I’m test driving a 2020 Premium in red with the short throw shifter tomorrow. I’ve seen so many UA-cam videos about the WRX that I’ve already made up my mind. I can’t wait.
Just picked up my 2020 Limited this morning, after waiting weeks for it to travel across country from the Vancouver port of entry. Thanks covid! Aside from a few minor shipping scars that need to be addressed, I love this car! It's even better looking in the metal than in photos or videos and it drives like nothing else I've owned...and I've owned quite a few vehicles in my 34 years of driving. Mine also has the Starlink/Haran Kardon infotainment, STI short shifter (amazing), as well as a handful of other port installed accessories that I probably wouldn't have chosen, but I can't complain because I got a great deal on it.
How long did the shipping take? I live in Toronto and just got an email that mine is going to be shipped soon, 2020 limited, and from the accessories which ones do you think are worth it or not
@@sayenthengnanaratnam122 I'm not sure how long it took from Japan to Vancouver, but it took almost a month just to get from Vancouver to my dealer in Ohio. Some of that time was probably spent installing accessories at the port. My car also arrived with some minor damage from somewhere in the shipping process. My car came loaded from the factory including the Starlink infotainment package. The only other optional accessories I wanted were the short shifter, homelink mirror, center arm rest extension and the LED footwell lighting. My car came with all that except the footwell lighting (which I can install myself). It also has a few other overpriced accessories I didn't want, including the $230 carbon fiber trim above the rear license plate. In any case, what accessories you want is really a personal choice.
I just got a 2020 WRX premium and holy shit I love it. It’s really made driving fun again. My first manual was a 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye and it always felt like I was fighting with the clutch and shifter to get it to do what I want but the WRX almost drives me.
Limited looks like a nice option for a daily. However I feel the STI limited might might be worth the extra money for me. Because I feel the LSD might be handy in the winter. Plus even though the EJ drinks a lot. It has that nice rumble to it, but the FA 20 still has a good boxer sound to it.
At 20 yrs old, you'd likely have to pay a small fortune to insure a WRX. Even at 50, I'm paying higher premiums than I've ever paid for any other car I've owned. Unfortunately, WRX owners have a (not so great) reputation and that has likely driven rates up. Best thing to do is call your insurance provider and get a quote before purchasing.
@@angry-white-men Insurance rates are highly dependent on state and local regulations dependent because every jurisdiction has differing policies. Plus, I'm also insuring a house, which entitles me to a package deal. You'd be better off going to the WRX forums online and talking to people near where you live.
@@codyreed8315 Woah. I thought $250 on my 08 Accord Sedan was bad. I'm 20 also from Rhode Island. What state are you in that your insurance is that high?
I am not 100% sure, but I believe it is just a matter of interior and feature upgrades. The Premium comes with leather and a few nice upgrades, and the Limited adds all the features possible in the infotainment and interior
I got mine, a 2019 limited CVT, because of the winter reputation. I love mine. I just wish it would snow more. Um, I hate to be a backseat driver, but hands on the wheel, pls!! At least one hand, lol. I’d be nervous af if I was the dealership watching this video. 😁
Just had mine delivered. It's been years since I have driven manual and damn, have I missed it. This car is so much fun. Great P.O.V dude!
Driving one for over a year now. Zero regrets.
How's it in the snow? Did u get all seasons or dedicated winter tires

Check out my account I have a video of me n my lady on the Subaru
@@frankENZC Nice! A new WR Pearl Blue 2021 WRX Premium is two weeks old in my garage 😎
@@HODL_BTC Awesome Mike! I'm enjoying mine but still only 2950 miles on it. :)

Love it working hard to get it

Cylinders do not move towards each other. They run horizontally off of a center crankshaft.
I never owned a WRX, but I know the wave. People love the Hawkeye

I’ve had both and ngl the lower boost times on the wrx help it in the winter ngl the sti will wheel spin pretty easy even on winter mode
I’m getting this car when I’m 18, absolutely love it
Great review! I have a brand new December (2020) WRX Premium 6 speed manual! Its awesome!
Good choice!
Great video and review, keep it up man!
That interior looks real cheap considering the high price tag.
It looks hella simple but also cheap. Which my mom would love😂😂😂😂
It’s a wrx not a bmw 🧐
I’m 20 years old do you think I should buy this car? I’m on my own insurance. Seeking a 2017-2020 premium

I’m also 20. I was quoted 579 monthly through Allstate for a new Wrx on my own policy, 349 if I went on with parents insurance plans.

What would happen if you put a bigger turbo in it
Would you happen to know what the difference between the limited and premium are?

You sound like a Subaru salesman...suspicious....
Had a forester. 2015. Awful in bad weather. Too light. Danced around and hydroplaned too easily. Downright dangerous evn in snow
Is a CVT Wrx good to get?
CVT is pretty bad In my opinion , but your choice
35k! Jesus, just buy a base sti for 3k more 😳

Ehhh 1999 gen
Most boring review 😴
Was waiting for the pulls, 0-60 times, cover rev hang or turbo lag (which I hear a lot) or anything else. But it never came.
