This is a throw back gel. People use to do this back in the beginning of the natural hair movement, like 6 years ago before flaxseed gel popped off. Thank you for reminding us of this gem. Come through gel.

I'm going to put in some avocado oil/aloe/she butter on to break the gel cast. It feels & sounds crunchy. I didn't use a leave in. I also forgot to pat out the excess product. I did a braid out. Pros: It gave me a lot of curl definition & I usually have non. Lots of bounce & shine. I created this at home, on my own. Ooh wii!!! I can't wait to see your stretching method. I added a preservative. I am still in the process. My gel is only a few weeks old. I have successfully frozen this gel as well and it freezes with no problems at all. I opted for a preservative because I need freezer space. After the first batch you will see how much you need. I play it by ear. I worked on 1tsp to 1 cup liquid. You can always add more xanthan or liquid if necessary. Play around with it and take notes, so you know what you did, how much you used and how it worked. Play around with different consistencies to see what works for your hair. My hair needs it thick for a wash and go and thinner with a bit of oil for finger coils
