Thank you for this clarification. I'm currently HR Admin, where I do EVERYTHING HR at my job. I have been interviewing for Talent Acquisition positions, and this clarified some things and will help with my interviews
OMG. This video was so spot on. I am currently a Recruiting Manager. Definitely wanting to switch over to a Talent Acquisition role. Love love love the videos ❤️
I made the change from Agency to Internal/Corporate - and you'll love it especially if you do full-desk (business development - bringing in the clients and then filling their roles). Started out in agency for about 4-5 years and TA for a while and still in TA but it is much more focused on recruiting and less sales. You also can make really great money. I have 7 years experience and am at 94k and have a manageable requistion load of 20 positions I work on. But I also get to work on a lot more and help establish metrics, SOP's, and focus on the future and help setup goals for my team and myself to help the organization grow. You do more but it feels more rewarding if you enjoy helping people. You're more than just another recruiter - you are a brand ambassador and the face of the company and first impression. It is absolutely worth switching over to if you are tired of filling a role and then being asked hey can you do that 5x more? Sure you can make great money as an agency recruiter... but TA can lead to more HR and you can easily be making over 300k once you're on the higher end.
I love your videos they give so much insight. I previously worked as an HR assistant and now work as a Senior HR Generalist for a non profit. We are a team of 3 for 215 plus employees. Looking to switch gears into the talent acquisition field as a lot of my day to day is creating offer letters, coordinating onboarding, facilitating orientation, and running background checks; among employee relations, some benefit inquiries, and training coordinating. This video gave me a better understanding of the role so thanks 😊
I’m so happy to hear that! I actually enjoyed TA when I did that role. I did a few day in the life videos while I was doing that role. Here’s the link to one of them: ua-cam.com/video/787D40wJ7zA/v-deo.htmlsi=Fy-30oicX7F1xFiR
I strongly agree with you, but in my company, as recruiters, we are more strategic than just sourcing candidates, and filling roles. we do everything you said under Talent acquisition, and the recruiter's explanation you foster is what our Recruitment Researchers do. Our Human Resources do the onboarding and the operational or transactional arm of HR, and they have a base salary, and for us, we have base, commissions and bonuses. And for salary, sometimes the turnover, and how big your company determines that, as some companies offer better compensation than others, so there are so many variables at play here I guess. But it's insightful information you provided here.
Yep, That’s why I did an external vs external HR video to enlighten my community on those factors. Every organization is different which makes it difficult to capture in a 10 min video. Thanks for leaving watching & leaving a comment.
That was okay extremely helpful; I never understood the difference between the short-term focus of recruiting versus the long-term focus of talent acquisition. Thanks for the insight and keep the videos coming!
Sooo happy you found it helpful! I hope organizational leaders find this video because the number of times I've experienced them wanting one but needing the other is annoying! lol
Let me start out with a BIG thank you for sharing this content; very informative. Here's my dilemma...I been working in the healthcare insurance industry 34 years. Yikes I know! Anyway I have the years to retire but NOT the age so I been thinking about transitioning into another career and HR is at the top of my list. I do feel I have transferable skills (Operations Analyst, Project Analyst, Senior Lead, etc.) plus I will be obtaining my Masters at the end of Dec. 2022 for I already have a Bachelor. Of course I have no plans of starting over when it comes to income so where do you suggest I start? I'm leaning more towards talent Acquisition and hope the salary is more than what you shared but we shall see. I was wondering if I could find a part-time job in HR that will provide me with some hands on experience or even job shadowing at work. Again, anything you can offer is greatly appreciated. I going to keep binge watching and move forward with a plan. Blessings

Hello, i just graduated with a Degree In mass comm and work for a biotechnology company but i am looking to transfer into TA within my company but i have no experience. What would be the best certification websites i can use to get for a TA certification?
I had an interview with a talent acquisition specialist month ago. I still haven't heard anything from them whether i got selected or not. I followed up after but no response yet. Does that mean that they are still planning strategically or are not interested ??
Im currently seeing a remote talent acquisition position in the beauty industry. I'm wanting to do a career change, although im already in the beauty industry as an Educator. I have recently revamped my resume. Is there anyway I can e-mail it you to take a look? Thank you. I will pay for your time reviewing my resume.

So why do you guys deny people and send that generic deny email, when I have the exact credentials for a job? I'm just trying to figure what the reason they deny?
uh oh, looks like you don't follow me on LinkedIn and you're not on my email list. I just posted the answer to that on LinkedIn. Here's my profile, let's connect. www.linkedin.com/in/timeka-green-mba-hrm-shrm-scp/
Why are they used SIMULTANEOUSLY? Even on LinkedIn, the same person will call themselves a recruiter AND TA in one breath! No wonder there’s confusion!
On LI people do that because both requires similar skills so it opens them up to more job opportunities. Companies and others do it because they simply don't know any better. smh

Totally depends on so many factors. Here's a video of the reasons folks start ghosting: ua-cam.com/video/DqrU3kzPvpg/v-deo.html
i got contacted by a talent aquisitong regarding a job application i submitted. Do they look at applications from the companies website?
Yes. Are you asking about a TA Specialist or an external recruiter?
@@HeyyyHR a talent acquisition
@@BlancaLopez-mz5ev then yes, but they use other tools along with the company’s website or Applicant Tracking System
