One of the reason that motivates me to go work is knowing that i will be driving my subie.

Right on
Hopefully me one day🤞🏼

What us more fun to drive? Veloster n or this ?
night drives in my wrx is my therapy. keep up the great vids
Same here . I used a quarter tank just driving around the city the other night . I Love her . She’s so beautiful n fun to drive 😊

Bruh I need to get one
Me too!
I just bought the Limited. I’ve wanted a Subaru WRX since 2005. I finally got one.
How much did it cost you?
@@_u0nda928 Everything.
Marcus lmaoo a kidney and a liver
Keep the manual transmission and mechanical ebrake please SUBARU!!
Oh yeah
Mferrrs talking about only auto for wrx tf.
I agree wholeheartedly 👍🏿
Seems like Subaru doesn't care about the manual. They dropped it for the 5th gen Forester. I hope the CVT is reliable.
Yesssirrrr
Your recent WRX videos are helping me survive the last couple weeks in my 2+ month long wait for my own WRX... Got the call last week the boat has landed and barring any COVID related delays I should have my own Rex in just over a week!
Theres wrxs everywhere where i live. I couldnt imagine ordering one. Theres 20 of them at the dealership up the road
@@xTriangle Ah that's fair. I specifically wanted Gray and there weren't any in my area that were able to be traded for (I've bought multiple Subaru at this dealership before, they give me a solid price). If I'd wanted blue I could have walked off the lot with one, silver would've been trading with a Toronto dealership but I figured waiting for my favourite was worth it... And so far I've been right!
I love that you can hear the turbo on the interior...
My cousin just got one today and it was amazing
these videos are really relaxing for some reason
I purchased a 18 premium and I love it, along with the night drives around the country roads.
I absolutely love that you use a turn signal when required. It's refreshing to see anymore.
you love him for doing what 90% of drivers on the road do? Weird.
@@say-cred You obviously don't live in California. 95% of people here absolutely refuse to use them.
@@say-cred not sure where you’ve been but nobody uses their turn signal in the US.
@@say-cred You’re joking. Over the past couple of days I have seen a lot of people not signal their intentions. I live in California. This one driver thought it was a great idea to slow down and turn right without signaling, but there was no dedicated right turn lane (bike lane and a narrow unmarked piece of road, not wide enough to fit a whole car). Pretty infuriating because I thought they were pulling over to the side of the road, but they were actually turning right. And I’ve seen plenty of drivers who don’t signal when changing lanes. Lots of bad drivers on the road.
2020 owner here - amazing cars, even on the limit, the rev hang is much improved and is not an issue, the power drop off between 4500-5500 is noticeable but it still feels quick. It's a great reliable daily/track toy! It actually feels faster then it is too, previously had a Golf 7R and this is a much better drivers car.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I hear the opposite for some people. Those who switch from the WRX to the Golf R praise how much better of a car the R is. Good to hear your insight on it!
Steve I sound lame but is the auto still pretty good? Cvt trans? Don’t know how to drive manual well
PNW VLOGS honestly no, CVT it a terrible transmission for a sports car, you’d be better off in a Golf R/GTI if you need auto
@@pnwvlogs9460 I have the cvt and I'm really enjoying it! Love it actually. Almost had mine a year coming up soon. Test drive one first, that's what I did. On top of that you get all the latest safety upgrades
@Suggon Deez 🤮🤮🤮🤮
These night pov drives are my favorite type of vids.
Amusing how helpful this sort of video is, versus all of the others featuring some random talking head speaking about the "lines on the body" and crap like that. Just a nice, quiet drive with some opinions shared. Very nice, thanks.
That is a really good video!! Thank You!!
You are now my second favourite car reviewer ever, keep up the good work and keep capturing how it is to drive a car and going over everything relevant to owning one
Nice review. Love your channel!
Great vids. Honestly I watch a ton of his vids to fall asleep to😂

the wrx is what motivated me to learn how to drive manual, i’d legit be heartbroken if they switch to automatic before i can get my hands on a brand new one 😭😭
The CVT is so shit cancelling the manual would be shooting themselves in the foot, I doubt they will
@@traviswebster8302 it would be a dual clutch not a cvt
I just leased a 2021 WRX base and I can't wait to drive it !
Ordered a WRX Premium with the performance package a month ago and waiting for it to come in. Happy that there's still a car out there that is stick shift with 4 doors. My dog will love it too lol
Got my 2018 base WRX in June and absolutely love it.
