I found this hilarious how you are saying "It's clearly written....in uh...Chinese.... *throws it away*"
professortbag I'm selling bikes want one
that isn't the instructioin, that is the feature of the lock(I can read chinese)
P
it translates as....THIS LOCK IS SHIT.
But that was Japanese man
I can honestly say, I've never had a single thought about a lock, ever. Not until someone mentioned you on another totally unrelated channel. Now....I'm hooked. I love mechanical things and now I want a bunch of locks for no reason..thanks for that;-)
he got me that way to, now I nearly have a full pick set and have bought to many locks and can't stop trying to build better ones
trevor pierce OH MAN.. I already have too many expensive hobbies;-)
This one's not too bad compared to some. Lucky lots of people throw away locks pull out our think are broken
+Woodeso's Guitar Mods not so expensive when you pick other peoples locks with a hair clip(you can also take them home :P)
+Woodeso's Guitar Mods exact same story here. my desk now has a vise for holding locks. I have about 20 locks, about 5 lock pick sets and I pick padlocks (my own) on the train to/from work.
I can read Chinese, and those are not the instructions. They just tell you how convenient, safe and secure your lock is... which it isn't.
The actual instructions are on the inside, according to the text above the barcode.
You Look very good
you mean lock very good, but he aint
Sta Tom Bit late?
Alwin Look 😂
Stfu
Step one. Input 00000 and pull
Step two. Input 00001 and pull
Step three. Input 00002 and pull
Step four. Input 00003 and pull
Etc.
yeh!.....15 days later you have an open lock..result!
+hammersmash smash your calculations are way off. first of all it is actually 10,001 possible combinations.
+Ivan McDougall if you don"t know maths, then stfu,100000 is correct,i don"t need to calculate it at all, just use your maximum number + 1 is the maximum combination of the code of number lock
but doesnt it go to 0 as well
+Jacky Chak You can get as many combinations as the biggest number + 1 can be done in lock. Easy?
I'm gonna have so many bikes!
same haha
I saw that and I literally burst out laughing!
Including his
Lachlan Hamilton it isn't funny i am from Switzerland and e few month ago i buied a bike for 3 thousand sfr and a guy stole it
stay legal.
Wow. Just used this method on a pair of gym-locks I have (which are branded with the gym's logos and I bought directly from them).
I was into the locks within a couple of minutes every time. Even got so confident with the method I was blind-setting the code and not actually caring if I didn't know what it was.
I don't think I'm going to use a code-based number rotational lock again.
Oh, there's much better ones. But they cost more than £10.
Keyed locks are almost just as easy. NEVER buy a master lock, I'd go for a WB, Falcon or Abus. They are harder to pick
@@backwoodsjunkie08 the main difference is that a key lock generally requires tools (i.e. a pick and tension wrench) to bypass whereas this type of lock simply requires a bit of knowledge.
Now i can finally open a bicycle shop.
I can open a lock'd shop
Lol
With nearly 100,000 possible combinations, this really saves time.
59,049 combinations
Thisisnotmyrealname8 99999 combinations
No, you see, it's 9 x 9 x 9 x 9 x 9.
It's actually 10^5
so exactly 100000 combinations
oh yeah, you're right. What was I thinking? forgot zero
I’ve never stolen a single thing in my life, but locks have always fascinated me. When I was in middle school, I realized the locks on our lockers were very easy to open. Most of the kids wouldn’t fully wind the dial after shutting their locker, so all you’d have to do to open it is turn it clockwise and wait for some tension. Then pull up on the handle thingy and open sesame. Must have opened hundreds just for the fuck of it, and mind you, I never took anything.
Cool. Found a 4 digit lock at the gym today and i brought it home and managed to crack it open after an hour. Was actually pretty hard not gonna lie. Thanks for the vid
Legend. Thanks for this. I changed our combination accidentally whilst on the phone and this saved me from getting another one.
Thank you! I have one of these types of locks stuck on a water tap on the outside of the house I just bought. The previous owners left padlocks all over stuff in this house (not actually locking anything, just stuck in random places) and instead of just getting bolt cutters I'm going to learn how to pick the locks. Thanks!
Thank you for the wealth of knowledge you have shared with your viewers. I have enjoyed your videos for many years.
You are saving people's property by informing buyers. Thank you!
I tried this a a friends bike downtown and a couple others that I noticed as they were locking up; showed them how easy it was. This works on many types of combo locks. Convinced them to try a different key lock. Didn’t feel like getting into how easy those are as well.
Thank you for this video! It took me only a couple of minutes to pick a lock which I had forgotten the combination to. I still wanted to use the lock so the only other alternative was going through each possible combination which would have taken a life time XD
Great video. I love the feeling you get when you open a lock. It's like solving a puzzle. I am not too interested in stealing anything, but it's nice to know that you can get into anything.
I've been picking for a little over a year, all I can say is man my imagination runs wild just looking at all the locks that people use that I've been able to pick. Started with masters, then got a 50lb bag of assorted locks, plus a box of locks from Ebay from my wife. It's so much fun, I've made a few bucks extracting broken keys for people as well, but yeah fun not theft.
