The hotel was lovely. We didn’t spend much time there but it was so comfortable and was surprised at how specious it was.

Loved your travel day vlog, I sometimes feel after a long day of travel and then you arrive at your hotel you can feel a little overwhelmed, but then the next day you have to pinch yourself that you’re actually there, especially in New York, thank you for sharing and take care ☺️

I’ve been flying frequently for the last 15 years, including 4-6 times a week for work a decade ago. It never occurred to me to use the hot meal to melt the butter. Genius hack! I’ll remember that one.

Excellent video especially of the new T2 and of the plane. After much research I chose to flight with Virgin next year rather than Aer Lingus as their Premium Economy product is better value than the extra leg room seats of Aer Lingus and whilst the A321 Neo is a loverly new plane I am not a fan of Long Haul narrow body.
Hope you have a great trip. The hotel looked really nice. Last time I visited at stayed in a high room at the Hyatt Centric Times Square. Next year I am going to stay Downtown at Hotel Indigo which the same brand level of IHG as the one you stayed at.

Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment. We loved the new terminal 2 building. Lots of great places to shop and eat while your wait for your flight. We hope you enjoy your Virgin flight next year. We’ve flown with them quite a few times and live them. We loved Aer Lingus too and would definitely fly with them again. We understand what you mean about the narrow body. It was tricky when there were queues for the toilets mid flight but in the whole we loved our first flight with Aer Lingus.

Gem!! I have to touch the side of the airplane, too!! 😁👍 I was wondering what you thought of Aer Lingus. Seems like it was ok. My husband works for an airline (Alaska) and we're always comparing to see. We flew British from Seattle to LHR. Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed. 😳 I'd like to try Virgin. My favorite airline Ive flown, so far (other than our own, of course! 🤣) has got to be Hawaiian. Ohhhhh! That was pretty great. Yummy food! Super sweet flight attendants. And RUM PUNCH or POG just before we landed!!

Aw good to know it’s not just me. We really enjoyed our Aer Lingus flight. The flight attendants were wonderful and the flight itself was great. The plane was quite thin so not much space in the aisles when nipping to the bathrooms and the seats were in threes so it meant disturbing the third person when we wanted to get out but they’re the only things we weren’t happy with. The cost of the flight was quite reasonable too.
Ooh that’s so interesting that your husband works for an airline. I bet it’s so interesting. We’ve never used British Airways. We always usually fly Virgin. We love flying with them and the customer service is always excellent.
Ooh that sounds lovely flying with Hawaiian Airline. We’d love to go to Hawaii one day.

Your arrival into jfk is much much quicker as you arrive in t5 a jet blue domestic terminal as opposed to t4 international arrivals..

I'm travelling with Aer Lingus late this year to NYC and just concerned about the seat size and seat belt as I am plus size. How did they compare to virgin as I've flown with them to the US before 😊

Sorry for the late reply. We’re so glad you enjoyed our vlog and found it informative too. Ooh that’s a good question. So, compared to Virgin in my opinion the seat belts are slightly longer. I'll be flying this flight in November. Im nervous. Im okay with landing, but take off, I hate. It isn't fear, but I dislike the feel of take off. Like the force haha. I flew 6 times. 3 flights were propella planes, which i prefer as i dont feel the force as much. When I first flew on a jet to Fuertaventura, I was screaming. 😭

Aah thank you. We’re glad you found our video useful. We did our tests online and then we uploaded the results to the Verifly app as we were going with Aer Lingus. I
know it’s changed a bit now as you don’t need to test to get into the states but we found the verifly app really easy to use too.

@@TangledUpInFun many thanks. I had heard the Verifly app was having problems so I was curious about that. The testing is no longer required but proof of vaccine status and a declaration that you are vaccinated still is. Did you need to submit this stuff within a time limit, or just any time before take off?
Loved this! Im flying Aer Lingus next month economy but I am only taking carry on luggage, on the website it says 8kg for both hand bag and carry on. Did they weigh your carry on at the airport?

Do you pay for drinks with aer li gus I've only used virgin before and drinks are inclusive

We're flying with them in Nov (same route).... my first ever long haul flight. Are soft drinks unlimited or do you need to pay for some?
How long did it take to get through security?

We left from the Manchester Airport from new side of Terminal two and we were through security in about ten minutes. Our flight was in the afternoon though and we did arrive quite early just incase but it was all fine. Hope this helps.

Did you print off boarding passes before going to the airport and did you have to fill in a Passenger Disclosure and Attestation Form?

Hi,
No, we didn’t print our boarding passes as we were part of a group booking and we checked in at the airport. They printed our boarding passes at the check in desk. We also didn’t fill out a passenger disclosure/attestation form. We had to download the verifly app and everything was done through that. We also had to do a telehealth video Covid test no more than 24 hours before departure via zoom to get into the USA. Hope that helps. ☺️✨✨ Gem & Ant