I have a base 16 wrx I love it BUT I regret not spending the extra to get a higher trim :/
Boogie Jules Yea I totally get that. My biggest gripe is not have the 18 inch wheels and the seats but 🤷🏻♂️
@@byrne6348 oh yea the driving experience makes up for it. But i drive mine about 90 miles day for work and back and sometimes I'd like to blast the stereo lol
1 year later still love it. No issues :)
Driving in the summer is my cup of tea, but I see a lot of driving videos in the winter
Love night drive 😍😍😍
I love the color and hoping to get 2021 premium model.
Thank you for using turn signals, lead by example!
I want one! I love the shift sounds. Click click. Click click.
Love it ♥️
Hopefully you can do a review on the Series White Sti.
I'm more of a honda guy but man these subarus are nice. Really want to get myself a subaru wrx after I learn how to drive manual
Beautiful
i liked this car im thinking to buy in future
honestly seems like a fun car
just picked up my 2020 base model today and loving it. came with sti short throw, fogs, weather mats for just 28k. much less than the premium and less weight
Did the same in 2019. Now modded haha.
@@Ace62595 sameeeeeee lmao lightly modded
Wow weather mats and fog lights included ? For just 28 thousand dollars?? What a steal!
@@thegraffboy123 yes i couldn't pass up on it. Base model is slept on. You can find them with all the options for less than a premium or limited
I got offered 25.5k for 21s lol now thats a deal ok?
Nice little car. The WRX really appealing for the price. Maybe not this specific one, though I do like the wheels, etc.
I have a 2020 WRX and I think this review is pretty dead on. Well done.
so I might buy one tomorrow just based on the sound
I have the same exact car except its a base and i love it!
If you get the base level, the price is less than an optioned out Corolla! And you are getting a real drivers car for about $27k.
I envy the US, at least for car tax. 27k there would turn out like 50k+ for the exact same car in europe
@@ck5558 what
@@dwade3202 💯
@@ck5558 why wouldnt you want? bcuz it eats a lot of fuel? and bcuz fuel in US is cheaper? thats why not?
but fuel in EU as of now is also quite cheap at least in Slovenia it is 1€/liter
which isnt bad at all considering some might be having 1,65€ like italy, then austria or croatia 1,3€ etc... but not really sure since i havent checked it, but here as i said it is 1€ which is really reasonable, but this car really eats fuel fast and is probably meant for American market with cheaper fuel economy
and if you know the dealership guys maybe you could get it for 26,995 like i did :)
Buying my Subie probably sometime next year
"Too old..." - Meryn Trant, dismissing the aging WRX platform

Im thinking to wrap it, either Pearl White, Nardo Grey or Hyperblue. Can suggest?
Is wrap good or bad
Sickest cars.
Nice car!!
I can hear how stiff the suspension is by how the tires crash over bumps. Not that it’s a big deal but how would you rate the suspension overall for the kind of car it is?
I wonder if the the security guard was just making sure he made car review safe at night. I personally think Subaru dominates when it comes to manuals. I want either the WRX or the STI
Or trying to score some vape juice
TheTopher lmao
TheTopher blueberry adds 2 extra lbs of boost iirc
I had a 15, bought new. Rev hang blew, transmission was meh. Probably never buy one ever again. A lot of random issues and CELs even with proper maintenance and never Launched it.
I’ve driven an older WRX STI before and the only thing i’d change is putting in a heavier clutch
It's so weird seeing the road signs and realizing exactly where he's at lol.
you drive like me lol, signaling even when no one’s around/in empty parking lots. good habit to be in.
Totally agree with you. I always signal, even when there is no one around and now it has become a good habit of mine. It doesn’t feel right when I don’t signal.
they revised the rev hang for 2020, people complaining probably have earlier models.
the rev hang is still there just not as bad. I put 43k miles on my wrx and when i test drove the series white it was definitely still there
I own a 2020 and the rev hang is very present
@@EulogizingSleep get an accessport to get rid of some of that rev hang and turbo lag. Definitely worth
i pro tuned that shit out of my car and im glad i did with all my 301 horseprr to the wheels!
Access port.
so you didn't have any jerking motion between 1st-2nd transition. Hats off to you because myself included had issues getting perfectly smooth. all others gears perfect transition.
same with me lol I had my car since May but my 1st to 2nd is smoother now it's just practice
The trick is to shift at the right rpm all the time
You could also put in the stiffer engine torque mount to help. Helped a little in mine. The stock one is literally made out of plastic with soft rubber bushing. It’s the mount under the top mounted intercooler. Good $100 bucks
@@1lesavage lol that is whole problem its very sensitive you gotta just get it just right. Ive driven almost every country mfg and this clutch most finicky. Hondas and Mazda are supreme in my own experience. Subaru just feels raw and rigid.
just picked mine up today and 1-2 is slightly rough. every other gear smooth as butter even my downshifts. but that 1st - 2nd living in NYC is gonna take me some time
that responsive headlight makes me think limited is worth the price for safety at night
They come standard on the STI and believe me they’re great
This model is the “limited series white”. Only so many made. Basically it’s a premium trim wrx with upgrades. The limited top trim wrx will have these lights aswell. Except that will have a sunroof with regular leather seats. Won’t have the performance goodies on this “limited white series”.
