Three of Bill Murray’s brothers are also in the movie. His brother John plays this brother James . His brother Joel was a guest at his brother’s party , his brother Brian plays his dad.
I always wondered why they had Lee Majors do that role. He was still well known at the time but his action hero days were over. Someone like Harrison Ford or Sly Stallone would have been better. And the younger generations definitely know who they are.
14:09 "Hey, Marlin Perkins..." The great zoologist Marlin Perkins hosted the extremely popular TV show "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" from 1963 to 1985. Perkins and his sidekick, Jim Fowler, brought the magnificent animal kingdom to our televisions every week. Kids back then learned all about the animals of the world from this TV show. It was MUST SEE TV!!
9:40 - Lew Hayward is one of my top favorite 'undead' makeup jobs of all time. I'm a makeup artist by profession; I've done many zombie-type makeups. I love zombie movies. I've seen a lot of zombies, mummies, undead corpses, etc. And I have my favorites. And this is one of them. One thing that makes him so different is that he is DRY. Most zombies go for the pros factor by being WET. Blood, goo, ooze, glistening gross scabs and stuff. Those are fresh zombies. But this guy had been buried in the dirt for years, and he is desiccated, dusty, and dry. Another thing is the eyes. Many undead will use contacts to show white eyeballs, like the cataracts or death have clouded them over. But again: that's "freshly dead." The eyes are one of the first things to go; they're so fragile, and so prone to drying out and shrinking into little eyeball raisins, and the eyelids shrivel up, and you're left with hollow, shriveled sockets, like Mr. Hayward here has got. It's spot-on. And the mouse with the golf ball? So hilarious. Sorry for waxing poetic about the nuances of dead bodies recreated through makeup magic, but I always love to give credit where credit is due. The team of Tom and Bari Burman did such a fantastic job with all of the makeup in this film, and especially that first Ghost. It sets the tone for the whole story, and they hit it out of the park.
The "Dick" the homeless people were referencing was Richard Burton. He was a famous actor in the 1950s who was also famous for having a VERY volatile relationship with Elizabeth Taylor. The movies they did together were major epics of the time.
Thanks Biss, great reaction as always! When that black kid at the end says God bless everyone, tears of joy start rolling down my face everytime. The world needs to put more Love in its heart for sure. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God bless everyone ❤️❤️❤️😊
A Christmas Carol has been done many times in many forms - 'Scrooged' is definitely among the best, but a favorite in my house is 'The Muppets Christmas Carol' - we watch it every Christmas Eve, thoroughly recommend you watching if you've not seen it yet! You wouldn't think it so being a film with puppets, but it's a surprisingly faithful feel-good adaptation with a lot of heart & humor ... and the legendary Michael Caine as Scrooge just has to be seen to be believed!! ❤😁
My favorite (for personal reasons) is The Rich Little Christmas Special, with legendary impressionist Rich Little playing almost all the characters, as other people. WC Fields as Scrooge, Inspector Clouseau as Christmas Future, with appearances by John Wayne, Columbo, Edith Bunker, Paul Lynde, Groucho Marx... Another one of those where only us old farts (and those with a serious knowledge of American pop culture) will get the references.
Carol Kane also played Simka, wife of Latka (Andy Kaufman) in 70s TV series 'Taxi' along with Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd. In that role, like many of her roles, her accent sounds a lot like Bisscute.
I also love the ghost of Christmas present. I don't think I've made toast without saying "It's a TOASTER!" since. Carol Kane is great. You've seen her in The Princess Bride, where she played Valerie (the wife of Miracle Max, and NOT a witch!)
For a very long time, I have always considered this to be the greatest Christmas movie ever made. That's saying a lot, especially when there are so many classics that I love. Yes, I'm aware that it's not an original story (I mean, duh) but it's just perfectly done. It has everything. The comedy is on point, the cast is superb, the pacing is flawless, the effects are extraordinary for its time, and when the tone gets dark, that's when the message hits hard.
Biss! If you want to see more of Karen Allen (Claire), check out "Starman" (1984). 👍👍 Allen co-stars with Jeff Bridges, who plays a visiting alien who takes the form of Jenny's recently deceased husband. It's a very touching science fiction drama, with romance and some comedy mixed in. Jeff Bridges was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor.
The actor who plays the brother is actually Bill Murray's brother, and the actor who portrays his father when he was a kid is his other brother in real life
The rant that Francis Xavier Cross (Bill Murray) does at the end where he talks to the TV audience was pretty much totally improvised on the spot and I think recorded in one take.
The Ghost of Christmas Past, is David Johansen, he was the singer for the NY band New York Dolls, he also did comedy and was a stand up character named Buster Poindexter on Saturday Night Live.
Music, not comedy. Around 1982, Johansen began performing under the pseudonym Buster Poindexter in a small club in his neighborhood. He adopted the pseudonym to avoid fans of his music from coming to the shows and asking for his music. The shows grew in popularity, and gradually the original three piece band with which he performed grew in size to the Banshees of Blue, accompanied by The Uptown Horns. They achieved moderate commercial success, performing jump blues, traditional pop, swing, and novelty songs. Shortly before the album's release, Buster began appearing as part of the house band on the television program Saturday Night Live.
I mentioned in Patreon that I had only vaguely remembered this version of the classic tale around the Scrooge character. From what I remember, it was a welcomed departure from the traditional Christmas Carole, similar to the plot of this film. However, it retains the redemption story and inserts a lot of comedy-in a light-hearted and fun romp. Thanks, Biss, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.🎄

At 11:04, that werent cavitys, that were fillings and a crown. At this time it was common to use a dark grey cement like paste for fillings and titan, platin or gold for crowns, "white" fillings and crowns became common around 2000
Bob "Bobcat" Goldthwait (the mousy guy Bill Murray fires and subsequently hunts with a shotgun) was from a line of performative comedians like Gilbert Gottfried, Rodney Dangerfield, Andy Kaufman, Phyllis Diller, Sam Kinison, Barry Humphries, etc. They were ALWAYS in character in the public eye. They never acted as their normal selves, except for Goldthwait who has dropped his act and funny voice.
