    Your video is too focused on small parts and when you move the camera around it's terrible.

    I think they should of put the power window controls on the door because if you don't have the doors on you won't need to put the windows down.

      Hey, it's not like they are inconvenient where they are.. once you'e figured out their location. It's not unique either had an old BMW 1986 325iX with the switches in the center console by the shifter. From a design perspective it reduces the number of switches and gives both the passanger and driver access to the same cluster although it's more annoying having to reach across the shifter knob area to lower the opposite side window if you want your passanger to lower a window while you're shifting.
      Also it lets you leave the rear doors in place and still control them while removing the front doors. Admittedly that is very rare I'm sure, but I have seen someone do it to keep their dog in place. I laughed at him at first until he explained why he had it half & half, and it made complete sense. He wouldn't be able to control the rear window without the switches being where they were, and that might be equally handy for parents of small children. Don't know the actualreason for it, because as you state, the common "the doors come off' isn't as straight forward a reason as people make it, but as the adage says, perhaps it's "not for all the reasons we can think of, but for the reasons we haven't thought of".
      So, what's your argument for them being on the door instead of the centre console ?

    Driving a vehicle with part-time 4wd (like a Wrangler) on a high traction surface like pavement is likely to damage the transfer case, not just reduce fuel efficiency. The transfer case, when engaged on these models, locks front and rear axles with no slip from front to rear - turning is difficult on pavement and can result in drive train damage if done in excess (too much, too often, or too aggressive)

      Gary L I'm saying full-time 4wd systems have some mechanism to allow for wheel differential when turning - usually a clutch pack or viscous coupling in the central differential. Part time 4wd systems usually have a binary (on or off) transfer case which will cause scrubbing on the front (steering) axles, and potentially premature wear or even breakage on high traction. surfaces. www.4x4abc.com/4WD101/def_turnpart.html

      Dustin Tarditi I agree with the fuel consumption part but the jeeps in our family have ran fine for years with 0 transfercase problems and if they were all wearing prematurely idk if chrysler would offer a 5 year warranty on them

      Gary L That's good. The owner's manual warns about use of part-time 4wd on paved surfaces and the link I provided explains the physics behind it. I'm glad you're enjoying your jeeps. It'll hold up just fine until it doesn't. You may never have a problem or you may bust an axleshaft or chip a spline the first time you do it.

      Dustin Tarditi I will thank you I do understand the flaws with the systemand how it could wear quicker maybe I was lucky with mine becausethe paved roads it was on were mainly straight I just feel these axles are stronger than people give them credit for unless people drive around all day with the wheels locked but it won't matter soon when the next generation wranglers get some form off a independent suspension

    • @KnightShadey
      @KnightShadey 10 років тому

      Dustin Tarditi That's a load of BS, the axle is far stronger than that and a bunch of other components would fail long before the transfer case, especially the NV241OR found on the Rubicon. There is wear on the U-joints and on the rubber boot/bushings, and the tyres will lose traction (especially an AT/MT) LONG BEFORE the torque build-up could damage the axle and transfer case components or even the transmission (which can handle twice ass much torque as the Pentastart produces) They also have both a diff in the front and rear, and the difference between the front and back drive wheels isn't and X:1 ratio it's a fractional difference, which is often easy for both the . Jeep recommends you not drive it on dry pavement to save the rubber components, not because of either the axle or the transfer case, which is actually not like the old ones and has better linkage setup for the newer transmission and has changed the yoke and interface setup.
      Does it have less play than AWD or full-time 4WD with a center diff, sure, but it's not as big a deal as you make it out to be, and is still only anissue on TIGHT turns (like those tighter than an intersection, like turning into a parking lot from the same side of the road or a TIGHT U-turn or similar unusual maneuver. Driving on straight roads & highways and typical gradual turns are fine.

    Couple things here. First, you should clean your interior a bit if you are doing a review. Second, the focus is terrible and the video is very shaky. Third, your sniffling is very annoying. I couldn't watch the whole video.

      The only Wrangler that comes standard with front and rear lockers is the Rubicon. Sport and Sahara do not have them.

    I am 100% going to lift mine 3 inches and I'm getting 35 inch BFG all terrain tires with 22 inch black KMC rock star rims and some type of metal front and rear bumpers with a Warn winch on the front and some type of exaust system and eventually a turbo charger
