Sorry for the Click Bait Peeps. I've got to play UA-cam at its own game and get people to watch the content. I just want to say that I enjoyed the Royal Enfield and will probably get some more rides in, and the guys at Haywards were very friendly.Keep riding and stay safe.
Yeap, all part of it mate 👍
_Naughty_ click-bait headline!
Nobody made you do this.
No worries, that click bait got you a dislike!!
@@DangerslyNaughty
That dislike got you a like.
The 350 is getting people who don't see themselves as "bikers" back on bikes.
I have also seen a lot of oldies ie over 60 or 70 year olds buying them as they remind themselves of their youth. When in my teens I rode a BSA B40 350 cc machine. single pot and it would just about do 70 mph one up and 75 mph two up or more down hill or wind assisted. Those were the days. The glory days. but it refused to brake with 2 up. So as the brakes work on the R.E. I am thinking that it would be a bike for me very soon.
that's ME - 50 years since my Honda 175's
This bike is incredible. I love it. I ride mine more than my Harley Davidson now.
I’ve got a street bob and I know all too well it’ll take second place if I give in to temptation and buy one as well🙃
I know what you’re saying , I’ve been on Harleys since 1976 , I now have a Hunter 350 , it is more fun than the Harleys .
I'm glad you said that, because I'm thinking of buying it for my first bike. It's beautiful.
@@jerichostevens2711 you will love it so much. It's an amazing first bike. The classic or the meteor would be great.
Do you also ride cocks more than Harleys?
I live in Texas and we have thousands of miles of back roads which the RE Classic is perfect for. The seat is incredibly comfortable and it has enough weight to make the ride smooth. The Classic, due to its anemic performance, does not belong on freeways or highways. If you are looking for torque and speed, the Classic is not going to make you happy. If you are looking for a laid-back riding experience on lonely back roads, then the Classic will make you very happy. I'm still "running" mine in and cannot wait to take it on a 200-mile trip in the future.
At 56 I got back into riding after 20 years with a'23 Halcyon green Classic. After 1,000 miles, its been money well spent. A gentle and comfortable ride combined with great ergonomics. Sure I may get a few looks from "purists" but they just don't know...
The most beautiful of the colors too. Good choice!
I agree and have one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 👍🏻
I'm 74 and have been riding all types of bikes bikes for years. I bought a chrome bronze 350 Classic last year, the best bike I've ever had, brilliant to ride around Essex, fabulous motorcycle. Gets lots of positive comments.
Hi from Australia. I own two high powered motorcycles that are not really built for commuting in a built up city. So I bought a 350 Classic to commute. The dealer commented I would find it underpowered and not like it after the bikes I own.
He was wrong. I love riding it and it is the best bike around town and in traffic. Looks great and easy to maintain and FUN TO RIDE.
Last October I bought a Chrome/Bronze Classic. Because of the break in suggested I almost returned it the first week. It was an excruciatingly painful process. But now that I have 2500 miles on her she just hums along. I live in Southern California where to get anywhere you have to hop on the freeways with traffic, if it is moving, is as high as 85 mph. After a few mods she will easily get out and do 65 mph no problem. But I'm telling ya that riding a new bike is nowhere near riding a broken in one. The constant complaints from the reviewers about breaks, suspension and all are completely absent because until about 1200 miles the bike just not up to it's capabilities. I can throw her around the twistys up in the local mountains and the hills in Orange County and LA with ease, so the tire thing is also a load of bull. CEAT is a division of Pirelli just as ByBre is a division of Brembo. And my other bike is a CBR1000RR so I know what a bike should handle like, having ridden sportbikes for 40 years. The Classic is really a diamond in the rough. Thanks for the video! Cheers from LA 🏖
Hi, Thanks for the comment and info about your bike.
You are 💯 % right; after 1200 miles mine seems to get better each run. Cheers from Chicago
The break in period is definitely a frustrating process but it's worth it. The demo bike we took out was a bit vibey. Probably because it'd been thrashed from zero miles - conversely ours is really smooth. Just approaching 1000 miles now and it gets better and better 👍
Hi, Thanks for your great comment and assessment of the Classic. This really helps with me deciding if to buy one or not.
@@JimDiesel71 I just did a 475 mile ride last Saturday. Was pretty grueling buy made it home no problem. So much for these bikes being meek and mild
Down sized from a Kawasaki 900 to a chrome classic 350
Brakes?
Ride old school front and back application braking works fine especially when bedded in same as the CEAT tyres.
Been riding since 1969 .
Best single pot road bike I've ever ridden .
