I fly Aer Lingus every year from Chicago to Switzerland and find that their Business Class is the best for the price. Last year, I paid less for Aer Lingus Business than I would have for Swiss full economy.
That about the price is one of the reasons I fly Aer Lingus between Stuttgart, Germany and Orlando. Delta has the same seat configuration, but crappy TV Screen and service. where I would change in Atlanta instead of Dublin, but over double the price. (If you are lucky, double). The other advantage is the US Customs in Dublin.

Nice video! Aer Lingus was a great airline to fly with, particularly for a first-time flyer. You had some nice views during takeoff! I hope to be on the left side of the plane at some point to get those views of the city, Jamaica Bay, and the airport during takeoff.

Nice video, glad you enjoyed Aer Lingus. The seat reminded you of JetBlue's Mint Class because it's the same! It's the Thomson Aero Vantage Seat made in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Both airlines have it customised slightly differently as you could tell.
The seat is also nearly the exact same as Malaysian business class.

Nice video. Flew Aer Lingus Business Class from Dublin to Boston in October last year. I had a great flight (daytime) with really attentive and friendly service from the cabin crew. I was in seat 1A just like you! Because it was a daylight flight I didn't get the chance to try out the bed so I was interested to see how you liked it. A 4.40am arrival in Dublin? - yikes!

Dan: I'm delighted that you had a good experience on your Aer Lingus flight. I was born and raised in Ireland and feel the urge to be patriotic about our national airline, but, honestly, I cringed as the video began because I remember all of my less than positive experiences on Aer Lingus. When my partner and I flew on Aer Lingus in 2017 (San Diego to Dublin, round trip) we were surprised to learn that our booked seats, at the last minute, changed, so we had to fly separately, without so much as an apology or a glass of white wine in a shamrock-embossed wine glass. The crew wore the "don't bother me" look on both the inbound and outbound flights. We flew economy. Maybe that was the problem. Now, sadly, we fly British Airlines on our annual trips to Ireland. Brexit and all. Keep up the great work!!!

Best airline out there for me! The crew are so Kind, The food is great and it is the true meaning of Irish people, I know that being an Irish person :) Also maybe the way they are so similar to jB mint is because they have a partnership with jB so that EI provide the Connection from Ireland/Europe and that jB flys to the domestic US destinations.

I have experienced other airlines across Europe and the US, including British Airways (Shite airline, no legroom whatsoever), Lufthansa and many others. Yes I have flown Aer Lingus a lot and still am proud of it as my national airline.

This time last year, my husband and I should’ve been on a trip from Ireland to NYC. It didn’t happen thanks to Covid. So, we re-booked for Easter 2021. And, of course, had to cancel. Again. Hoping to get away next year again but this video is great because it brings me back to previous trips with to NYC with our beloved national carrier 💕

The Dublin-Malaga route is so busy during summer Aer Lingus use an A330. It's an all Economy service but you can select a Business Class seat for €75 when booking the flight.

Personally would have got the seat behind 2a where u would have the storage bit on the isle side to give you more privacy. Also there are two seats in business with the storage bits either side on a single seat! Think it’s 3K and 5k they are the best ones to pick
Fly through Dublin or Shannon *to* the USA, and you get to enjoy an extra perk: US Customs & Immigration pre-clearance. Get that out of the way and your plane lands in the USA like a domestic flight. How well that works depends on the airport: I've done that thrice, and it was great in Philadelphia, just about OK in Newark, but horrible in Boston. Though they were apparently building a proper airside connector at the time I went through Boston.

Is it common to be able to have your bagged checked through even if you have a connecting flight with another airline/ticket? I'm learning how to maximize miles and am flying from my home to Chicago on a paid ticket on United and connecting to a international flight on AA. Was going to try to do everything in carry-on so I wouldn't have to worry about collecting my bag and checking in again. But if this is possible, I'd reconsider. Is it common or just some special luck you had this day?
It only works on airlines that are partners to begin with, and even then it isn't guaranteed. From United to AA you won't be able to check your bags unfortunately :/

Hey, does anyone have a hint on how to find the award availability for aer lingus flights? Like I know that I can search on United for award flights but there seems absolutely no availability for business class on the Route Dublin - Boston no matter on what dates I search..
Aer Lingus are owned by the same company that owns British Airways so why do Aer Lingus have a good business class and BA don't?
Because up until 2006 Aer Lingus was state owned and internationally applauded as a great airline and the Government of Ireland/Rialtas na hÉireann owned a significant share of 31% of Aer Lingus up until 2015

So you arrive at Dublin at 4:40am local time,what is there to do at that ungodly hour? What layover time was there before journeying on? Does Aer Lingus belong to any FF programs?
EI104 is actually scheduled to arrived at 05:10am but due strong tailwinds across the Atlantic it often lands way ahead of schedule! Aer Lingus has it's own FF programme, Aer Club which uses Avios like fellow IAG airlines British Airways and Iberia. Rejoining OneWorld looks likely in the future.

I enjoy your reviews. However, I wish you would add a few comments about the seating for couples flying together to your thorough reviews of single seating. Things like aisle access and whether privacy shields can be retracted in the paired seat section. Thanks

I always try to fly Aer Lingus whenever possible. Irish hospitality is famous across the world, and is very evident on board Aer Lingus. When flying to NYC, I always go via Dublin - even though I can fly direct from London with other airlines.I just wish Aer Lingus flew further afield. Apart from the USA and Canada, they only fly around Europe (and Turkey I think)

Great video as always, Aer Lingus is one of the best airlines out there. My advice for you is to cut the music and introduce engine sound to the channel.