Thank you! My daughter has a word lock version of this, and forgot the combination. This helped me get it!
I must say, have been watching your videos for a while as I find them very interesting even though I've never gotten into lock picking (would like to though), today had the first need to actually try out something when my new housemate accidently changed the combo to the lock on the garage. I must say its a little bit concerning that a complete novice like me had the lock open in under a minute for what appears to be quite a hefty master lock. I think ill be investing in a halfway decent lock with a key, Thanks for the help and keep up the good work
One of these arrived from ebay today. Got it open in just under 3 minutes thanks to this video.
My first 'pick' ! I can see this game becoming an obsesssion.
Thank you I put one of these on a looker in my basement and forgot the combo. I accidentally tripped on you vid and now I can save my lock, thanks!
I learned something new today! Thanks Bill. I am going to try it out on my lock that I used to use on a gym locker. I forgot my combination.
Thank you :)
I just freed up mu old bicycle lock. Could have bought a new one, but this brings way more satisfaction ;)
We used to collect bike locks back in the early 70’s by doing exactly that.
Thank you very much. It is very very helpful. We tried several times, really push it down very hard. And it worked. 👍
there was a kid at school back in 1990 the had one of them cable combination locks, we used to pick it and move his bike, he was so confused when he came to get his bike! good old days!
That is insane!!! I just did a 4 roller! And I’ve never even tried “picking” a lock like this!!!
Thank you for this video. My child changed the combo on a master lock like this and I couldn't figure it out. 4 minutes into your video and the lock was open!
Thanks. I opened the 5 number combination lock on my kid's cycle after watching your upload.
You make it look so simple - Thx for the video.
Had this lock outside in the rain and the cold. It gets broken over time and wears out internally. Then you can not open it, so you will have to break it. The metal spring parts inside are delicate and they can rust or get worn out from the turning, if you use this lock every day 3 times or so.
If you have this lock, then oil it two or 3 times a year, if you do not want to be locked out.
Also if it's well oiled than it's harder to guess the combo, because the mechanism slides better.
thank you so much iv been trying for days 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.87,9,10,11 you get the idea your way took me 3 mins your a wizard
I figured out how to find the combo on those when i was 10 years old. Super simple to do and completely by accident i found that out. Almost all "cheap" combo locks will work this technique.
Happy Retirement Bill. This was probably one of the first videos I seen of yours (that I remember).
Had a lock with 5 letters on it and I finally got that sucker open using this method! Much help 👍
Thanks,.... With your help I robbed 3 shops,.... Thumbs up for ya buddy
LOL
Probably 7/11
I remember when I discovered this when I was around 11 or 12 and was so amazing with myself that every time I got the chance to show it off I would (obviously I didn't get to much cause I obviously have no interest in stealing someone's bike or belongings tho I do have a few abandoned combo locks laying around now lol)
convenient timing of this video, I have a nice 4 digit cable lock I need to get open for moving soon, forgot what I set the combo to
Why have I just spent hours watching videos on lock's. My parent's must be so proud.
I'm going to have one hell of a bike collection! thanks man
Thanks for the free house!
ollie.mp4 Why are you locking your house with a padlock?
worked. I've got one looks the same as yours(except with 4 dials instead of 5) in the video. Mine was a little difficult to open might be because of poorer quality(craftsmanship was not very good, took a long time to feel the right number). but with some time I managed to crack it. Thanks very much!
1.3 Million bikes were stolen after the release of this video :D
I have only watched one other of your videos besides this one, and learned so much ! You are awesome!!! TY,, 😁🖒
It works! Thank you, we locked ourselves out of our lock.
Thanks. just opened my 5-year-old gym lock. You saved me from buying a new one!!
On the combination lock that I opened, the feedback when you reach the correct digit isn't obvious on the wheel that i'm turning. What is obvious, however, is that one of the other wheels will become harder to turn.
thanks i finally unlocked my bike :/ i had forgotten the code numbers for it and i didnt wanna ruin the chain
You always have the coolest opening videos
Dude THANK YOU ! Some asshole bypass our lock in the basement with that kind of digit lock, I watched your video and it took me like 2 minutes to pick the lock. Also made my husband proud of me haha ="D .
I used to do this very same thing with padlocks, it takes a bit, but you can feel the bite as it hits the correct number
So... I had one like this that I set the combo on years back and was trying to work out what I set it as when I found it in storage. If I know it was this easy the damn thing would have been open long ago... Thanks. ^.^
I have a bad habit of setting locks and forgetting the combo. I have a good lock like this one that I couldn’t solve and I need it for escape rooms. I was scared but then I saw this and I got it in 2 minutes thank you
Great! I forgot my code for my Master lock and I now know it. This video saved me from buying me another one.
+Santo Cald i hope it saves you from ever buying one of these again, lol
Brilliant method.
Thanks Bill, as always!
Awesome! Could have used this two days ago during an escape the room game!
Really thanks. If i dont see this film i never change my code.
