One of my favorite Mepps strike was a few years ago along a canal. As I was bringing it up to the surface in chocolate milk water, all I saw was the flash of my #3 coming up and a giant white ring behind it. As it came out of the water, a 4lb largemouth launched right out of the water on it and hooked himself on those trebles. Flipped him onto land successfully with his momentum. This was pre GoPro days, but would’ve made some awesome slo-mo footage. Great work out there, brings me back to wanting to throw them old vets!👊🏻💥🎣
That sounds like a heck of a catch!! If only we had GoPros on for all of our pre-UA-cam fishing years. Man would we have some awesome catches to show people!
I toyed around with one of the small ones, with the smaller hooks, after the bass weren't hitting. Caught a bunch of Sunnie's, bluegill, and two crappie. I threw it in some deeper water and a huge pickerel hit it. Made a believer out of me. Will be picking up some more for sure. I'm in PA. It was a blast
I can fish an area on a lake and throw 6 or 7 lures with 40 or 50 throws and no response. I can clip on my Mepps Anglia 4 in Fire Tiger. Wham a Pike just hammers it. I can eliminate so many baits with a Mepps Aglia.
I cringed so hard when you dropped the spinner back in the net. WWHHYYYY LOL. NICE bass, I used to catch stuff all day on the Mepps as a kid but it's been years since it worked for me. Can't explain it 🤷🏼♂️
@@Orange22Fishing oh wow! I didn't even know those existed. I use an old hand me down so I've never had to shop for one haha. Good to know, I may pick one up now 👍 cheers, happy fishing
I was river fishing for smallmouth and trout the other day on a river in the town I live in; everyone tells me there is basically no fish in the river and that it isn't a great I'd river but I found a spot finally off the beaten path some bushwhacking involved and I had 6 smallmouths in 3hrs on the black fury mepps spinner and one on the brass biggest was 8" but they ATTACK the spinners hard!
Both are fantastic and you really can’t go wrong with either! That being said, I give the slight edge to mepps because they produce a wider variety of sizes and colors.
In-line spinners are hard to beat, fishing for pretty much any game species. Great video. Thanks for posting
Great job getting some fish to bite on a beautiful March day! Nice job Dave!!

Those Mepps catch everything!

Love throwing the Mepps! Great lure for almost any situation!
No doubt! It’s lasted through the years for a reason 👍
I been doing great this year on Mepps spinners. I cant stop buying them I have about 20 now.
They're awesome lures no doubt!
They’re high quality . Must be why they work so well .
Great video using that mepps lure will be getting a couple of them for me and my son.
Awesome, good luck out there!
Great video bro and you know I love my Mepps. One of the most versatile lures out there 👍
Thanks bro! The mepps sure knows how to get it done out there!
great video! You're a great play-by-play guy.
Thanks David! I appreciate that

It’s a rubber net, that way hooks and other things don’t get stuck in it lol

@@ubernate860 Haha I didn’t know that they existed until a couple years ago. They’ve made my life so much easier on the water! Highly recommend 👍
wow what a fun day, I still haven't made the time to get out. So busy

Great channel
Mepps is my number one lure when fish are just not biting.
Old faithful!
@@Orange22Fishing pink will forever be my Mepps
I throw a mepps first and last number two comet minnow great for a bass or two after work .
In Kansas, Mepps with skirts are best for ponds, Mepps without skirts are best for lakes. Why or how, I have no idea.
Bass bite is picking up. Time to get out there. But, I’ve been busy lately… 🙄
I feel ya bro! Tough to find the time!
Great Chanel
Ok so I’m new to fishing. Dumb question what pound line are you using?
For a light spinning combo like Im using, I use 6 pound monofilament line 👍
I have caught more bass on that exact lure than any other lure in my tackle box haha
When all else fails, it always comes through!
I agree. Awesome video.
I find they really love the black fury but I'll have to try this one!
Hey is the Mepps 2 to big for regular size stocked trout
Not at all. That’s a good size
What pond did you go to Dave? I am still waiting the call...lol
I’ll call you a little later tonight
@@Orange22Fishing yes where is this. I go to DE to surf fish but would love checking out some freshwater
@@RiseOrRelinquish This was at moores lake in dover. Surf fishing is hot right now here! Uploading a great surf fishing vid tomorrow
Do you like a Mepps vs Panther Martin?

Mepps makes an xd which is like panther Martin . Plus many more different styles and colors .
Mepps 2 Aglia even a big bass will hit it
🤦🏻♂️🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷
