Thanks so much for posting this. I had managed to accidentally changed my padlock code during my travels and this saved me so much time and money from buying a new one
I just locked my motorcycle tank bag in the dark and of course the combination changed by accident. Took me under 3 minutes to learn this technique. Was shockingly easy. Thanks 🙏
i bought exactly this lock, and while playing around with it i changed the numbers without looking. found this video while looking for help and kept failing, today i tried it again and i could feel it, and 2 minutes later i actually got it open. it actually works. thank you so much! you just saved me so much money! Thank you
No experience, played along and copied your technique for about 2 "extra" minutes of rewinds of your tape, while i copied your moves, and I wrote down a few numbers that seemed to match your examples in video, thinking i was getting nowhere.. But I kept going, and 2 minutes into my attempts I had the first three numbers correct, and it popped open as i spun through the last number. Nice! Had watched your other video Picking 640, which matched my Amazon locks i just bought, and followed along for about 5 minutes of replay and attempts, but didn't get it to work. And then for fun watched this tutorial and voila ! The release outward of the shackle at each position was what i focused on to get the first three numbers... Thank You ! Almost wasted $3.00 expenditure per lock .... These locks are fine to keep honest people out, knowing they are easily snipped, and fairly easily picked, so its one step up from using a carabiner ....
Many thanks for your video. I had a 4-digit lock that I found, and just for fun tried to open it, but after two days - and even trying sequential numbers (obviously not doing it very carefully) - I gave up, and nearly threw it away. I came across your video and went to fetch the lock. As I walked back to the computer I moved one number - and it opened right then in my hand. It obviously knew it would be beaten, and died of fright right away!! Now I am able to reset the number to one I can remember (which I didn't know was even possible), and can have fun with other locks when I find them. I really didn't like being beaten by that little lock. Cheers, and thank you again!
Haha, that's a great story. So not only that this video gives a recipe on how to decode them, it also scares the locks so that they open almost by themselves. Thanks for sharing you experience and happy decoding :-)
Thank you for replying to my message so quickly. That little lock's spirit is completely broken - I can open it in a few seconds now, with my eyes shut (to avoid cheating - I know its number, thanks to you). All the very best.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! A great video, i bought one of these locks and panicked when setting the combination! A massive help in getting the padlock unlocked!
I like the family aspect of your videos. Glad your son is interested in the art as well. At first my son went to town raking, but when I showed him to spp he lost interest to quickly so I reset and went with a more fun methods of overcoming a lock. Cheers... Keep up the great vids, Rob
Thank you for the positive feedback, much appreciated. My son has lost interest as well currently. But that might change as it did in the past. I actually don't care to much as he should find his hobbies by himself. But still the family is involved in some "projects".
Excellent video Potti, my favorite part was the stop motion. you put a lot of effort into editing these videos and it shows. I learned something new today
+RJ Robert James Thank you. I like picking, exploring locks, learning,... and making funny videos ;-) Thank you for watching. Happy, that you had fun :-)
OMFG TYSM !!!! at first I tried and it didn't rly work but after a few attempts and carefully reading the notition you've added I opened the lock I thought was easy that I could open lolol ty ty ty1!!!! Very well explained!!!!
Haahaha.. Thanks. :) Been playing with this one while watching TV. Your vid gave me the gate confirmation I was missing. Excellent blindfold pick / party trick.
Thanks a lot at first I didn’t get the strategy but then I did it took me around an hour to pick my first lock ever I have never picked a lock before your instructions were clear I love you no homo
Some news for you. I have a Lockwood (ASSA ABLOY) 40mm brass 4-digit combination lock that appears to communicate in the same way insofar as false versus real gates are concerned. Four false gates per wheel. False gates stick heavily compared to actual gates. Remembering this video of yours helped me to crack it, so, thank you. :D
Ach so, dann hab' ich's falsch verstanden. Dachte, Du findest es unsicher und hast deswegen kein solches gekauft. Freut mich, dass es geklappt hat. Servus, Michael.
Well done! Some nice tips in there as well. Thank you. I have the 3-wheel one. Not much of a challenge but fun to play around with decoding. Will see if I can find its older brother one day.