I’d say so. I nearly smoked a couple walking in the dark wearing dark clothes on a blind corner. My passenger mirror was only an inch or so away from the person’s arm.
or just learn to drive and look?
I have it on my 18’ Limited and Id have to say, its REALLY good. Its not like “just learn to drive and look” like the guy before me said. One of the best things about the WRX is its visibility through all windows. With the added feature of responsive headlights, you literally can see everything right away. Its a great safety feature
Good family car.
how does the suspension with the Bilstein dampers feel compared to a regular WRX?
Very nice
I love how the headlights are like bmw when you turn they also turn
6:18 dont worry nobody will notice that
No one would care anyway
It’s dark outside, think I might go for a drive too...
BMO aaah, you ask a good question. The FA20 engine itself is not worse, it is a great engine by design. It could be optimized with both port and direct injection to keep the valves clean, but it is otherwise a good engine and it is the beginning of the future. That said...
What made it unappealing to me in the standard WRX is the transmission, which is cable actuated and not as durable as the STI transmission. The STI transmission is rod actuated, much more durable, and has much more optimized gear ratios. It also has mechanical diffs.
If you plan buying the new STI in the next few years, the WRX might be what holds you over. But if you want a slice of the past while you can still get it new, and a sturdy, proven transmission, then get the STI. The STI is a nostalgia car, and the transmission sold me. The EJ20 engine is old, but people know how to work on it. And I like my valves being cleaned by that port injection.
I will keep my STI forever hopefully. It is now my snow weapon, there are cars with more power, but when it is gone everyone will miss it.
depressing beyond words that a wrx is only sold as a sedan. after owning a hatch for the past 11 years i could never give up the practicality it offers. would have went with a WRX, but hyundai is getting my money instead with the veloster N.
Hey great vid man, do u drive with traction control on or off?
1. I drive wit traction off on a normal dry day drive. Not everything off. Fuel is better too.
2. Leave it on (default is always on) on rainy wet days for better traction or when U prefer traction at its full.
3. Everything off when tracking or u need full power to get out of stuck/ mud/snow etc
How would you compare the Auto WRX vs Manual?
Are you losing much by choosing the Auto?
Can you do me a favor and hold WOT (do not let up) and do a hill climb in 4th to 5th to 6th gear (if it will even hit 6th)? And can you read out the oil temps after 20 seconds. 3%-9% grade if possible. I only have experience with the 2.5L (not this engine), but that thing gets HOT at WOT uphill.
Can’t touch those 6 speeds of Honda. Best manuals out there.
@BMO Depends you want FWD or AWD. Also depends on what mods you wanna do.
I love my 17 WRX. The rev hang is apparent on the 2017, but I've learned to work around it letting the clutch out slower in 2nd and 3rd. For the money, you can't get a more rewarding, practical, quick car. And AWD? I'll take 2.
is that what you’re supposed to do? that’s literally the only thing i still have an issue with lol. not 3rd but 1st to 2nd is terrible and so jerky.
How’s the reliability on the new WRXs? I really want one, but reliability is a big thing as I’m sure it is for most folks.
Subie gang gang!
The FA20 is 9 years old now but I still think it’s a new platform too 😂
i love new sti's
I'm really sad Subaru is moving away from Double Din headunits and moving to giant distracting touch screens. The interior on this car is very comfy looking.
Only with tomei type r this car is complete :)
Need opinions: I have a 04 wrx sti with 80 k miles on it. Its my dream car, I worked hard to get it. The car is stock and immaculate damn near. No mechanical issues or anything. I was thinking about selling and using the money towards one of these as I am 26 now and was thinking I don't really need a flashy race car anymore... I just really loved the old style of old wrx stis because the newer ones were kind of bleg tbh. But something about the 2020 wrx is making me want to switch... Idk what to do man.
Stock 04 with 80k miles? If you can... hold on to it or at least do some research on how much you could get for it...

Was this such a limited edition that there's none for sale anywhere?
the 4.444 FD is great on this car
You forgot to say that the focus RS is also gone...here in Africa we have the megane sport version added to the mix.
