I made it yesterday.....it turned out awesome....added a little pasta to it & mixed herbs....& in place of wine added white vinegar....thank u for the recipe....
Made this recipe last night with NY strip steak and potato wedges...another incredible dish Steve thank you. Our family sends our love to yours and happy holidays!
Hi Steve, love the recipy, will try it-------NOW!!! BTW, if you don't have any heavy cream, can you use a bit of milk and cornflour instead? any other idea for substitute? Thanks mate
This dish was amazing, I tried to remember it & just sort of winged it & didn't use your measurements. I made the mistake of using the whole lemon & it came out a bit too tangy for my liking. I also added cilantro instead of parsley.I can't wait to make it again & follow your exact measurements. I got very inspired & had a spontaneous moment & decided to make my first cooking video making this dish & also a fish marinade, it was an amazing dinner. THANK YOU very much for inspiring me,it was fun
Its good to see you put love into your food, its the little things that make a huge difference when your cooking and it really shines through even on something as basic as a mushroom sauce, Im gonna subscribe
I looking for some thing like that and glad that I found it. I like to cook from time to time and will really enjoy it. Thanks Steve that video very nice and helpful.
Hey Chef, I really enjoyed your video, great job. My question is, are you using white wine people drink or white wine that is normally used for cooking? Actually anyone may answer if you know it would be helpful and thank you all.
I found this while searching for a sauce to serve over grilled chicken breast. I followed your recipe exactly only changing to slice mushrooms instead and it was excellent. I am now a subscriber, looking forward to trying more of your recipes. Thanks Steve!
@m1as3900 Glad you like the recipe! You can certainly use a milk based slurry as a substitute, but as I have never tried that myself, I am not sure what the ratio would be precisely. I would suggest you make a weak slurry and add it bit by bit until your sauce has the consistency you like. Do keep in mind that as it stands the cornstarch will become a little thicker. Good luck and let me know the results! cheers :)
Hi Steve, I am making this tomorrow. Can you please tell me the actual amounts other than a dash of white wine and heavy cream? Also how much salt, pepper and parsley? I just want it to turn out right. Oh and can you use any kind of white wine?
I made the mushrooms and it was wonderful. My kids and husband are all mushroom lovers so this was a big hit for dinner. The mushrooms had a lot of flavor with onions, garlic and lemon. Yummy! It was a little bit challenging for me to make since I doubled the recipe. I need to prepare all my ingredients like you do in the video so when I start cooking I am all ready to go. Next time I will be more organized and it will be easier. Thanks for the great recipe. :)
@crungen5 You can....but the white wine is the gem in this dish. The white wine gives it a light tang taste, which makes the dish beautiful and light. Red wine would make it a little too heavy in taste.
Love it Steve! Now I need to know exactly how much butter, white wine and heavy cream to use so that I can make this. Lol, Your dash and a little bit may be different from mine. Also what white wine would you suggest to cook with?
hi stevee.. i really wish to get the mushroom in my own kitchen immidiately... but i dont have cream... can i change to full milk cream? thanks alot for ur reply ya... :)
I know where Arthur is coming from as I also cook. But I think everyone has its own way to contribute to the recipe. I appreciate for your upload and I'm gonna try it out as the recipe appears so delicious. Thanks :)
stevescooking Steve: I need to make a batch about 10 times or more larger than what you have here. Our church fellowships have over 50 people. Any suggestions about bumping up the ingredients. Thanks, Bill
I just made those bad boys with a nice baguette for dipping. Exactly what i wanted it to be. Some time ago i used to go over to france in the elsass, im from germany, and had often frog legs in a sauce like this. ever wondered how to do it, rly thank you. This could fit some chicken breast stripes very well too, im going to search for something that will. Love the style of your videos, keep them coming. The mood makes you wanna watch it a whole evening and get inspired. Great work.
this is probably a silly question but im trying look for recipes to cook as ive nether really attempted to cook properly but can you use red wine instead ?
Spoon these babies over a humble hamburger patty and you'll think you're dining at a high-end restaurant. I think I'm addicted. My only variation is cutting the mushrooms coarsely if they're very large. Thanks, Steve!

This Looks great Steve, i'm gonna try it. Is it mainly a side dish or could you pour all that over pasta and have it?
@crungen5 You can....but the white wine is the gem in this dish. The white wine gives it a light tang taste, which makes the dish beautiful and light. Red wine would make it a little too heavy in taste.

I don't have wine or parsley--can I just skip them? Or would it ruin the recipe too much?