Very nicely done again mate and will have to dig a combination lock out as never really played with them before, apart from the old bike locks in the 1980s when I was a kid.
Hi potti. You are great at these and a very good teacher. I recently was fortunate enough to receive one of these locks from Ethan, (hobby picker) and after painful fingers I eventually opened my first false gates ‘difficult’ combo lock. The feeling was amazing!! It is really rewarding to crack these. Wish I could be as expert as you one day... practice makes perfect I guess! Thanks for the help! 🔐🔐🔐
Thank you very much for your nice comment. Practice makes perfect for sure. And I'm very happy to read that you had such an exciting first opening. Keep on decoding - lot's of fun ahead :-)
+bimmlers Haha, not just fun for pickers but also valuable for real users - love it. Thanks for the feedback. Guess you are not a lock picker but as it was fun for you, maybe you got inspired?
Wonderful :-) Thanks for the positive feedback - glad you got your lock open. Play with it if you have found it enjoyable and you will sonn develop the right feeling.
excellent, i've got one of these, i'll give it a go! cheers bud, oh, your parcel arrived yesterday, it's sat staring at me but i've been too busy pinning nasty locks for Jim to open it. only got one more lock to make him, then make my mum a Bolognese then i can have a play, i hate waiting but like the building excitement ;)
+crispey bear Thank you. First my wife and then my son had to change the combo with taking notes but now I just shuffle it blind and open it. Works very good and is great fun. Thanks for the update of the parcel. Glad to read that it has arrived. I wish you a great time with my locks. Take care my friend and bon appétit :-)
+Ultimate Unnamed Thank you. I was fiddling around to find a property that differs between a true and false gate. No chance in getting a difference of shackle movement, click-sound of the wheel or turning angle. But finally it was actually straight forward as one false gates must always bind. Works great.
Holt shit… Started at 00:47AM not it is 01:38AM and I told myself I would give up by 1:40AM but I goddamn got it. Holy shit this is absolutely incredible😂😂😂
thanks, heinz, after hour trying to figure out why this lock is so tight i did realize a a difference when the fales or true gates lines up but didnt figure on the binding,,Thanks for the refresher,
This vid prompted me to buy one of these Abus locks and try out your method - and to my surprise - it works every time, after a couple of failures :o) The feedback on false gates compared with feedback on true gates is only slightly different, but your video described it perfectly. Great fun ! Cheers, Dave
Thank you - I should ask ABUS to get a promotion for the additional customer that buy their locks because of the decoding fun ;-) Great that my video was helpful and you got your lock open. When I need relaxation then I take this lock close my eyes and decode it - just like mediation :-)
Yeah, they should send you some free locks at least ! I found it was easy to move the next wheel by accident 1/2 a digit, so doing it blind might be more tricky :o)
noakeswalker I started to decode some of my combination locks blind. It's more difficult but you eliminate the need to change the combination every time. After a while of practicing it's great fun and contemplation for me.
Thanks for the video, clear explanation and very useful (I have the same exact lock and now I understand why it was binding on every other number for certain dials). =)
Not yet. I tend to struggle to differentiate which dial has the most resistance and is binding. If I could figure that out (sometimes it really is difficult) then I think I can decode it. Thanks for asking =)
Just go wheel by wheel and always take the one that binds most (in doubt just guess) and after turning one wheel always check all wheels before making up a decision for the next. Play with the tension on the shackle to see for which wheel it has the most impact. After all it's the fun of playing with a mechanical puzzle :-)
I just tried it right now again for a couple of seconds and somehow it managed to open. Thanks for the advice, especially controlling the tension on the shackle. =)
Got this one by coincidence from my sunday lock shopping yesterday ;). Always wanted a 4 wheel Abus :). It is way harder than the Burg Combo lock I had...again you can see a big difference in quality. But I did get it open hehehe :D. It's definitely a keeper.
