    Just a correction, I said this is based on a "Limited" WRX - that should've been a "Premium." I will never understand Subaru's trim naming logic.

    • @nelsonsantana6778
      @nelsonsantana6778 3 роки тому +43

      @@erinsonlara478 its not too many trims.. as they only have 3. the confusion is with the naming of the last 2 trims. it throws people off. if you were to hear premium you'd assume that it would already be the fully loaded model but for subaru its really the limited that is the fully loaded one.

      "series white and gray" really is its own thing taking the best bits of premium and limited and adding more. They should of just left it at that instead of tacking on the premium label. It makes it confusing

    4,000 mi on my 2019 WRX. Ready to swap tires for the winter. Three years driving a Mazda CX5 and I was ready for something fun. WRX hasn't disappointed. Avg 30 plus mpg and its fast enough to get me inntrouble. Glad someone still builds a car like this for us old school drivers. Former Subaru owner here 2006 Impreza, 2006 Outback XT.

    You my friend are my kindred spirit. I was envisioning ‘clicking’ my feet before entering, like I always do, and you did it yourself! As if I imagined it and it happened. Tapping the gravel off this way really helps to keep the car cleaner, longer. In the winter it’s especially handy. Weird observation, I know, but it’s totally true.

    I just bought one of these new about 6 months ago and I love it, this review was what really solidified my decision. I did not get the series.white, so I didn't get all of the goodies. I will say that the stock speakers are absolute trash. My wife's base trim 2008 Honda Civic has better clarity in the midrange. The brakes on the normal WRX do the job but there's a lot to be desired. The seats are comfortable but they could definitely be bolstered a little better.
    However, I will say that this car is an absolute blast to drive. It is my first manual. I drove an STI only a handful of times prior to buying my WRX, so 95% of my experience driving manual is solely in this car. If you don't know how to drive stick, this car is challenging to learn on. Since I've owned it, I've driven a Mustang GT, Focus RS, STI, GTI, Civic SI and a handful of other cars and they're all incredibly easy to drive in comparison. The WRX is a very responsive car in a sense that everything you do right or wrong, it'll let you know how it feels about every input you make. Very satisfying once you get it right. I could write an incredibly long review about this car but your video hits all of the marks incredibly well. Thank you for doing these reviews, I don't know if I would've made the decision to buy this car and learn manual if you never made this. Driving my car has become my absolute favorite thing to do and it brings me so much joy. Thank you!

    No hate or anything, i like the review overall. I have a 2020 sti and work for a subie dealer so i have to say, the wrx is not a new old car. My sti is 😂 the FA20 wrx’s have a new engine with direct injection, equal length headers and a twin scroll turbo. It doesn’t sound or drive like an old wrx and I laughed my ass off when i heard him mention turbo lag. THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE TWIN SCROLL TURBO, NO LAG! The current sti is a new old car and that’s why I bought it, but the gap between the sti and wrx has never been wider. Used to be a budget version of the sti but now it offers some great advantages OVER the sti so it’s more about what you want. Modern engine with a dailyable power band and a softer ride, better mpgs, minimal effort to run ethanol, etc. The reason you want an sti is a stiffer chassis, better brakes, EJ25 so the tuning support is unlimited, and better suspension. (And i think the slight turbo lag on the sti is fun) Otherwise I love they vid, keep it up man 👌

    I have a 2017 Limited, it's a great little car overall but that factory throttle mapping was annoying sometimes. It has a lot of character, with a few mods it really comes to life. I like the seats from this one and the suspension/brake upgrade.

    I had a tough time deciding on this or the GLI. I went with the GLI because the interior is gilded plush and, for automatics, DSG is pretty slick. The GLI is a fun, practical car so I still envy you WRX guys.

    I can’t wait to see you drive the new one since I have a deposit on one. Despite the controversy of the looks, it sounds like they have improved an already good drivers car. I was torn between the WRX and the Elantra N but with Hyundai dealers all within driving distance wanting $5,000 over MSRP for an Elantra N while Subaru is only asking MSRP, kind of made my decision. Also, the struts in the back of the Elantra make it a little less practical. I also have never driven an AWD “performance car” so I am interested in the WRX, and the resale value is great if I decide to upgrade later.

This WRX is very nice, I didn’t realize they were doing a special edition. I owned a 2006 STi and truly regret ever parting with that car, it was magic and mine was absolutely perfect.

    Didn't know you can get recaros in a WRX which is dope. After watching you're other car Reviews it made me notice how outdated and practical the wrx actually is for its age lol. I'm excited to see the new 2022. Hopefully it'll have more option like lane keep assist and blind spot monitering. I can't believe they still even have keys for 2020s+

      HappeninG That is a joke. Stage 1 is to fix the drive ability. It only adds like 10hp? It doesn’t require you to put an aftermarket air intake or any of that.
      If your scared of the dealer voiding your warranty, don’t do it. You can flash it back to stock tune anytime.
      Let’s say your exhaust hanger broke off or your door lock stopped working. How would they claim that since you did an aftermarket tune we are not liable?
      Let’s say you modify your car, change out the air intake. Then you throw a Cel, you bring it in. Then they can say it’s because of the intake we can’t do anything about it. By the way I’ve used the perrin intake, just for more noise and there is no check engine light.
