Please sir thank you for letting me know about this I know it will take me a long way again thank you.
I bought a small 12v oil pump from lidl, specifically for this purpose. Comes with inlet and outlet tubes, and crock clips to connect direct to battery. Works great , good for full oil change too.
I wanted to try this, but not wait a week for delivery. Chris Notap has a video showing how to use a shop vac to extract fluids, but that didn't get enough. I bought a venturi pump from Harbor Freight and that left about 9oz (266ml). Then I overfilled by a quart (. 946l) I used the venturi pump again, ran it for several minutes, and it hardly removed everything, but I was already late visiting a friend with stage 4 cancer 164 miles (264 km) away, in the Phoenix area.
I hoped it wouldn't do too much damage and I could take care of it after seeing my friend.
Amazon seemed to say that it would deliver a pump to a locker within a few hours, but as soon as I ordered it, it said it won't arrive until tonight, and I need to fix this and drive back for work right now.
Life saving brilliant method💯
That’s cool bro. appreciate that.
Thankyou so much
I like to write on plastic radiator cover in silver marker the amount of oil car takes, viscosity, oil filter model number, and drain plug wrench size saves a lot of running around and looking things up. but i still had garages just throw in 4 quarts even though it only takes 3.4 when i didn't want to do my own oil change mid-winter.
I have a oil remover suction tool that has a pump like a bike pump and a cylinder that holds about a gallon you could actually suck all oil out and replace it without crawling under car of course you would still have oil in filter.
I have a 9l vacuum pump I use when doing oil changes and used it to remove 4 litres of excess oil from my partner's car which had been grossly overfilled by her cousin who is actually a marine engineer 🤔
What a great way to remove excessive oil without removing sump plug could you tell me what size tubing you used thanks
you can use something small like 3/16 whatever fits on syringe and goes in dipstick tube.
will the oil color change if there is too much? I have a volvo 05 v50 t5, and it is very possible I over filled by 1/2 quart. The land the car is parked on is a small light angle, which makes getting a straight level gauging impossible. I am getting a coffee bubble color, which leads me to suspect a head gasket issue, but it could be something like a bad PCV system. The car has just under 200k miles. When I discovered the change in oil color in the oil cap, but not the dip stick, I stop driving the car. Any advice you have, I like to know
I accidentally put way too much engine in my car and then
BiG buff of blue smoke and then a loss of power.
I pulled over straight away. So iv not driven at lenth like this, but im bricking it now, lol
Do I simply need to reduce the oil level, or is this a sign of more damage.
Any advice most appreciated.
Is there a clear indicator that something else is wrong after this that I should watch/listen out for?
Thank you
most cars, specially germans since 2010 don't have a dipstick or even a dipstick tube anyway!
how do you check the engine oil on the dipstick properly? in the morning or after 5 to 10 minutes after turning off the engine?
Either as long as the car is sitting on a level surface.
👍
I had to get a new Oil sensor for my Car today
I put too much oil on polo classic 1.9 tdi and the engine won't start, it's only cranks and that's all. If I remove oil to the right level ,will the engine go to normal starting.
Hi and thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately it's too difficult to say what is happening without physically inspecting the vehicle. We would advise bringing a mechanic to look at it, as they will know better where is the problem.
Thank you again, hope this helps and fingers crossed 🤞

Can you recommend a syringe kit for this job?

Where am I getting a massive syringe from when I've done this at a roadside petrol station please haha
I put too much oil, car shut off i immodestly realized it and drained the whole thing and added new oil. Audi a5 takes 5.5q but once I did all that car started puffing out lot of white smoke. What should I do now? Should I let it burn the access oil? I want to know if it will clear by time.
Good afternoon Kurban, can I please confirm your location so, I can tansfer you to the correct team? Thank you, Paulina - Team Castrol
How do you do this if the engine doesn’t have a dipstick?
Hi Lee, Thank you for your comment 😊 On cars without a dipstick, the engine oil level is read via a level sensor - hope that helps. Paulina - Team Castrol

My car crank after filling too much oil
Did you ever have problems with your car engine oil level?
As an independent tech I have problems with cars with no dipsticks, had a car in the other day that was over filled by a main dealer ,with no dipstick you're limited with syringing it out 😂
who the hell has a syringe that size?
It’s a bonnet, not a hood.
Sorry 🥺
