- To see how I built the lava rock cave, you can watch the 10 Hours In 10 Minutes build here: • Aquarium Prep! - Build...
Note: This tank is a set which comes complete with the below - I am not a Fluval sponsor, this is just a nice mid-sized tank kit which is easy to set up as it comes with everything you need!
• Tank = Fluval Shaker 168L
• Filter = Fluval 07 canister filter
• Light = Fluval Aquasky 2.0
• Heater = Fluval M Series heater
As mentioned in the video, remembering the names of plants is not my forte, so here’s a list below:
• Anubias (var)
• Bucepalandra (var)
• Cryptocoryne (var)
• Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
• Micranthemum (Monte CARLO - not Christo, lol)
• Eriocaulon cinereum
• Eleocharis acicularis (Hairgrass)
• Pogostemon erectus
• Hygrophila rosae australis
And for anyone who didn’t catch the critter list, here you go:
• Ember tetra
• Copper Harlequin rasbora
• Chilli rasbora
• Five-Banded barb
More updates on this tank (including some additional fish) soon!
Really impressive. Looking forward to this progressing.
Thank you! 😊
Very impressive aquascape, really liked the cave system, what was that structure made out of?
Thank you! It was made almost entirely of lava rock, stuck around a couple of plant pots. There’s a video here if you’re interested: ua-cam.com/video/9JAgdSslOzo/v-deo.htmlsi=79jHKS0UwOEsRmeT
Beautiful!!. Is the tank next to a window? Looks like a lot of natural light is coming through. Wouldn't it cause algae issues? 🤔
Thank you! Yes, it’s actually in a conservatory, so I was expecting algae issues. This video was actually recorded about 3 months ago now (I’ll post an update soon) so I can say that certainly over the winter months, it’s not been a problem. The lid is black, so little light gets in there and the window behind the tank is actually a raised lawn that’s level with the window - I made sure to plant bushes in the bed and with it being north- facing, very little sunlight comes in that direction. Therefore the only side which gets the Sun is the right side - and cross fingers, the mass of stem plants and the trio of bristlenoses has kept it algae free! 😁
Woah, looks like a well thought out plan. I'll be looking forward to the update. Again, great work, Cheers!! 😁
@@Ani_zuzu cross fingers the plan will work in summer too! 😁
