I watched this series and went through a whole large box of tissues in the process. My husband walked into the room at one point and couldn't understand why I was weeping. I was quick to describe the incredible story and acting that I was watching. Tembi and her sister have done a phenomenal job and deserve every accolade that comes their way.

Great interview! Loved the series; I laughed; I cried; I cried! Zoe and Eugenio chemistry was magical; they both should receive many awards for OUTSTANDING performance. Is there a cinema visual award; if so, it should receive an award for that too. Oops, I forgot the Soundtrack should receive an 🏆! Back to Lino - his eyes - his eyes communicated so many emotions. ❤❤❤❤

I am a retired hospice nurse. There are so few hospice doctors that can really sit and talk honestly and compassionately. Bringing a family from denial to acceptance. Oh, the few that could were wonderful. From changing The goal of care from cure to comfort. With love and acceptance. I have seen Dr’s work until 8 PM talking to families in denial. I have seen a hospice doctor come visit a dying patient on Christmas day on his day off just to check on comfort. ❤

Hospice nurses are the best! Thank you for your life's work. You will never know how grateful the families are. I still think of our nurses so many years later.

I don't know how you do it. I was an ER nurse for more than 30 years and was asked my a Dr. who'd be running Palliative care if I wanted to work with him. I told him he has lost his fucking mind! The pain of walking with families and patients through this tunnel between life and death would send me to a psych ward. It is too emotionally draining. One must find a balance between empathy and going full blown emotional about the patients of that service. I so admire you all who can do this.

Thank you! My father’s hospice nurse was so amazing and I hope to volunteer at a hospice when I retire. His nurse kept coming to see him even after she had switched jobs and we did not find out until after he passed. Bless her and everyone who works in hospice.❤

It just about did me in with heart pangs, tears and all the feels. Also, most importantly, it was heart strengthening at a time when our world feels upside down. So my heart was warmed and reminded of the good of all humanity and the potential for us all to keep working toward coming together.

What a beautiful interview! Thank you for this 🤍 I was hoping there were also questions about Eugenio. I think he deserves a lot of exposure. He’s such an excellent actor. I hope he gets more interviews. We’d really love to know him better!👌🏻

Thank you Katie for having this wonderful conversation with Tembi & Attica Locke. I loved their beautiful series and now I understand why it felt so incredibly authentic. And yes, even big guys cry, I admit that I did (and laughed through tears) watching the series and this interview.

Katie, the connection between you and Tembi was palpable! I read AND audio-read Going There. The vulnerability and strength in your story and in Tembi's story evoked so much emotion. After listening to Tembi read From Scratch in the audio version of her book, I went straight to Netflix for the visual, which was superbly written and performed. Attica, that was genius of you to see the vision of this project! I DO hope the three of you will make that meal happen.

What a beautiful insightful interview. Thank you all for opening your hearts and sharing your experiences. Praying that your memories carry you through in the tough times. Also for anyone walking this road now, know that there is no one way but draw from those that have traveled this path. Take what you need and can use. ❤

Read the book or listen to the audio that's read by the author, Tembi Locke. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Both are available at libraries, though there's probably a wait list.

Good to see her doing something good for someone else. My first impression of her wasn't great. Was outside in audience yelling practically the entire time: 'Hi, Good morning, Katie over here, hey Katie over here, Hello, Eyyyyyy, We're from Texas, Katie please talk to us so we can say hello to our family, hello, hi,,,,,, etc etc etc.
Suddenly I yelled 'LOVE YOUR OUTFIT KATIE'!
And whaalah she turned so fast, grinned from ear to ear and yelled back Thanks so much!

As a fellow member of the undesirable "I must find a way to live on without my Cary Grant club", I am building enormous strength to make myself watch this soulful celebration of simpatico love. Tembi Locke perfectly articulated what Katie Couric has bravely modeled for so many of us who have been handed devastation-A pathway back toward a life to love again.
Personally, I am beyond grateful for each of your glorious examples of consistent grit to rebuild in the most positive ways. After my truest love passed unexpectedly in an accident, I honestly believed my ability to feel happiness died that day. Our extraordinary young kiddos were able to resuscitate my shattered heart and spirit.
The post traumatic growth you both have graciously embraced encouraged and inspired my own healing-My gratitude is abundant. Now, seven years post loss, I have poured my impassioned emotion into building a thriving community specifically designed to shepherd widows/widowers through the entire rebuilding process and normalizing our distinctive lifestyle. It is called SoloSpouse.
I want you both to understand that EVERYTHING you have done is felt, internalized, and has made the most loving impact for many. Thank you doesn't seem sufficient; however, I mean it sincerely. Katie and Tembi, please keep trailblazing around destigmatizing death/loss-Together, we rebuild!
