This is one of the more accurate documentaries that I have seen in recent years about the Persian empire.
Khan Academy does a really good job! I love them
except it's false, Cyrus never deposed his grand-father but his cousin Astyages
Thank you Khan for creating your learning platform. I am grateful for your videos. My kids and I are learning so much. 🙏🏾🙌🏽
One of the great narrations of Persian history
Nice Video! I learned a lot!
Judging from how perfect and accurate information is i’m sure this guy probably has some Persian friends because I learned these details from my parents and you can’t find some of this online. Nice video 👍
He does a lot of research, and if you have a high iq and are driven to research many different primary sources then it's not difficult to reach the right conclusion.
I am so glad I found this channel, you explain very clearly and answer all my questions. Thanks ❤
Awesome!
You can read "I am , king of kings, king of Persia, of the achaemenids" on almost every writings of kings of kings. "Persia" is a word that works too, it is not less preferable, it is usable because it was used by locals in that time too. Sassanids were enthousiasts of being Persians and descendant of Persians and used it in their propaganda to claim back Arcacid Empire (Parthians).
If you think Persia is not a good word, you think "Roman" is not a good word too.
"Farsi" is an other matter though. It is used because of arab letters as you said. The problem with that is that it destroys the origins of the very identity of Iranians/Persians.
You are wrong. Its mentioned: KING of PARSIS. Which in Persian means people who speak Persian(parsi) greeks called it Persis or Perspolice which means the city of Parsi people not as a race or country
Grégory Fleury By The word Persia doesn't mean what you think in that sentence. He's calling himself the king of Persis province.
Grégory Fleury
The name Farsi has actually become common recently. Probably because the Ottomans and Arabs reffered to Iran and its language as bilad fars(lands of Persia) and farirsee(Persian, taken from middle Persian Parsig)
Poets of Islamic Iran always referred to the language as Parsi.
Not fun or good it's amazing!
IT'S THE PERSIAN EMPIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Please read audiobooks

Median Empire: Emperaturi-e-mad امپراطوری ماد
How do we know that thee was only100mil ppl during seluciod
Curiously funny to mishear Sal saying that "much of this region that we call modern day Iran was controlled by the media"!
Drink every time the narrator says "Shah an Shah"
He is mispronouncing it
Correct pronunciation is more like sheh-n-shah
Original Persian script:
شہنشاہ
It's shahanshah
FUN FACT: Thats where the name for the car factory "Mazda" Comes from.
Some main characters are mentioned in the Bible also.

So....Palestine/Israel is really Persian.... hahaha jk
lol do you wanna start a war? Hahaha, Arabians are descendant of Ishmael, Jews are descendant of Isaac. They are cousins ;)
they are not cousins...they were half-brothers
Bardia Saeedi it's really the kingdom of Canaan..
@@zanzaraloggan3713 half-brothers, not cousins.... they have same father ''Abraham'
third :l
Stop using BCE dude, it's just BC.
You can say either, they both mean essentially the same thing.
@@kellypeak567 BC is the original use. BCE was invented to ignore the Christian aspects.
Vincent so?
@@vincent513 we should use BCE... people should ignore all Christian aspects..
its BC, not BCE. They opened the tomb of Jesus in the last month in case you missed it. You might also note the map you are using has BC on it, not BCE. How about you guys keep away from this political correctness rubbish. You do great videos.
AkubraHatman Before Common Era is just the worldwide colloquially accepted term for the period the modern world among historians and scientists. Also every headline I saw never claimed to have opened Jesus's tomb just where they thought the man was buried. It's an archaeologic impossibility to determine one man from that Era of human history. There is simply too little known about him to determine physically, however there may be evidence linking him there around the time of Constantine
AkubraHatman also I fail to see what Jesus' tomb being opened has to do with thr time scale
Constantine just used jesus as a pawn to spread his roman culture for example there isn't anyone named Jesus.
Eish
jesus spoke arameic, the official language of achaemid, that makes him iranian, why not start counting from zarathustra? 3xxx AZ