I have problems with same type problem.... my problem is my 4 combination lock is open already but i forget my password ... so how i get password for lock
Great video, very nice tutorial on combination locks. This "numerology" topic starts to be really interesting. I'm expecting combination cam lock (from china), can't wait to try your method on it.
wow got mine open (actually a 145/40) but this video helped more, the key (haha) is always rotate by two numbers, this wasn't obvious from these videos to me from the start as an absolute beginner (first combination lock decoded)
2 of the wheels on mine have false gates and one of them has a false gate that allows you to spin in only one direction and not the other. The last wheel never locks or binds so I don't know what to do
It took me a good 25 minutes. I was pulling a bit too hard on the latch and it was making it hard to feel which wheel was binding the most (they all were)
I found a old lock and tried this on the lock. When i tried to 0 0 0 like u had it. To my suprise that WAS the code. So thank you for that. But i didnt use your trick.
nothing has worked for me for months. And I still cannot open my 4 digit combination lock. No clicks, no give no tension, no shackle movement. Absolutely no idea how to open the code on mine.
Mein Englisch ist zwar nicht das bester hab es aber geschafft. Habe genau das Schloss gefunden zwar offen aber Nummer verdreht. 😂 Zeitvertreib auf dem Stapler 👍🏻
Not "breaking" but "decoding". Breaking is destructive, picking and decoding is the art of opening locks without force and without a key / knowing the combination - a hobby for which we buy our locks. Never pick /decode a lock for which you don't have the permission to.
Which small / cheap lock you think is a good bang for the buck? I'd need one on my airport bag and I cannot choose... I'd love this one so I don't need to keep a key...
I guess for this purpose locks like these are the right choice ABUS 145/30 or BURG-WÄCHTER 80 30 (they have false gates) The ABUS 165/40 might be a bit big or heavy for a bag.
Having trouble with this. I have a lock to which I knew the code - 2200, however after locking recently the code no longer works (a friend suggested that these locks can end up with the code changed if the shackle is pushed down, even in the 'locked' position before the dials are scrambled so I'm assuming this is what I did). The locker it was attached to didn't have the most solid construction so we were able to remove the locking mechanism to get my things, but it still leaves me with an unusable lock. I'm following your instructions, starting at 3:11 but while the first two wheels lock in place at 00 the other two rotate freely, regardless of which number I put them on when I apply pressure to the shackle, in other words I can't seem to get all the dials into true or false gates before applying the rest of your instructions - any advice? Thanks.
First of all I'd try your original code with plus /minus one digit on every wheel. Maybe you're lucky. If 00 does not cause the other wheels to bind then maybe 00 are no gates. Try 01 or 10 or 11 if this changes the other wheels behavior. If you have no success the others are binding very late and you have to use the method of gate analysis first for these wheels alone. Then when they are in a true gate, the remaining wheels should bind. Good luck.
+Pick Beard The small one (145 / 20, red, 3 wheels, only true gates) is rated "3". The bigger with 4 wheels and false gates (165 / 40) is a "4". The say for the 165 / 40: "To secure valuables / goods of medium value or at an average risk of theft". Shackle is steel (not hardened). So I would say the security properties are in a good balance.
Yes, I would. It's much harder than a lock without false gates and if a thieve wants to get into he would probably use a bold cutter anyway - faster and more reliable and no training needed.
I have not done systematic testing on combination locks. Here (ua-cam.com/video/e7bqPakq2gI/v-deo.html) you see all such kind of locks that I own.I would use the master and the ABUS (both 4 wheels with anti-decoding features) for low risk situations. I don't know of any high security combination lock (maybe beside of this ua-cam.com/video/-QWpzajEC2g/v-deo.html). If a combination lock cannot be quickly opened by pull-picking (which almost everyone can learn in a few 10 minutes) then it's good enough for low risk situations. It's then at about the same level as a simple ABUS 5 pin tumbler padlock with key (ua-cam.com/video/s99QC0m2KK0/v-deo.html). If you cannot quickly decode or quickly rake a lock and if there is no other quick bypass method like shimming it's OK for the low risk application. But if a thieve has more time to work on it unattended or can use bolt cutters then you need more secure stuff. Maybe there exist such combo locks (need to have a thick hardened shackle and at least 5 wheels in my opinion - as with 4 wheels you can do a brute force attack in 2-4 hours). For a nice secure key padlock I'd probably use this ua-cam.com/video/JBT0OkGEFug/v-deo.html
SuperMerlot don't u can pull and twist open easy I don't even know why thaws people hadn't figured that out when I bought it I just pulled on it and twisted and wow opened I think these people yes u guys find it fun to open by figuring out the code master lock was even easier
Potti314 is there a certain amount of pressure you need to apply to the shackle. I just started lock sport and I really enjoy Edit: I don't need an answer as I unlocked my padlock with the technique. Great vid mate
OK. I have one of these locks and it's open. Check that, it's open and NOT closed. But I don't know the code and so I can't use it. So how do I find the code? Any help appreciated and TIA.
