The DeWalt DCD777C2 20 volt brushless drill is DeWalt’s least expensive brushless drill bringing all the advantages of the brushless technology at a lower price point. This drill comes with a soft case and 2 batteries. The DeWalt DCD777 drill retails for $99 making this one of the best values for a DeWalt drill. The DeWalt 777C2 was the winner out of 12 drills in our under $100 18-20 volt drill comparison.
We spent several hours testing the DeWaltDCD777C2. In our tests the drill was able to complete 184 ½” holes on one battery, one of the highest we have seen in this class of drill. For comparison this drill’s predecessor, the brushed DeWalt 771C2, was able to complete 97 holes. One of the big advantages of brushless motors is they are very efficient. This means you can use smaller and lighter batteries and still get a lot of work done. This drill comes with 2 batteries so you can charge one while you use the other minimizing downtime.
I'm comparing the DCD771C2 vs DCD777D1 both $99 on Amazon. Both 20v. The DCD771 comes with an extra battery. The DCD777D1 is brushless so I assume it is the better deal?
Great video. Just bought the DCD777C2 for $100 at Lowes.
Good comprehensive review with real world tests and comparisons. You helped me in my decision. Thanks!
Amazing review! Any videos comparing with other brands?
Thanks Mike. What flexible accessories would you recommend for the DeWalt DCD777C2?
I love this drill, I bought two of them.
You didn't do a longevity test. How many screws can it screw on a charge. How many hold can it drill etc
Can you use it overseas, using a step down converter 220V 50Hz to 110V to charge the batteries ?
almost a 1000 subs. awesome work gear guide, I love your drill review. you have done 18 and 12 volts. have you considered doing a similar test with electric screw drivers really put them through there paces. kind regards
I will add that to the list of things to review! Thanks for the feedback!
The drill seems to over drive many of the screws pass the point you want ,when letting go of the trigger it tends to spin a bit afterward and I don’t use the torque selector because there not very precise on most drills.
Would the drills be just going to 20v from 12v standard. Most Dewalt products now have a chuck. Mine has quick connect bits. The newer can use all bits?
Do you find that the trigger response on the 777 is a little off?
Thanks for the information. I just bought the DCD777C2 and the drill often stalls when I apply the slightest pressure.
Is it possible that the battery packs aren't "exercised" enough and the drill is stalling because there isn't enough power? Thank you.
Are you dissapointed with the DCD777C2? I am considering the DCD777D1. I assume it may be a newer model. Not sure. Do you reccomend?
Great information. Very clear and to the point!
Muy lindo video amigo ! Saludos de Bs. As. Argentina.
it is a nice review, I really like it. I have a question, does the charger works on (220V-240V) input voltage? I want to take it overseas . Thanks
It says 120 volt on the back so I'm going to guess no. Sorry about the slow reply. Hope you had a good trip!
Do the Makita drills I have the old school one like 2,000 for awesome drill still running today great
i would like to see a review on the porter cable pcck607lb drill or the rockwell rk2852k2 - keep up the good work
which model of this two suits me more the DCD 777 or the DCD 771
Thanks... good video.
Great review! Thanks!
Excellent video. Thanks.
Thanks Jimmy!
Have one of these drills and the torque selector seems to be locked. Is there some “trick” to getting this thing to rotate?
No just twist it really hard. If that doesn't work return it.
How many of these cordless drills are the same..with just different names and numbers.
Craftsman a DeWalt. .etc?
The Craftsman CMCD710 looks surprisingly similar to the DCD777 and the torque figures are about the same. Also same plastic chuck.
Same with the CMCF820 impact driver being a derated DeWalt DCF887
good job!!
You probably need to do the drop test. Everyone seams to drop the drill off the step ladder.
I love this dewAlt
I want to know which model suits me of the two and which lasts more than load
Is the charger safe to plug in a 220v?
No, it's 110V only

At 3:17 you make a small mistake in calling the 777 a brush drill in your last analysis. People could hear that and possibly since it's one of the last opinions heard, have that stuck in their mind and get confused lol, just sayin', not complainin'. Also, for 99 bucks at most box stores, it's a bargain. I build 6 and 8 foot cedar fences as a side business, this does everything I need it to to, including some pretty long 1/2 inch lag bolts. Plus, it will do anything around the home effortlessly. Remember, it's only $99, with all the opinions said, you will be very hard pressed to find a better deal.

I immediately noticed the same mistake. It was confusing. Thanks for the review and the response.
Yes, I caught that too and was confused. He says " . . . the 777 (brushless) significantly outperforms the 771 (brush) showing you just how much of an advantage a BRUSH motor gives you".
Хочу купить 777) гарна цяця)
i picked mine up a month or two ago for 97 dollars after tax
Milwaukee, hands down!
funny, you can totally see how you are reading the text, making it very hard to concentrate on what you are saying and making you look like, you actually don't know what you are talking about... other than that... good info, thanks :)

hey, did you know someone is using your entire video? ua-cam.com/video/7a8mAreFfpE/v-deo.html
Please don't give people the impression that this drill is anything but for a DIY person...it is not professional or even close....I love Dewalt but this will not last for everyday use...nor does it have the power....please give pros and cons and let people know other options for just a few dollars more...
The whole video is set up with the premise that this is their lowest end brushless model and is a budget drill.
Liz Varick ...you made it seem and said that ...the drill is good and will perform welll....which is not true
How are you determining this is not a good drill? Have you used it?
Gear Guide ...yes I own it ..I own every Dewalt product made...some m18 fuel..m12 fuel..Makita jack hammers...Bosch lasers...festool....I'm a builder I build custom homes so ya...I'm qualified to judge it......what your saying is false.....it does not have all the torque you will need except for the most demanding applications.....not even close...it's fine for short screws or 1/4" small lags....cabinet work...putting furniture together......you must realize,,Most people don't know jack about tools so they may actually believe you......then they will find out it is not a worthy drill.......be responsible bud
He didn't give the impression it was for professionals. He compared it to the 771, which is exactly why I watched the video and helped me decide to purchase it yesterday.
