✨ I am testing 3 different natural/ "naturally"-derived thickening agents for clear gels, shampoos, lotions, creams, conditioners, and more.
✨✨"Naturally" derived can mean that the ingredient is synthetic. It just means it was created from or using an initial natural ingredient. However, in most cases, the "synthetic" or "naturally" derived ingredient is accepted as natural and can be use in products that claim to be "natural".

Hi Yaya can you make a super creamy deep conditioner using hibiscus and emulsifiers, I have tried to make this so may times but the PH always comes out below 3.5, it’s like 0.98 and I can’t work out why 😭
Please do one on Guar gum
Pomades
Thank you Yaya for sharing all these gems with us. Your videos have helped me tweek my own formulas especially ones I could not really get right.
I'm curious about how versa gel is made, hopefully one day you will bless us with a video about lip gloss gels.
Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos!
I like the xanthum gum. That looks like it would look good to be mixed in a creamy hand hash or body wash. These thickeners are amazing.
Thank you! I am glad you like them. 😊💜
Absolutely loved the video! I took 4 chemisty courses for college, hated them. But you just made chemistry fun!

Thank you! I will keep that in mind 😊💜

I love this
Hi Yaya!!! Please give us an update on this. Thank you! I learn so much from you. I recently discovered your channel and i’m already addicted :)
Thank you for sharing
Hi! Can we get an update on these and how they lasted + the preservatives you used? also how and what to add to these to turn them into specific products (like fragrance, color, and things like that) I loved this video it was super informative thank you!
I just got some guar gum for my diy aloe vera/flaxseed gel. It has thickened my gel, but not enough for my liking. So I'm gonna get some HEC and Xanthan gum to try out.
thanks for this
Very interesting video. I just made my first non-flaxseed hair gel using Sepimax zen. I think it came out good. Looking forward to using it on wash day this week.
Nice! I hope it works out. If not, reformulate, retest, and don’t give up. 😊💜
can you make one on gel facial cleansers? been here since 40k. love you💕💕
Thank you so much the support! I can definitely do something like that 😊💜✨
Xanthan is my number one in gel butters and cream I use it too in thickening my seamoss and yoghurt
Thank you so much for sharing this video, very informative. Which should be used to create a gel moisturizer for skin and how do I incorporate my other ingredients?
Happy holidays
Thank you for sharing can you try biosaccharide gum-1 next ?
Can you make one into a gel face moisturizer. Or a video on how to use these? Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
Hi yaya! Out of all three of them which one would you think has the best slip for a detangler? Also do you think it would be possible to add marshmallow root and slippery elm to one of them and it would still preserve?
Yaya are you making an update video for the test? I definitely would love to hear your final synopsis. I have been experimenting with Xanthan and Guar gum in body washes and whewwww lol Guar gave me a run for my money! I did buy Aristoflex and Sepimax so excited to try those too. Have you tried Sepimax yet? Keep shining love ❤️
So pretty. What can I add naturally to create the hardness that regular edge control has. The stiff hold. Is it glycerin that creates that strong hold?
I’m kinda late but I am Loving this series !!!! And What were the measurements that you used ?
Yes I like xantham gum.
those look good, what do you use them for? i want to make lipgloss and some gel soaps. thank you for the video!
Could u please do a diy on temporary hair dye!? Thank u🥺🌹
Hey Love. can you please make a yoni shower gel thats clear ? I need help with the gelling agent and also the soap part if the formulation
Hi been obsessed with your vids! Can you make more diy for Yoni care x
Thank you! I do not have much experience in this area. However, I will try my best to look into it. 💜💜
Hi yaya, thanks for the videos
What preservatives can I use for a body butter please
Thank you so much for this video!! I have been practicing with Xantan and guar cum, making Arnica and St.Johns Wort pain gels, but quit making it for more research, because Xantan gum with the oils added, after few times rubbingon in the skin it makes flakes. Im now just using a organic after sun Aloe vera gel from the store and mix in the herbal oils that way, which work amazingly, but its very expensive.
Hey love your videos! I tried the HEC to make a clear aloe serum however after a few weeks it went from a beautiful consistency like the one shown on the video to complete runny water. Do you know why? Do you suggest mixing it with another ingredient to keep this consistency? Thank you!!
Great video ❤️‼️ does xanthum gum mix with Cocoglucoside for a body wash ? And also do u think it would make a good base for a light face serum ?
Xan+guar gum can give very high viscosity gel maybe even more than HEC when mixed half half for those interested
What is the mixing ratio of both of the gums
is there any residue
Thank you for posting this. If I wanted to mix two different thickeners together to make a gel, could I let them hydrate together?
Can you please make one for brow soap?
Thank you for another video!!! I love your channel. Could you make a video on preservatives? I couldn't find any on your video list
Thank you!! I have been trying to perfect this video for awhile now. It is just a lot of information. I will do my best to get it out. ✨😊💜
@@YayaDIYCreations awesome looking forward to.it..maybe part 1 and part 2?...also what can these thickeners be used for?
@@YayaDIYCreations I'd recommend Taralee's video. Info overload but definitely helpful.
Thanks! Quick question : where do u buy hec?
Hi can you make a cream curling activator wwith the hec? Does it sit well with btms 50 unlike xanthan gum?
Which one do you would you recommend for a facial gel mask ?
Yaya please which can we use to style the hair
Can these be used on the face and lips? & can we mix these 3 agents together?
Hey can we get a update with the preservation, viscosity and everything 😊?
Hey Yaya! I was wondering if you can used these in oil based products?
How would these bases work if you were making a Bodywash gel? Would adding different oils thin out the gel and make it watery?