+24700France I know that you managed to open it meanwhile. But for the sake of completeness: Also if the lock is open but locked the method from the video can be applied. It sometimes happens that I mess up shuffling the combination (with eyes closed) and then it's locked in the open state and I have to decode it.
+24700France It's much more easier to find out the combination when it's open, because there are no false gates from this side. Just put tension to the shackle and start to rotate, much feedback.
I have a lock like this, and I've tried several ways to get it open. Every way leads me to the same combination, but the lock still doesn't open. What do I do?
Probably you have all wheel in gates. Tries to vary the tension and find out which one is in a false gate. Worst case, try all 625 (=5*5*5*5) combinations.
I mean I need a padlock for traveling. wanted to buy the one with 4 number but it seems since many videos on utube ppl can open it. do you have maybe suggestions for a padlock which is lightweight and a bit hard to decode. if there s any? or should I just get a padlock with a key instead a number? thx
The abus is not a bad lock with the false gates. My feeling is that someone able to decode it will also be able to pick the lock with key that you could buy instead. But these picking attacks or advanced pull-picking methods might be rare in real life. So if you are not concerned someone breaking into it with a bolt cutter, it's fine for low-risk situations. There is however a lock that cannot be decoded with the usual mechanism of pull picking due to its internal construction. It the tokoz (e.g. eshop.tokoz.cz/Delta-50-a-1-ks-S-a-_d2462632_11047.aspx). The locking mechanism cannot be tensioned by the shackle - that's really good. But the physical security is probably about the same as for the abus. So, if you want to have a combination lock the abus is a good choice of low-risk situations. Check out videos about methods of bypassing or raking open key-locks - you will be amazed ;-)
Please try this: Turn the shackle as if you would close it; it's important that the free shackle side is right above the hole. Now _gently_ push down the shackle and test each wheel. Turn the wheel the binds (gives most resistance) until it "clicks" or you feel a little give on the shackle. Repeat for the other wheels. Maybe clamp the lock in a vice the ease the handling. Good luck.
I have a 145/40, it looks like the same lock but with alu body. It is stuck in open position and shackle cannot be turned as you suggest, "free shackle side" is 180 degrees away from its hole. I have not managed to find the code. Would you have some suggestion ?
That's weird. The 180° position is for changing the code. Maybe just pull firmly on the shackle. I just tested my lock (I also have the aluminum version) - no way to get the shackle stuck at 180°. Seems to be kind of "unnatural".
OK, I managed it. You can achieve this situation by turning all wheels (from the right combination) at 180° so that the code is displayed on the opposite side of the indicator. Then turn the shackle at 180° and push it in. Now when you shuffle the wheels you're locked up. If you have an idea about the right code, try entering it at the opposite side of the indicator. If not, decoding it from there is possible but difficult. You need to pull the shackle exactly straight so that the nose can come through the cutout in the little washer. Beside of this, same method as in the video.
I agree with you, it is the code-change position. I tried push & pull, no way. The padlock is brand new, maybe it's a manufacturing defect? Shackle is at same depth as closed, but 180deg. It got into this as my daughter was trying to program a new code.
This has been asked earlier. So I just copy my previous answer here: "Please try this: Turn the shackle as if you would close it; it's important that the free shackle side is right above the hole. Now gently push down the shackle and test each wheel. Turn the wheel that binds (gives most resistance) until it "clicks" or you feel a little give on the shackle. Repeat it for the other wheels. Maybe clamp the lock in a vice to ease the handling. Good luck."
