G'day Matty and thanks for the support mate. I tell you what, this new job of mine has me run ragged. I don't get much machine shop time anymore, now that I'm back full time. I need to find some time to give you a call buddy for a chinwag. Cheers, Aaron.
Stephen, I highly recommend you get one mate. They are lovely to use and real time saver. Keep an eye out on the second websites mate. They do come up from time to time. Cheers, Aaron.
G'day Craig. I was only talking about you the other day with another machining teacher that I work with. We read in a curriculum document that we can use a Planer to meet a competency. My buddy says, I've never even seen one and then I discussed you on UA-cam and checked out your videos. Cheers buddy, Aaron.
Nooooooooo, really Guy. Bugger, you should've kept them mate. They are so much fun to play with. We need to catch up for chat. Hope you're doing well being back at work buddy. Cheers, Aaron.
The emery cloth is held for both hands between the thumb and forefinger only. This prevents a finger or thumbnail from being torn off if the tape is swallowed.
G'day Micheal. Thank you yes I did get that email with the link. It was very informative. I will share the link here as the PDF is an excellent resource. Cheers www.threadtools.com/uploads/pdf/technical-specs/coventry-dieheads-general.pdf
G'day Terry. Yes you can still find them. However, as my good buddy Micheal stated below they can be very expensive. I would keep an eye out on the second hand places for one. The do come up from time to time. Thanks for watching Terry. Aaron.
Hi Jay. Thanks for the heads up mate. I've had lots of people asking me about where they can find them. Hopefully they read your comment mate. Cheers, Aaron.
I really want to try one of these thingos out, but given I might be starting programming the Mazak at work soon, this could be a toy I'll never see until my retirement!
G'day Adam. Keep an eye out for one on FB Marketplace, eBay or Gumbtree. They do come up for sale quite often mate. You need one for home. Hope the new job is going well? Cheers, Aaron 👍
G'day Mark. Unfortunately all these heads that I'm using don't belong to me. My customer Wayne supplied me with the heads and chasers to use on his studs and bolts for his old vintage engines. He said I can hang on to them for a while and show them on my channel. Cheers, Aaron
Great instructional vid Master Po’ 🤣🤣🤣 Those Coventry heads are as rare as rocking horse shit.🥹 Ditto for the chasers 🥺 ‘Specially the little 5/16” heads, and bloody BA chasers. Still made in India though ( like Enfield motor cycles). Thanks mate 👍 Grasshopper
G'day Robert. Some of the Indian made stuff isn't too bad these days. Remember we saw some of their stuff at the machinery show in Sydney. I would say it was better than the Chinese made stuff. That said, they're still not cheap are they? My buddy Micheal Connor (who you met) said you can still find the chasers, but you'll pay dearly for them. Cheers Robert, Aaron 😉
Those are some pretty slick tools. Thanks for showing us.
Thanks buddy, yeah these things are fun to play with 👍
Gday Aaron, the die heads do a beautiful job and quick, thanks for sharing mate, cheers

Hello Aaron,
The Coventry Die's are so good for production runs... great stuff, thanks for sharing.
Cheers.
Paul,,
G'day Paul. You're not wrong buddy. The certainly speed up the progress of cutting threads on the lathe. I've enjoyed using them. Cheers 👍
Those dies holders are so cool. I need to find me a set one of these days when I find my mind and return to the shop.
Stephen, I highly recommend you get one mate. They are lovely to use and real time saver. Keep an eye out on the second websites mate. They do come up from time to time. Cheers, Aaron.
Another great video. Do enjoy them...
Thanks Glenn. I've enjoyed making these last couple of videos. The die heads are fun to use. Cheers 👍
Definitely a badass setup...reminds me of my electrical carreer days running some of the power threaders on conduit

@@AaronEngineering I knew somebody mentioned my channel not long ago, just didn't know who...thanks much
Good job Aaron. Park your carriage as the tail stock stop, then when you make multiple passes it will have a consistent stop.
Hi Randy. Excellent idea mate. I will fix my carriage stop (as it slips) and give it try next time. Cheers mate, Aaron.
Well done Aaron, simple job but the Coventry die made short work of it.
Cheers Peter
Thanks Peter, they are fun tools to play with. 👍
I gave away two of those die heads years ago. Now I wish that I hadn’t. Great video Aaron!
Oh man.
Nooooooooo, really Guy. Bugger, you should've kept them mate. They are so much fun to play with. We need to catch up for chat. Hope you're doing well being back at work buddy. Cheers, Aaron.
My thoughts too Tom (nooooooooooooo)

👍
They turned out great Aaron.
Thread rolling next???
Ian
G'day Ian. I think thread rolling is a little outside my league, but I like your thinking 😉. Cheers mate 👍
Nice work there STUDLEY.
Did you get the Alfred Herbert manual I emailed down?
G'day Micheal. Thank you yes I did get that email with the link. It was very informative. I will share the link here as the PDF is an excellent resource. Cheers www.threadtools.com/uploads/pdf/technical-specs/coventry-dieheads-general.pdf
Ahhh the old cardboard shield. I use it a lot myself, I actually clamp it to the compound 🤣.
Thanks Marco. Yeah, I need a better idea but the old cardboard works a treat. Cheers 👍
Hi Nice work .Can you tell me if you can cut trapezoidal threads with that unit?
That’s a very good question. I suppose most threads are possible with the correct chasers installed. But I haven’t seen it done. Cheers Aaron
Aaron, first time I’ve seen Coventry dies, do you know if they are still available and also done in metric, great channel Aaron 👍👴🏻
They are still made and will accept both metric and imperial chasers.Sit down before you check the price of new heads.
G'day Terry. Yes you can still find them. However, as my good buddy Micheal stated below they can be very expensive. I would keep an eye out on the second hand places for one. The do come up from time to time. Thanks for watching Terry. Aaron.
I thought you were going to gift me some Micheal 😉
Hey Aaron, I see grayonline has a load Coventry dies

Thanks Max. Cheers buddy 👍
MrCrispin recently did a video about Coventry die heads - ua-cam.com/video/WwbV1lcULpE/v-deo.html
Thanks. Yes I watched that video 👍
I think you are starting to spoil yourself there mate 👍🇦🇺

So fast!
That's what Dianne always says to me Russ (ROFL 😉). Cheers buddy, Aaron.