And for a long stroke its incredibly smooth.
Touring? done that on a Honda 50 so no sweat on a 350 just avoid motorways which I always do anyway.
Bloody ultra boring roads to ride.
Aussie here. Bought a chrome-red classic 350 last week. Absolutely fun bike, absolutely gorgeous and yes it will happily cruise at 100kph (~60mph).
Hey , I would like you to recommend to get a Bullet and get it fitted with aftermarket exhaust , your neighbour would be happy from you 😂
I will see what I can do😁, looking at a bullet 500 and a classic 👌
@@JimDiesel71 In case of bullet , I would recommend you to go with 350. With 500 , you would feel it like somewhat underpowered
@Pankaj-ki3zy Sorry, did you say go with the 500 over the 350?
@@JimDiesel71 No sir , I am telling you to go with 350. As you know UCE 500s are not that much great so going with bullet 350 would be a wiser choice. Rest is upon you 😁
I got my Classic 350 a couple weeks ago and I love it.
American here! I have the chrome & bronze one. I love it! The old school British bike vibe is amazing!!
I clicked on this video just to see what possible bad things this geezer have conjured up on the little 350 Classic. I am happy to see that it was troll title. 😁👍
Me too - was locked and loaded...
we all were lol
Running in... I know many who don't bother doing this on new bikes. Yes, don't scream it on constant high revs but just ride normal. Varied throttle. Bike's run perfect with no issues and no oil usage.
Lovely bike. 👍
A small bike ridden at or 90% of what it can do is far more fun than a big bike ridden at 30% of what it can do. My happiest biking memories and best adventures were on a 250 single 2 stroke. Sit on it for long enough and you can get anywhere, and it's so much cheaper to run. A bike that can do 150mph needs tyres rated for that speed, even though you never do it on the road. I have a Guzzi V7 and my next bike may be an Enfield. EDIT: I actually decided against the Enfield because I didn't like the dealer. Ended up with a Triumph 660 Tiger Sport. Although it is capable of high speed, it rides very nicely and smoothly within 30 and 40 mph limits too.
Well said!! Just sold my ‘04 Fatboy and thinking SERIOUSLY about an RE 650 or even the 350. I’m 67 and about to retire, so won’t have any great “Need for Speed 😂). Just want to enjoy the ride! Love the RE classic looks and low maintenance!
I also have a V7. For my purposes, it's an amazing all around bike.
You nearly had me there, Jim! I was all set to go on here and rage at you for missing the point of this amazing bike...then I watched the video. Hahahahaha! Nice one. Ride safe, mate!
Love the looks of them, waiting for the 650 version
just googled it. Launchdate seems to be Dec. 2026 in India, so quite a long time to wait.
Look for super meteor 650 RE
Your click bait worked, I was ready to take you on…😂
I have the exact same 350 and after 2,000 miles they really feel great. I’d happily tour Europe on mine, and 100mpg is a definite plus.
Yeah, sorry about that.
Hello Jim ,i got hold of a bronze /brown classic a month ago ,and am going through the running in situation ,but really i think it helps you get a feeling for the bike and what its potential will eventually be .i must say these "Royals" are like catnip for old blighters like myself ,62 yrs old ,oh and just a piece of advice ,the box on the left contains the mini Buddha ,i mean everyone who has ever reviewed one comes over all mystical and talks of things past .This bike is more than the sum total of its parts😁
Think I'm going to have to pull the trigger and get a RE.
@@JimDiesel71 Yeah Jim just do it ,dial the speed right down and feel the stress flow out ,you can probably do" tai chi" as you go along ,got to watch the ying and yang of course. Someone should start a classic 350 club ,we could have a massed thump thump up and down the cat and fiddle and all the twistys .All the best Jim keep safe
thanks for video .. just bought one awaiting delivery ...
In all honesty, I never wanted to ride bikes, but as a little run around the city, I could honestly love to purchase a Royal Enfield Classic 350, in Marsh Grey, Gunmetal Grey or Halcyon Green. They look awesome, and fuel economic.
I just bought one. It makes me seriously happy.
Something magic about any Royal Enfield. The 350 motor is fantastic😊
Have had 5 REs. The Classic 350 is easily the most reliable and fun to ride. For the price point, it's an amazing machine.
7600km, in 4 mounths... perfect ride so far 👌
The click bait worked on me. As a red and chrome 350 owner I came here to slag you off. Loved the vids and have subscribed......you got me 😂
Thanks for the Sub, I think the red chrome is my favourite.