DUDE HOLY SHIT MY ADORIC LOCK WAS JUST STUCK AND USING YOUR METHOD I FINALLY JUST OPENED IT!! I think it’s defective because I set the number 2543 but for some reason it opened at 3542... any idea why this would be? Should I send it back? I’m just so happy using your method I was able to get into this container which has hundreds of dollars worth of cleaning supplies... thank you!!! Can I send it to you to open up or at least try to open and see what kind of lock it is?
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I'm happy to read that my method was helpful and you could apply it to get your stuff back. I've heard several times of instances where the combination has changed unintended. Some combination locks are manufactured baldy so that the number can change when operating them. This is due the construction ua-cam.com/video/XWaJmr81M98/v-deo.html and if for some reasons inner and out wheel disengage (because lock was poorly built) then you have a number changed. You don't need to send the lock to me (but thank you for the kind offer). I'd send it back to the seller and tell him/her that the lock does not work reliable anymore. Cheers and bye, bye from Germany.

Just tried this trick on its little brother (165/30) and it worked like charm, thank you :)
Merci beaucoup j'ai réussit sur un modèle similaire et ça a fonctionné, j'avais mal configuré le premier code, mille respect.
Thank you so much, I finally unlocked a lock that I had laying around in my room for 5-6 years! Thanks
Great - thanks for the feedback.
Thank you. only thanks to you, this video and your explanation about false gates that I was able to open my lock

Fantastic info. I was stuck when watching the other videos, no luck. Apparently the key is the false gates. Thank you!
Yes, the false gates are the key and the fun. Happy picking.
Thanks just bought this lock and messed up the code. Finally opened it thanks to this video!
It took me a while but I used your method and unlocked a 3 position lock. Thanks so much.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! A great video, i bought one of these locks and panicked when setting the combination! A massive help in getting the padlock unlocked!

Cool - thanks for the nice feedback.
Haahaha.. Thanks. :) Been playing with this one while watching TV. Your vid gave me the gate confirmation I was missing. Excellent blindfold pick / party trick.
Thank you. It's great fun to decode it once you have a strategy to do so. Most of the time I carry one around in my pocket :-)
I just had to figure these false gates on my own this morning. Basically did what you instructed. This vid would have saved me a few minutes though.
Thanks for the feedback - hope you had fun decoding your lock. Great that it worked for you.
Thanks a lot at first I didn’t get the strategy but then I did it took me around an hour to pick my first lock ever I have never picked a lock before your instructions were clear I love you no homo

Really great vid mate. Very nice demostration. Cool technic. I really enjoy it, mate.
Thanks for your work! Happy picking! ;-)))
+Tallan Pick Thank you Carlos. Happy that you enjoyed it :-) Cheers mate.
Thank you! I got stuck at my gym. My keys and phone were behind such a lock. Again thank you.

Hey, very cool. Thanks for the feedback - greatly appreciated :-)
Hat mir den Kauf eines neuen Schlosses erspart, danke!
Das ist schade, es macht wirklich Spaß damit zu spielen ;-)
Hehe, ich habe es durch das Video aufbekommen, hat mich 3 Stunden gekostet. Also genug gespielt :-)
Yes these combination locks I found to be very entertaining. Picking without tools ;-)
Thanks I used your method and opened my friends similar 4 wheel “WORD” lock, he forgot the combo, Great fun!
That's great. Thanks for the feedback.
Very nicely done again mate and will have to dig a combination lock out as never really played with them before, apart from the old bike locks in the 1980s when I was a kid.
+waddac2 Thanks Rich. I really learned to like them. It's like picking without tools ;-)
Let us know about your experience.
+Potti314 I will let you know how I get on, just have to dig one out first as know I have a couple somewhere around the house.

actually, it was kind of fun :)
+bimmlers Haha, not just fun for pickers but also valuable for real users - love it. Thanks for the feedback. Guess you are not a lock picker but as it was fun for you, maybe you got inspired?
+Potti314 indeed i was! asked my wife to change the Code to pick it once more!! :)
+bimmlers Very cool :-)
+bimmlers This was the situation when I've started to order combination locks, with the only reason, to check, if I can open them.
