This is a really cool "near shore", "near the mangroves" type of look. I love it.

A hell of a lot of reefkeepers are super ocd about their tanks(myself included😂) but i really like the natural, mature look of this tank.i have a planted freshwater 252 that i have a similar ethos with.some tanks just find their own natural balance.look forward to seeing the next update

The tank looks great, and your patience with the hair algae has been impressive. 👍

it would be interesting if you get 2 lavarocks. One you soak in rodi water for 4 weeks and the other one don´t. I think the low PH in the RODI water will leach out those micronutrients the hair algae will consume. then put both in the tank and then check if the rodi watered lava rock gets the same amount of hairalgae as the other one. i dind´t have any problem with my lavarocks, but it could be the reason they started in my freshwater tank, which got converted to brackish and then full marine. i even stored them dry for half a year, put them in a new tank and it didn´t get hair algae. Same goes for my small Lido 120 macroalgae tank, no hair algae at all on the lavarocks.
    As always, nice video :)

I envy this tank, I want my tank to look like it one day. I've read tangs will eat macro algae, but you have a tomini in there with caulerpas and gracilaria, I guess its never bothered any of them otherwise you wouldn't have it in there? Is this a case by case thing or are there certain types of macro that certain tangs wont eat? I would love to get a tomini, but I hate the idea of "buy the fish and see if it does or doesn't eat your macro/corals"

All ctenocheatus tangs are macroalgae safe. They can't chew the same way as the other genus's of tang

Interesting what you do with the tomorite, I wonder how you dose it, Will it be the same for a fresh water tank? How do the macroalgae respond to it and how fish and corals respond to it? Nice improve over that lava rock tank, well done, I will get some of those snails, seems that they made the trick.

It's quite strong. I just dose around 5-10ml neat per 1000L. Never had any issues with anything

@@EverydayAquarist cheers, thinking about setting up a coral and macro algae tank with planted tank leds, and what other corals could grow under a nicrew light? Love your vids, thanks