I did a 1000km trip around Nepal two-up on a Classic 350 a couple of months ago. I ride a Bullet 500 at home. As expected, the Classic has way less pick up, and I found it needed to be in first on any kind of up hill. But that's fine in a country where the speed limit is between 20 and 40 kmph. Any faster and you'd be picked up by a speeding bus. I have a playlist of our near death experiences. I think the Classic is a fine elegant and smooth ride. It made me feel like a gentleman, whereas the Bullet makes me feel like a bit of a wrongen.
Considering buying a Signals version at 66 years old.
Will I enjoy it? Please tell me.
My 1980s 350 Royal Enfield is STILL going, doesnt cost much to run ( 20 bhp, ! I put mine 1980s enfield on the dyno , got 14 HP ! ) wouldnt buy another bike !
G’day Jim. I’ve only recently stumbled across your channel. I am glad Taym encouraged you to try a Royal ride & am really glad you found it a good bike. I haven’t had the pleasure of the 350 however I own a tribute 500 as well as a GT Continental & an interceptor. Royal Enfield apparently sprinkle some sort of magic dust around to maximise smiles per mile. I shouldn’t single out anyone on utube , however Taym & Saddlebags 73 really inspire me especially where RE are concerned. Bullet wonderer is another I should mention. Keep your content coming, let us know if you progress onto a magic RE in the future. 😎👍
Hi, I took out an Interceotor as well, again another very nice bike. Just got to do my sums now, I'm airing on the Classic 350.
@@JimDiesel71 it really depends on the use you will have for the bike. Horses for courses. Take your time, consider which one matches your needs best. I do believe both are excellent bikes. Good luck with it mate. I am looking forward to seeing more on your channel. Hooroo for now, Willy from down under 😎
It's such a shame that you have a non run in bike, they don't get freed up till 1500 - 2000 when you can properly appreciate it
Yep, the classic definately improves post run in.
My neighbour has one and commutes ti wirk every day and been to over ti France and back this summer for his holiday. He's riden 40 years and reckons its the best bike he's had. Loves it.
I thought I was going to have to spam you with all the ride vids on my Classic 350, when I read the thumbnail 😂. With such a low hp engine, some people think it will be lame, but it will go anywhere, climb any hill (and I have done a fair few of them). Just a fantastic little bike.
Yeah, sorry about that.
I love the look and ride of these. I am currently looking at the Classic 500, I have seen a good example on an 18 plate.
The 500 is a different bike, all I would say is having ridden the 350 you might find the 500 a bit too agricultural 😊
My Halcyon Green 350 has now done 3,000 miles and not missed a beat. Quite simply the best bike I have owned in 53 years, puts a smile on your face every time you ride her, you just relax when you ride and don’t worry about speed limits or traffic.
Ps when I saw your click bait was about to jump on and give you a piece of my mind 😂😂😂 as soon as I saw you pulling out of Haywards I knew it was a wind up ! I have watched too many TAYM videos. Think I will follow you so I can congratulate you on your new Classic 350. 😊😊
Thanks for the info on the 500, I had heard that it was a bit more agricultural. Think I need to take one for a test ride and check it out.
I'm torn between getting this or the Ninja 400 as my first bike. Do you guys have any suggestions on which one to get for an absolute beginner?
Most bikes these are pretty good, it's all down to looks, style, and which one you like the look of most. You can't go wrong really.
Yep, you got me Jim 😂.
I've got one in the same colour scheme as that. We (Fiancée and I) ride two up most of the time. We're not big people - probably 20st combined, but it copes really well as you suspected. There's actually quite a lot of room and the pillion comfort is excellent too. We looked at the Meteor 350 as well but that was a little too compact for two. I chose the blacked out engine as the finish is likely to be more durable and I didn't want a garage queen - I've had too many of those. I wanted a bike I could ride for an extended season.
Subscribed 👍
Thanks for the Sub too.
Potentially looking at getting the Classic 500 now.
@@JimDiesel71 Ooh, let us know how you get on. TAYM has one, and Stuart Fillingham. I know they're the opposite of "refined" but owner's who understand them love them 👍
I have bought this Classic 350, it's just an incredible machine... Love it...❤
Great video 👍 this bike surprisers everyone !
Morning Jim, I was riding daily until the Blast Furnace effect hit us here in Vegas. July and August will be off limits unless your Rad.(Mad) Love that 350.
My Himalayan is the bomb. I absolutely love it.
65 is tops for me, and I stay off the freeways here. We have Knucklehead's in motor vehicles who can't see hi- Viz wear.
