Million Mile Phil is an absolute motorcycling legend and an inspiration to me to ride as much as possible! Please keep sharing his updates, I love watching them!
Just letting everyone know that Super Phil is now back in Lakeland, Florida. If you want to ride with or meet the living legend, he usually rides with the Geezers group ( on Facebook) at 8 a.m. Tuesdays at the east side ( near Red Lobster ) of Lakeland Mall.
I am quite surprised that he’s happy on it, after SO many miles on the previous generation. Overall mass of the previous version is much for suited for hours on end. Thanks for introducing him to the world!
Phil’s mileage on tires is insane. I remember when I bought my 2013 wing, it failed inspection at 3,800 miles and I ran it till 4,600 miles and then replaced it. He has to have some secrets. Best I’ve done on my wing mpg was about 47. In the 50’s would be great, that 94 pound reduction and tuning makes a world of difference, nice work!
I have a theory as to why he gets insane mileage out of tires: He rides an average of 274 miles a day. 1 heating and cooling cycle a day. Whereas most riders would have 5 or 6 heating/cooling cycles per 274 miles. Maybe tires wear faster the more frequently they heat and cool. No one- zero riders ever- besides Phil get 45,000 on rear tires and 60,000 on front tires. Not even close. Best I ever got was 24,000 on a Dunlap rear. And I have gotten 54,000 on a Bridgestone Battlax rear sport bike tire mounted on the front of my 02 Wing..
@@kentonkloos3490 that is a theory that makes sense to me. How did you come about running a rear on the front? I was always under the impression that the compounds were not compatible to the different duties of each position, but a rear sport tire would be stickier… interesting
What wears tires out most is braking. Aggressive acceleration and cornering wear them faster too, and I don't see Phil riding that way. Rolling down the highway with the cruise on for thousands of miles with proper inflation doesn't wear much.
@@markman7 I was looking for the less obvious reasons, I’m a very conservative rider in my opinion, no hard accelerations, snub braking and downshifts, don’t rev above 3k etc and he gets 3 to 4 times the distance. Even when I was commuting 700 miles a week I only got 12k out of rear tire, the center wore out as to be expected with any tire running mainly highway.
Well, at 250,000, you'll hafta ride at least 100,000 a year for 18 years, and Phil will need to quit riding this evening... He has over 2,000,000 just on Wings since 1975.
Insane, dude. Respect to you! Honda needs to invite you to HQ. I have 17k on a 2020 DCT Tour lol. One day, I hope to rake miles like you. Or, close to it 😂
Whaat? So Phil was already riding 10 years and I was just barely born and I don't even consider myself a young dude anymore turning 40 next summer and having 20 years on bikes under my belt! If I had a chance to ride with him I'd pay his gas and his burger for the day 😅
Hats off Phil! You are an motorcycling Ambassador and inspiration for all ages. Thank you. Safe travels and many mile smiles. Congratulations.

I'd love to follow the group he rides with but searching Geeezers doesn't come up with much. What is the group's specific name if you know? Thanks

I don't trust this info about tyres renew intervals....is he flying or rolling on the street
Read my reply to Kwhopperfan below...
Great stuff. Mr Steiner what pressure are you running the tyres?
41 psi each

How far are you from Lima Ohio? He'll be there til October 31, then in Lakeland, Florida November- April..
@@kentonkloos3490 sorry for the delay I hadn't seen your reply until now. I live in the UK so pretty far unfortunately.