I opened someone's lock and my friends were amazed at how I did it so I explained this video
I open my kinder age BMX - bicykle locked before decade, thanks to you
I knew about this technique but didn't know about finding the order seq. 👍
Thanks so much I bought similar one like 10 years ago completely forgot the code. Thank to you I found the code in less than a minute ❤
Excellent job bro!! There you have it!! Thanks for the very good explanation 👌
Bought a brand new Tonyon 5 digit cable style and the 00000 setting had been changed! So luckily I came to the right place...IF....this technique works with those too, Find out soon. Thanks
Thank you that was great i have a lock and i want to practise in case something happens one day and i want to be able to help : )
Hey! That was a great video and it was well put together! You provided the perfect amount of information and I just put a like on the video!
just got my self a new bike, cheers mate XD
Bill opens it in a minute: "Great little lock!"
Bill I just tried it! It worked!!!!!!!!!! Cool : ) Thank You!
I've got 5 really expensive looking mountain bikes in my garage if anyone wants to buy them real cheap... All thanks to @bosnianbill, u the man!
Master combo locks used to do the shackle feedback thing too.... I was getting into them when I was 11 years old..... everyone wanted to know how I was doing it and I never told them....I used to take all the locks off of the locker room lockers.
Thx you helped me brake in to someone’s shed
Great video Bill, I really learned a lot from this one, Thank's Man :)
My sister once had another such lock for her bike, which actually had false gates. But the false gates are slightly narrower than true gates, so you could tell them by feel, defeating the purpose.
intro music has perfect volume now @bill!
Picked up lock picking as a hobby years ago after watching a video about locksmiths. Its really fun, and almost not challenging at this point. If you are not a locksmith, do not get caught with picking tools in your car or pocket. Certainly dont get caught with picking tools, a drill, and a ski mask in your car...
Under another user name, I have documented some of my fun picking different locks as a hobby. Now I am not a thief, and would never pick something that wasnt mine or that I was asked to pick by a known owner, but should I ever be found to have picking tools in the car, I can show they are for a hobby and not actual bad intentions.
Point of my post: Never be seen standing next to a dead body with a knife in your hand. Nothing good can happen...
2:22 Yes Bill, put it in a safe! Presumably it'll then be secure.
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The last few intros were really catchy :)
Great tutorial, thanks Bill!
my neighbor hates me already can't wait to use this! :D
7 ate 9 confirmed.
🔥🔥🔥🐀🔫
?
ehill1536 ???????
you saved a lock for me, Thank you
Thanks :D Stole my first bike toda
man for some reason I liked hour videos. although i know nothing about lock picking nor planning to learn ir weird. it is still good to watch
"Very clearly written in... Chinese..."
Solved my problem thanks.
I figured out this method on my own when I was ten..
Cookie easy.
Get a pannie, some vegetablie, choppie uppie, then put in pannie with a bit of oilee and cookie until ready.
Thanks Man I just got me two nice bikes tonight...
The other day I saw a gate to a building site 'protected' by a 4 digit Master combo lock. I laughed when I saw it. :)
Thanks for showing this video
if you steal bikes after knowing how locks work, it'll become an addiction. trust me it will ruin your life and take away more than you gain. trust me
You say this implying you have experienced this. So if you used to steal bikes, why would i trust you?!
Honor among thieves is how you can trust him.
Harrison Fillpot There's a difference between thieves and fools.
Exactly... I'm not among thieves, so I can't trust him.
You use it for good and lock a shitty persons bike with the lock of another shitty person. :D
Thanks for great video now I know how to get that old lock off my bike that my uncle put on it when it was his bike
hey you saved me from buying a new bicycle lock (kind of ...) I forgot my combination and could it open in 15 minutes. And now excuse me. I going to buy a lock that's not bypassable by a guy who saw a decent made youtube video ;-)
youtube is a nice place for newbie robbers to learn
hey Bill, is there anyway you could do a dial style combination lock. I've tried myself, I've watched others, but I think you would be the best. I would much rather enjoy and learn more from BosnianBill
Thanks I’ve been wracking my brain to change the pin
Everyone of your intros are epic Bro
Dear Bosnian Bill/ Have you encountered a digit lock that would not provide any feedback until the right combination is used?
I posted this: I bought a similar one on EBay that's listed as 5 Digit Combination Padlock Travel Luggage Suitcase Security Lock - Silver L (large) for $7.79. The image has a watermark Paska 2016. The lock's packaging says Jasit Lock. The setting mechanism is a switch on the back instead of the side turning in the video. I couldn't get a very thin shim between the wheels to find a gate. Worth buying.
this is a good question
There are some designs that have fake gates, so that it can feel like you've gotten a number correct when you haven't. But whenever they use the same basic principle as the ones I've ever seen, trying to open them gives feedback to the setter.
I have one (from Master Lock no less) which has the dials on the side lined up with one half of the shackle. The dials seem to get tougher or looser (or get stuck between numbers) randomly when you turn them under force so there's no number specific feedback.
That's false gates.
Vary the force applied so that turning a dial gives some resistance but not too much. When a dial is on the right position there will be a small space that it moves with baseline resistance, and when applying pressure if any dial is not in the right position at least one of them will show resistance.
nice and clear instructional video. Thank God no stupid background music
Thats the best intro yet
Fine for this kind of lock. Saves damaging the cupboard etc with hammer blows!