Stay healthy/ Ride Safe
Hi, thanks Royal Enfield are delighted hitting the ball out of the park with their range of bike. You stay safe too and try not to melt in that Heat.
Got myself the very same bike that you tested
It's my 86th bike and I'm loving it
Off on an Adventure soon
Tyres, power it's all in the mind
Forget the image and ride ya bike and have fun
86th bike? Are you an owner of a motorcycle sales company? :D
Nice little honest review Jim,really enjoyed the commentary 👍
Thanks 👍
JD,as you know TAYM how about you & the boys do a Royal Enfield special mini adventure video. It would be great seeing a bunch of Enfield’s tackling some hilly terrain out in the countryside somewhere.
I'm a proud Royal enfield owner.. ❤❤
Nice one Jim, you make a good video matey, i enjoyed that but you got me with the clickbait....bassad 😁 ps i own it's sibling, the Himalayan, mate has the classic, brilliant bikes.
For big feet just adjust the lever and linkage up some.
Jim mate iv been vloging on the Enfield classic 350 you really can have alot of fun it has a mistic magic inside it trust corners so well push her in the corner the bikes frame is made by haris performance which have been making frame since The 1970s give some welly fella
Ahahahaha! good show mate - I came here with a tire iron in hand - but all forgiven for No F%cks Entertainment. 🤣 Keep playing that algorithm and in case you want to keep addvertisement to a minimum, make sure to swear past the first 3 seconds, but before the first 10 - and you are golden! 😂
Gotcha 😁, thanks for the advice as well.
Given those things you mentioned health wise I'd say try the meteor 350 😊
Fabulous little bikes with a massive heart 👍
Can you do a video on the difference between the classic three fifty and the meteor three fifty
This bike should be compared to a BSA B40, Norton model 50, Velocette MAC or original bullet 350.
No point comparing it to a modern bike.
This bike can survive potholes abd broken roads in India then it would simply glide on good roads in the West where you can enjoy a nice slow ride on these simple bikes.
I came to defend Royal Enfield. I needn’t have 🤣 I enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I haven’t ridden a 350 but my 500 is the most fun I’ve had on a bike since I was a kid ragging a fs1e around the fields 🙂
Yeah sorry for that, Great bikes just doing the sums thinking of pulling the trigger and getting a Classic 350.
@@JimDiesel71 Nah it was a good ploy 🙂👍🏼
All the best!
Did you just say you used to ride a fs1e????? No waayyyyy - gues what my little troublemaking '50 was? yup....
@@frankysworld yeh brilliant little bikes. I learnt to ride it when I was 11. We destroyed it over 3 years or so on a farm. Then we moved on to an XL100.
@@Saddlebags73 got mine brand new when I was 17 (drove an old Zundapp CS50 before that) It was one of those chopper looking versions that were severally limited not to go past 40km/h - It went a bit quicker after borrowing my dad's powertools and slapping a 16mm carb on it. after that I got a 1972 Enfield India Bullet 350 😃
They look great.
Probably my favourite bike in terms of looks.
I would love to hear your opinion on a test ride with the 500 classic. the bike this bike replaces
Do you mean the 500 that proceeded the 350? If so I have the 500 Classic great bike.
I love my Signals Desert Tan for the beach roads of Florida!!! It gets much nicer after break in...❤
If I didn't have such a long commute, and could get to work in a somewhat comparable timeframe on back roads, I would have a Royal Enfield 350 (maybe not the Classic, but there are other models with the same engine) on my list to get.
There are always back roads you can take 😉
If You buy a Classic 350 brand spanking new; Be prepared to follow the break-in procedure...to Completion !! (After that, You can drive it as you wish...) If You do; You will have a bike that will perform as it should,. Under all reasonable conditions... & You will be glad that you did!!
Thanks for the tip, appreciated.
AT LEAST OUR SCHEWLS ARENT SHEWTING GALLURIES
Great use of the click bait there Jim, hammer that algorithm 😂 It's not a bike I could ever see myself owning but they obviously appeal to very many riders. The new Triumph 400's the Scrambler 400X in particular catches my eye, a little more grunt and presence 👍😀
But still India 😊
Can't believe I always get lost going to Haywards - it's not a part of Cambridge I'm familiar with.
I have the 2022 model, Halcyon Gray. Awesome machine.
Texas here!! Been looking at these !
I was like that, only went bought one lol love it
I felt like I have to change the gear one level up all the while you where riding.
Love it
I had an Enfield thunderbird 350. It's more expensive to maintain than a cheap car. It's got no power. no comfort, no speed. It might not be the worst bike, but it's at least a runner-up.