Thank so much! Took me some time to get it (and I'm still not sure I completely do) but I was able to crack my troublesome lock! :)
Wonderful :-) Thanks for the positive feedback - glad you got your lock open. Play with it if you have found it enjoyable and you will sonn develop the right feeling.
I'm gonna get one out an watch this again! fascinating work Michael. Hi to your family.
+richardwales Thanks Rick. Yes try it, it's great fun :-)

Nice demonstration, I wasn't used to that technique until you showed it here, I will definitely try that out.
Good work thanks for sharing.

Thanks, it worked within some minutes. My first lock pick :)
Great. Thanks for the feedback.

Started at 00:47AM not it is 01:38AM and I told myself I would give up by 1:40AM but I goddamn got it. Holy shit this is absolutely incredible😂😂😂
I took me 10 minutes, but I got it open - thanks!
thanks, heinz, after hour trying to figure out why this lock is so tight i did realize a a difference when the fales or true gates lines up but didnt figure on the binding,,Thanks for the refresher,
Thank you. Happy that I could help.
Thanks ive been trying 2 nights until i watched this video
Cool, that it helped. Thanks for the feedback :-)
Thanks for the video, clear explanation and very useful (I have the same exact lock and now I understand why it was binding on every other number for certain dials). =)
Thank you - great to read that the video was useful. Have you been able to decode your lock with the method shown?
It's second to none when a lock pops open like so - congratulations :-)
Your choice is very good. What new can make it difficult for you?
Got this one by coincidence from my sunday lock shopping yesterday ;). Always wanted a 4 wheel Abus :). It is way harder than the Burg Combo lock I had...again you can see a big difference in quality. But I did get it open hehehe :D. It's definitely a keeper.
Great catch! Happy for you that it opened - have fun with your lock :-)
Thanks Potti :). I didn't expect it to be so hard, but really got surprised in a positive way :).
I have problems with same type problem.... my problem is my 4 combination lock is open already but i forget my password ... so how i get password for lock
Thanks, you helped me steal so many things
Very nicely done
+charles philippe Thank you.
your son gave you the combo. haha ...😂
serously, nice work keep up.
it worked, thank you Man.
You're welcome.
Thanks for the video! I'm amazed it worked.
Thanks for the feedback. Happy you could apply my method. Cheers and happy decoding :-)
Great video, very nice tutorial on combination locks. This "numerology" topic starts to be really interesting. I'm expecting combination cam lock (from china), can't wait to try your method on it.
+Mike Pergl Thank you. Looking forward to see that lock :-)
wow got mine open (actually a 145/40) but this video helped more, the key (haha) is always rotate by two numbers, this wasn't obvious from these videos to me from the start as an absolute beginner (first combination lock decoded)
Thanks a lot for the feedback - glad you got your open.
@@Potti314 it's funny I originally planned tu actually use the lock for locking stuff, now however I'm not so sure anymore...
The lock is OK for being a combination lock. And the chances of being cut open are higher than a decoding attack.
2 of the wheels on mine have false gates and one of them has a false gate that allows you to spin in only one direction and not the other. The last wheel never locks or binds so I don't know what to do
Wow, hat geklappt! :) Danke
Got mine open with that "Tricks" Thanks!
Cool - thanks for the feedback.
thank you so much!!! i almost spoiled the rest of my 5days trip!! haha
+Cassie Ng Haha, you're welcome. Cheers :-)
Awesome informational video, thank you!
Cheers, glad you found it useful.
Thanks!!! I've unlocked my padlock.
Great - thanks for the motivating feedback.
Another well explained video - thank you Potti ! :D :D
Thank you buddy - we both love combination locks :-)
Thanks man, you saved my life
Cheers - my pleasure ;-)
Most informative, thanks.
Thanks.
it worked! thanks man!
Cheers. Glad to read that you had success.
It took me a good 25 minutes. I was pulling a bit too hard on the latch and it was making it hard to feel which wheel was binding the most (they all were)
Thank you!
Cheers :-)
No probs!! Done it.
+24700France Good to read.