Where are you in Africa? Is the WRX offered/popular there?
@@sshah2545 I'm living inn Mozambique. Part of the SADEC region. Southern Africa. The WRX is very popular in South Africa and Namibia mainly because the AWD system is more utilized there...plus the different terrains with the sand and all requires awd sedans. Here in Mozambique we don't necessarily need awd sedans, most of us look for at least 1 4x4 with a truck frame.
Dingane Nhaúle that is so cool, thank for you sharing. I’m always interested to see the regional differences in cars.
I live in Canada. And if I got to Hong Kong, they basically have all the same cars we do, except the short wheel-base/small versions.
Europe, again is different, etc. I’ve never been to Africa. Love hearing that the car is popular there as well!
@@sshah2545 The sedan version of the wrx sti is super hot down in south africa. Young dudes love them, I would love to go to Canada one day after international travel ban is lifted. I would love to watch the raptors play.
Dingane Nhaúle lol, Toronto is cool, skip the rest of Canada bro. Beautiful country to drive though, but about as boring as anywhere can be. I would leave in a heartbeat if I could.
Would this be a good car for someone new to manual? Considering this along with the civic si and veloster n
Yeah it’s not to bad. Although Honda SI are fun as well and more forgiving.
I’ve owned Honda’s and Subaru’s and Nissan Zs.
Now have 19 wrx and it’s a great car.
how did you get carplay on your head unit??
Mans is signaling at non-intersecting points but doing a rolling stop at every stop sign.
Is there anyway you can turn off that annoying start up bell
Lol
Uses trafficator in parking lot, MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!
Get a COBB knob. You'll hate the stock knob after.
Not sure if anyone is going to see this. I was at the dealership today and ALMOST leased one. I was going to put $5000 down to get a lower lease payment. BUT, thats the thing, it doesnt really make sense to put a down payment on something if its just going to be a lease. Can I afford it? Yes. Am I stressing too much about it? Absolutely.
Do you recommend getting a wrx for beginner to learn manual?
Any cR will do for learning youll have the hang of in a day. Dont hesitate to get the car you want
Ayyeeee laurel park
How are the suspension?
The EVO is gone...😭
Found one for 30k @ 20k+ miles. Might pull it If I can’t find something else
With an updated gauge cluster this wouldn’t feel so dated, but especially at night i just think it looks old.
@BMO same here. I think the white and red looks awesome. I prefer analog gauges. I was upset that the Mustang went to a strictly digital display.
tf u need tech in a wrx for
tortuga no one needs anything other than for a car to run, but people like having something that looks cool in their car, and the gauge cluster is something that the driver looks at all the time. Aesthetics are part of the experience of being in the car.
BMO a nicer gauge design does not mean more tech (there is such a thing as too many screens.) For a good example look at Acura’s updated gauges. Still analog but a cool throwback design.
Looks newer than my vx clubby
The only Rival rival golf r
After going stage 1 the wrx stock is just not fast enough the rev hang is atrocious, 30% throttle fells like 100%, and there is not power after 4.5k and you can feel the dip. If you want a sign to go get a Cobb accessport this is it
Welcome you have just clicked a free therapy video
Hooo... I feel like im driving it....
I had a 2018 wrx even with a cob tune the rev hang was atrocious. It took all the fun out of driving a manual. Every car I have owned for the last 23 years has been a manual. 240sx, mx6, rsx type s, tuburon v6, civic si, TL type s, mustang gt. I really wanted to like the wrx so much but after 2 years I just couldn't stand it anymore and had to let it go.
Shifting was that bad? What would you think a smooth shifting car would be 2015+
a sports car for enthusiast drivers MUST be manual
is that at phoniex theaters??
The rev hang in these cars makes them very hard to smoothly shift or down shift.
Damn it’s still there
I’m torn between getting this or a brz and I truly can not decide
nathan whitmer turbo my friend turbo. But really both are excellent driver’s car. You will be a winner either way. 👍
wrx. turbo and practicality. way more fun. AWD
Wrx is extremely unreliable and breaks down easily. Subarus have many problems with there cars and can never fix the transmission from breaking down. A Subaru is a money pit
@@Tender_vigilante Let me guess, the problem is the head gasket.
I have a 2018 WRX and my brother has the 2017 BRZ, both cars are extremely fun and I love having that difference in experience of driving them. Personally speaking, I love my WRX because of seating capacity, ground clearance and stiff suspension, walks on snow and the car easily climbed an uphill unpaved road with major potholes without struggle. I'm amazed at its capabilities.