Can I use any of these to make lipgloss base ? Which I’m probably going to try with Vaseline and aloe Vera ? Would these mix ? Lipgloss base is normally polybutene.
I normally make my gloss with wax but I believe water and wax don’t go together I believe do you know if it would work ? X
Great video x
Did you tare the cup weight before adding the guar cat? I'm trying to make this recipe but I wanna make sure I do everything right
All you have to do with guar gum, or guar cat is add more, and trust me it will get really thick. I used 1 tbsp to about 10oz of water and it is very thick.
As long as you stay within the suggested usage rate, it should be fine. Do what works for you. I believe I used the maximum dose for this size batch. I measure by weight only (in grams). I hope this helps.
Hi...what would you suggest for alovera gel...other than carbomer....with less greasy feeling and thick texture.????can u plz help me out
Hi yaya, what would you recommend for lipgloss as a base, I saw that these are water based I’m stuck!
Hello dear👋 ❤️ can you kindly tell me can HEC be used in replace of AVC?
Hi, Yaya what can I do about the flaking? I use the HPC thickening powder.
Amazing video, did you try Aloe vera powder!
Hello I really enjoy your videos. I am curious did you just mix water, a preservative, and then the 3 powered in separate containers to get these results? I have a customer that's wanting me to make hair gel for her dance studio and I'm having a hard time figuring out formulating this and wondering where you get all your course info. Thanks in advance.
Hello yaya how are you ? Can you make versagel for us please 🙏🏻
Hi Yaya thanks for sharing. When I add xanthan gum to my flaxseed gel and apply it to my hair, I have some residue and noticed that the residue is from the xanthan gum. How do you do to avoid these residues please?
How well do these agents work with oils?
Make sugar scrubs please!!!! Or lip scrubs!
Can you use these to make cosmetic glitter gels?
What would happen if you made a 10% mix of each of HEC, Guarcat and Xanthan Gum?
Which thickener is best for making a foam facial cleaner?
Yaya the gels can I use them on hair or skin?
Do you have to mix the gums with water at a certain temperature?
Hi yaya loved the video ✨ I was wondering if any of these were similar to the consistency of the tkb versagel from your DIY lipgloss video
Not at all. This are water based. From my knowledge, the TKB lipgloss base is emollient based. I hope this helps. 💜💜
Thanks for taking your time to reply I honestly don’t really know much about all the ingredients that’s why I enjoy watching your videos 💞
Yaya tanks for sharing your thoughts with us, sometimes is really hard to find the right thickener. What I don't like of Xantham Gum is the sticky feel on your skin, sometimes is hard to wash your face after using a mask or a moisture gel formulated with Xantham Gum ¿How do you fix it? I love your job, thanks for sharing
You are very welcome. I am happy to help. I would use a smaller amount of xanthan gum or combine it with a more conditioning thickener, like GuarCat. They work very well with each other. So, instead of using 2% xanthan gum, try 0.5 to 1% and add another less sticky thickener to make up for the other 1.5 to 1% respectively. I hope this helps 😊💜
@@YayaDIYCreations thank you very much!
could you use crothix thickener in a clear gel base for a gel body polish recipe? i only ever see people using xanthan gum clear and i'm not a fan. if so how would you do that? my inspiration was morrocan oils body polishing scrub. Thank you!
can this gel be used on your skin? for scar and other irritation? with the combanition of other ingredients?
What is the best thickener to us for liquid dishwashing soap
Can you make hair cream for hair growth and reduce hair fall
So I can use this with my aloe Vera gel and glycerin to make my body glitter gel but will it dry like I want it to
hello, im searching for a long time for thickeners that are not sticky on the skin. i found xanthan gum to be sticky, is HEC not sticky on the skin? have you also tried CMC?
The spoons & the temperature gauge...Are you willing to share where you got them or the “official name” of it to search it
What if I would like to add essential oil or a bit of other oil. How can they be made to mix since it's water based
Hi which of these works at low pH like 4 and can be combined with oil.
Can you use either one of the gel base in a hair gel
Can you make versagel or lip gloss base
Yaya, Are these moisturizer gel or hair gel???
Could you use these gels in lip gloss instead of versagel
Can you mix flaxseed gel and hec?
Hi Yaya! I will be making some of your products. I am a Certified BioScience Specialist. I promise to give you credit. Although I have a UA-cam channel, I am still determining if I will be doing videos sometime soon. I just wanted to tell you how very proud of you I am.
Is there an update to the hair gels?
Nataovis hec powder can be used
You need to add citric acid to the guar cat to get it to gel!
Which is best tickner for hair shampoo
Pl guide how make clear xanthan gum
I am interested in xanthan gum for buse in sweetner as thikner
Can you make lip gloss base video please thank you
I will do my best to test it and get it out. I am still in the discovery and testing stage. I hope this helps. 💜😊
Hi Yaya, thank you so much for all of your videos. I was thinking of making a hair gel with the xanthan gum base with aloe vera gel and flaxseed gel do you think that would work? X
I would have to test it or if you test it, let me know. I would personally use the thickeners as a base and then use aloe vera powder or hydrolyzed flaxseeds vs the actual gels. This will provide a product that is more stable and with a longer shelf life. Also, it is possible that the viscosity would be affected. It would be best to test a small batch. Let me know how it goes. 💜😊
@@YayaDIYCreations thank you so much Yaya for replying. Defo going to experiment and let you know x
Xanthan gum is anionic and btms is cationic. So no, you should not use them both together in one formula. They will fight each other.
Have you found anything that makes a super thick but it's the closest to being crystal clear?
Is the HEC protein sensitive?
What preservative can be used?
Sir can you help me for making hard hair wax making process
Can u make wax powder
HEC is food grade.. 1:2 water add.. please answer..