If you know the combination, try learning the feel when only two wheels not correct. This helps learning the feedback. Good luck.
Mein Englisch ist zwar nicht das bester hab es aber geschafft.
Habe genau das Schloss gefunden zwar offen aber Nummer verdreht.
😂 Zeitvertreib auf dem Stapler 👍🏻
Just got a new bike!! TriHard
Congratulations :-)
Tnx this made my day:)
Thanks for the feedback :-)
Working great thankyou bro 😂😂
Thanks for the feedback.
Brother my lock fell and it got stuck unlock and now its not locking any idea what could be the problem and how to rectify it. thanks.
What a lovely dad, ah? 😊
teaching the lovely fun of "breaking locks" with his sun.
hahaha
but lovely, 4 real
Sub + Like 👌👍
Not "breaking" but "decoding".
I guess for this purpose locks like these are the right choice ABUS 145/30 or BURG-WÄCHTER 80 30 (they have false gates)
The ABUS 165/40 might be a bit big or heavy for a bag.
OMG I DONE IT ALONG MANAGED TO CRACK IT OPEN AT THE SAME TIME, THANKS 👍
Haha, very cool - thanks for the feedback :-)
Nice sir!
Thanks :-)
Good luck.
You can also send me a mail potti314@web.de and we can chat.
@@Potti314 Awesome thank you! I'm trying what you said, I'll give it a bit more time and then will message you if I can't get anywhere.
i have opened both true and false gate locks and it seems to work nearly every time... i'm not as fast but have gotten it to work.
Great, thanks for the feedback.
Your the best
Thanks for your feedback.
Nice one my friend, looks like fun.
What security rating do Abus give it??
+Pick Beard The small one (145 / 20, red, 3 wheels, only true gates) is rated "3". The bigger with 4 wheels and false gates (165 / 40) is a "4". The say for the 165 / 40: "To secure valuables / goods of medium value or at an average risk of theft". Shackle is steel (not hardened). So I would say the security properties are in a good balance.
+Potti314 Thanks for the information.
I do agree it's a fair trade off considering the properties of the shackle.🍻👍👍👍
It worked!
Thanks for the feedback - glad to read that you had success.
So would you use this for a gym locker?
Yes, I would. It's much harder than a lock without false gates and if a thieve wants to get into he would probably use a bold cutter anyway - faster and more reliable and no training needed.
Is there a combination lock you like the best? that you would reccomend?
Potti314 Thank you
SuperMerlot don't u can pull and twist open easy I don't even know why thaws people hadn't figured that out when I bought it I just pulled on it and twisted and wow opened I think these people yes u guys find it fun to open by figuring out the code master lock was even easier
Potti314 is there a certain amount of pressure you need to apply to the shackle. I just started lock sport and I really enjoy
Edit: I don't need an answer as I unlocked my padlock with the technique. Great vid mate
Thanks and congratulations to your success.
I have a opened lock and no code, how I get code worked out for that ?
Thanks
Try this ua-cam.com/video/kAlBM6UdOjM/v-deo.html
Worst case, try all 625 (=5*5*5*5) combinations.
it actually works...
How do you crack it when it is locked and the shackle is open
so its better to buy lock with key rather than with number?
Any tips on one of these stuck in an open position?
Thx worls nice
my padlock is with one wheel blocked, guess a bad intention from one neighbour. what can I do?
It the wheel is blocked and you suspect sabotage then better use a metal saw.
I have an open three-digit locker but I forgot the combination, any tips? Thank you in advance
This has been asked earlier. So I just copy my previous answer here:
"Please try this: Turn the shackle as if you would close it; it's
important that the free shackle side is right above the hole. Now gently
push down the shackle and test each wheel. Turn the wheel that binds
(gives most resistance) until it "clicks" or you feel a little give on
the shackle. Repeat it for the other wheels. Maybe clamp the lock in a vice
to ease the handling.
Cheers and bye, bye from Germany.
it really works....
Yes, it does. Thanks for the feedback that you could replicate it the method.
nice one man ;)
Thank you.
This reminds me of Barney Collier from the old Mission Impossible series.
Haha, not really that cool - but thanks :-)
Hallo Potti,
