle and velocity. It was in an instant. We were talking, I looked at the wall and took the perfect shot. It bounced off with speed, and I caught it midair. We were both stunned, because everything was perfect, from the ending of the conversation, to my throwing of the ball, both of us watching, and the bouncing back, to me catching it. I was laid back on the couch, and hit the wall 12 feet away, to bounce back perfectly, in an instant, because I imagined it. That's the power of imagination.
Music, scenes, dreams, words and the ultimate Robin....... Nothing from this era and scene can be repeated in the future..... Like time stopped exactly at that moment for all of us who were there to witness it from our screens
This is one of my favorite versions of Peter Pan because it showed Peter as a grown up and yet the little kid was still inside him. RIP Robin Williams. I hope you’re not rolling over in your grave from what Disney and Hollywood has become. If you are, nobody is blaming you.
This was my whole childhood, I watched the VHS so much that it got damaged and I had to get a new one. This movie will remain one of the greatest ever made.
One of my favourite childhood movies. Its funny though; I was never able to understand the insults Rufio and Pan were throwing each other my entire life until just now. Jesus, Panning is spitting black magic at the kid.
The message in this movie goes so much deeper than I think we realize. They planted the seed with us as children, so that we would remember as adults. I believe everything we see happens for a very specific reason. Seeing is believing.
It's interesting that not all of the foods the children mimed eating showed up on the table after Peter's ability to perceive it kicked in. Things like corn on the cob and sandwich fixings were missing. It shows that the kids are all actually imagining different foods, which is a fun detail.
I just love Spielberg's work! He made kid's movies imaginative and meaningful! He made adventure movies more adventurous and exciting! He made factual movies more realistic than those reporting them. Just love him!❤

Good on you. I’ve bought it numerous formats.
One of the greatest movies ever made.
Still the best sequel re imagining of a classic piece of fiction
6:12 only Peter Pan could slice through a coconut at the right time, angle and spur of the moment.
It's a movie.
@@philbecker4676 so what?

one of the greatest children movies!
Pure nostalgia comes to my heart that makes me cry remembering how much I wanted to imagine up food like this. Now that I’m getting older I come to find myself in this movie
Robin Williams was a gift. Rest in power and thank you for this masterpiece
World needs Robin Williams Peter Pan
The comfort I feel watching this is like the magic of Christmas as a kid. Robin Williams was the man of my childhood movies!
I wanted to be in this fantasy land so bad after I seen this movie as a kid...1991 was an incredible year for movies!!! 🔥
Aren't the kids dead?
The 90s was filled with classic stories brought to life...
I saw this in theaters.
I was born in 91, but it was still one of my favorite movies and my poor dad had to watch this and jurassic park atleast a million times with me.
Oh and jungle book xD
This cured my inner child like foreal love this scene
"Prison Barber" gets me every time haha
😂😂
RIP Robin. You still awaken the chid in me to this day..
This part hits the childhood hard as it's a movie and is about imagination
Music, scenes, dreams, words and the ultimate Robin.......
Nothing from this era and scene can be repeated in the future.....
Like time stopped exactly at that moment for all of us who were there to witness it from our screens
To this day, I will never understand why critics hate this movie.

@Squealer Pig no, you're wrong
@Squealer Pig yes, you're always wrong

Don't mess with me man, I'm a lawyer!😂 Awesome movie! He legit threatened both Hook and Rufio with the same thing. Lol.
One of the best movies ever made. RIP legend.
This movie is a classic. Miss Robin Williams
I can't get enough of this movie
This is one of my favorite versions of Peter Pan because it showed Peter as a grown up and yet the little kid was still inside him. RIP Robin Williams. I hope you’re not rolling over in your grave from what Disney and Hollywood has become. If you are, nobody is blaming you.
Great scene from an even greater movie. Robin nailed the role of an adult Peter who forget who he was only to rediscover himself at the end.
it's nice to meet you and national geographic said god and reincarnation are REAL so they PROBABLY are i'm still 98-99 ish% of that SERIOUSLY
This had to be my favorite scene in the whole movie. It always looked SOOO good and made me so hungry. The colors, THE COLORS! @_@
This was my favorite scene as a kid.
Long forgotten memories opened watching this as a kiddo. Now an old man still wanting to eat that food. And throw it.
this scene was in so many of my dreams. i was in so MANY food fights.. thank you Mr. Williams. R.I.P thank you for all the smiles
It's interesting that not all of the foods the children mimed eating showed up on the table after Peter's ability to perceive it kicked in. Things like corn on the cob and sandwich fixings were missing. It shows that the kids are all actually imagining different foods, which is a fun detail.
Very refreshing to come to the comments page and not immediately see the word ‘underrated’ in the first 3 comments. Keep up the good work 👍
3:06 3:08 always kills me I can't with that awkward silence😂😂😂
I just love Spielberg's work! He made kid's movies imaginative and meaningful! He made adventure movies more adventurous and exciting! He made factual movies more realistic than those reporting them. Just love him!❤
So miss Rrrobin Williams 😢
I absolutely loved Hook. Robin Williams playing a grown up Peter Pan was awesome. So sad he passed away too soon ❤
Watching Hook:
Young me: smiling ear to ear
Adult me: smiling ear to ear + crying