Absolutely❤ mine ! Put 1,500 miles thus far . ❤❤❤
Love 350....looks amazing classic
that is a good bit of fun jolly , i thought you would struggle to find much wrong other than the power ;;
And I was coming hot to slam this bloke talking smack about my favorite bike! Haha, but you redeemed yourself...and I'm settled now. Probably should go ride mine now ;)
Ride Safe 🙏🏼
Try using your eyes to check gauges etc rather than bobbing your head up and down all the time. The less the camera moves the better the viewing experience.
Maybe consider using a different camera setup... getting dizzy watching this video...
I was expecting to dislike you after that awfull clickbait title but that was a fun to watch little ride/review. Ride safe!
I love the looks of the bike.
Im your new subscriber from India 😊
Thanks for the Sub, do you ride?
@@JimDiesel71 yes I do ride
Nice bike... I have same colour...
I am an American and couldn't understand most of what the narrator was saying. Did he like the bike or not?
😂 yeah I liked it, so much so I bought one.
I'm from 🇮🇳 And I'm riding this since past 5 years & I'm pretty much sure this bike is hundred times better than Harley Davidson... And much cheaper too....
I have 2020 classic 500 and the crankshaft has shit itself at 4600 k's. Not happy so I'm getting the parts from Hitchcocks and the premium parts.
That ain't good, obviously. How much for a new crankshaft?
Put a battery in one hand and the electric starter in another and you will see why it weighs what it does.
At least half of my mileage is with a pillion and its surprisingly good considering the stats on paper. It's important to remember the style of bike it is and factor that into expectations re performance. Accept she's not a Fire Blade & all is good 😊
The only complaint I have with the tyres is tramlining along poor surfaces but I don't have a vast experience of other bikes & tyres so others with more knowledge may know whether other brands of tyres would improve this.
Tyres, that's a never ending debate 😆 but different/better tyres will improve the tramlining issue.
I'm sure tyres will make a big difference
Try raising the pressures 5 psi at a time
I was going to say what Russ said, but in 3psi increments - narrow tyres are rather sensitive to pressures -especially two up
If it would just be able to maintain 70 MPH /110 KPH up a hill and into a headwind then it would b safe to ride on the roads I ride on. Otherwise its just a toy for me in my situation. My wife's 300cc Honda scooter will easily do this and 1960s 250, 300 and 350 air cooled Hondas twins could do this easy. Granted these machines were twin cylinder. The TU250 Suzuki air cooled single cylinder did 75mph. I love everything else about the bike so it's a pity that it has this issue. Maybe one day. However Enfield is selling so many in Asia I doubt that they care too much.
Love mine! best bike ever....for less than the price of honda grom....
Half the price of the bike is for pollution controls you have to change so the bike will run better and cooler.
*C'mon.. This is the 1911 of Motorcycles..*
If you don’t like attention don’t buy this bike. I can’t stop anywhere with my signals without people coming up and chatting 😂
Decent mudguards to keep the road dirt off you, nice size wheels, and a decent overall size
so much better than those BMW tings, where the owners stand on the footrests looking cool ( not)
I run a crash bar on all of my street bikes. It is slow er and heavier than my BSA 250 .
People love them because they look the part, they're fast enough if youre not in a hurry and most of all they're cheap compared to Japanese bikes.
❤❤nice❤
Why would anyone buy anything else?
The world's worst bike is Brixton... Believe me, I have 125CC and I know, nothing but rust everywhere and within the first year, very disappointing... Only good thing about it is that it's economical.
indian rubber sticks like glue !
😂😂😂
I'd buy RE350 before any hinkley m/c.
Jim this is bike to enjoy ride not rush on track for that you buy ktm
Yep, you're absolutely right.
It's an amazing bike
After break in it will easily do 65 70
The constant up and down of the camera makes this unwatchable. Pity, sounds interesting.
Its d best❤
Ah, you where being ironic.
you click-baity bastard Jim. 🤣 - You CAN do 200 miles in the saddle, chances are you'd have to stop for the night before you'd done 200 miles though ------ only joking ------ I had a classic 500 briefly, size 11 boots got wedged under the shifter the first time I rode it with them on, thing was I had no choice at that point as my lift had dropped me off and gone, I was collecting it from the workshop, made it back though but it was some dicey shifting.
Yeah sorry about that 😁. Strange though with the gear shifters, I could understand if they were a Chinese brand.
@@JimDiesel71 There is the indian shifter to buy if you want a toe-heel shifter.
