In india they ride these all over the place most of which have unmade roads. Same as in Thailand where the little Honda Cub is used to transport the family. Its only in the west where the so called experts say you've got to have a bloody great 1000 plus ADV to ride on rough roads
Just picked one of these up (bike #6 Yikes!). I followed your trip bringing the bike home and wondered how you handled the break-in. It says the first 300 miles keep in to about 43mph and 300-1200 around 45mph. I am in CA and live around country roads but it is not going to be easy to keep it under 50-60 with traffic on the roads I travel. Just wondering what you did for break-in.
The best I can say is, I tried. The first day I picked it up, I headed south avoiding highways riding 100 miles, and then back up to New Orleans adding another 100 miles keeping it between 45 and 50 most of that ride, the next day I rode around New Orleans, and then headed up to Picayune MS, putting another 100 miles on it, but hit 60mph a few times. Then did the service, at a friend's house. I've heard some people say that you don't have to pay attention to the break-in, some say just be careful in the first 50-75 miles, and others say doing anything other than the recommended break-in will cause major issues. I'm not a mechanic, and certainly won't tell you what to do, but you are right staying under about 40 is recommended, but not very practical.
Thanks for the reply. I think I will try to follow the book for the first 300 miles then just start slowly adding a bit more speed in each gear. On the roads near my house if I can get up to 60 that is about all I need to keep up with any traffic I encounter. 60 miles as of today and really enjoying the bike. I am an ex BMW guy who went Honda and now have an NC750 and a CB500X but wanted more of a classic style bike and was looking at the Moto Guzzi V7 Special but I would really have to sell one of the Hondas for that and just don't want to do that yet. Was looking at the Royal Enfield a year ago and decided to take another look and the rest is history!
Yes, fully stock - but I am considering the DND air filter, de-cat pipe, and Fuel pack. The bike is capable of a lot, but a little more grunt would be nice.
I live in Africa and see what petransport with their little chinese bikes and then smile, when reviews say the standard dampi g on a bike like the Tenere is not good enough😂
Perfect way to look at it. We get so caught up in specs and numbers, rather than looking at what the right bike is for you and your riding.
Thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate you
This 350 is very capable of-road as long as you go smooth and sweat: that’ a real Adventure bike! I love it!

Lots of roads like this in my area. Are you using stock tires?