Another video I had a great time watching (and watching your reaction) and believe it or not but have never watched this before so had added bonus of enjoying this nicely timed movie for first time with you. Great video!👍😊
Great to see you react to this, that revelation scene with Bill Murray addressing the cameras always resonates to me. Awesome reaction, Bisscutie! :) xx
Excellent choice. A great feel-good Christmas movie. Another favorite of mine is The Ref with Dennis Leary and Kevin Spacey. Very funny but it's not very well known for some reason. I try to watch it every Christmas.
Bob "Bobcat" Goldthwait started his successful career as a stand up comedian. He is best known for his fits of screaming, which developed during his stand up performances. When he first did his stand up routines, Bobcat was so nervous on stage, he would involuntarily go into screaming fits. They were not part of his act. Great reaction Biss like always, the last monologue by Murray was mostly ad-libbed on the spot? Director later said that Bill was in the zone and gave the performance of his life, spur of the moment. Love that whole ending act. Another fun fact from this movie: Bill Murray told Carol Kane (Ghost of Xmas Present) to just hit him as hard as she could to make it as good as possible for the bits. And she did, so all those times he gets nailed in the crotch or smashed in the face, were all real hits Kane did to Murra. "Bitch hit me with a toaster" was essentially a meme for 2 full years after that came out. Keep up the good work.
Lee Majors is a leading man who was probably best known for playing the lead in the television series "The Six Million Dollar Man" in the early 1970's.
Every Christmas in grade school my friend and I would have to watch this movie and laugh our asses off at the beginning where Santa gets attacked and wish that was a real movie. And also quote the acid rain/drug addiction commercial.
The Ghost of Christmas Past was played by the incredibly talented David Johansen. Among other things, he had a musical "alter ego" called Buster Poindexter. You should react to his mega hit "Hot Hot Hot", even though my personal favorite is "Smack Dab In The Middle". He also acted in several other movies, and was a member of the Dolls, a legendary early New York punk band.
I have to be honest, this is more my kind of Christmas movie. Not that I can’t appreciate the classics, but what a unique, creative spin. And Bill Murray is brilliant at comedy. 🎄🎁
3:26 Bob "Bobcat" Golthwait "nervous" voice is not how he normally talks. It is a character he developed doing stand-up comedy. He kept up the personna in several movies. These days he is a director. 28:24 Carol Kane tore Murray's lip filming this scene. He required stiches. 41:18 "Feed me" is a reference to another movie Murray did, "Little Shop of Horrors" Murray hated the experience of filming this movie. Director Richard Donner kept asking him to perform with more and more energy, more manic energy.
Despite being a Bill Murray I was never all that crazy about this movie. However, watching it with Bisscute was very enjoyable. Biss is a great laugher as she really belts out those laughs. Biss, excuse me if someone mentioned this already. In the scene where he sees the waiter setting himself on fire “Lumpy” embarrassingly says “I thought you were Richard Pryor”. Pryor was a popular comedian/actor from the 1970’s and 80’s who had a serious drug addiction and while doing drugs he doused himself with rum and set himself on fire. Thankfully he lived.
22:30 The Ginsu Knives are an anachronism. In the story, this happens in 1969, but Ginsu knives weren't sold until 1978 under a different name. The "Ginsu" name didn't come along until 1983. Ginsu knives were sold through direct marketing similar to the Slap Chop: Original Ginsu commercial: ua-cam.com/video/abLB7aTmnE4/v-deo.html Slap Chop commercial: ua-cam.com/video/UxGn2Egekic/v-deo.html

Thanks for reaction
The actor playing Lew Hayward, John Forsythe, also was the patriarch of the Carringtons in "Dynasty"
Oh I see
the last line: FEED ME Seymour was improvise by bill murray and a reference to little shop of horror musical movie 1986!!!!
I must often watch your reactions to sleep:) because after this had a dream, i was Scrooged, and you was my Claire :D very nice dream :)
Biss identifies with the fairy who likes the rough stuff...noted :) Fun reaction Biss! Merry Christmas!
Gotcha, glad you enjoyed this
3:26 Bob "Bobcat" Golthwait "nervous" voice is not how he normally talks. It is a character he developed doing stand-up comedy. He kept up the personna in several movies. These days he is a director.
28:24 Carol Kane tore Murray's lip filming this scene. He required stiches.
41:18 "Feed me" is a reference to another movie Murray did, "Little Shop of Horrors"
Murray hated the experience of filming this movie. Director Richard Donner kept asking him to perform with more and more energy, more manic energy.
Thanks for the info
@@BissFlix You're welcome. If you watch Little Shop of Horrors, the alternate ending is far better than the theatrical ending.
hey can you please put gloves on and do a reaction to the movie anaconda can I request that
Oh shit this is one of my favourite christmas films! and my favourite youtuber! winner winner chicken dinner.
Very very nice. In Italian.. " S.O. S. Fantasmi " Grazie beautiful Biss
Merry Bissmas!🎄🤣
BILL MURRY BABY!!! You will never go wrong with him in a movie!
the 4th wall break climax of the film always gets me a bit teary eyed.
Thanks for watching
Carol Kane played the adorably violent Ghost of Xmas Present- probably my favorite part of the whole film.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
22:30 The Ginsu Knives are an anachronism. In the story, this happens in 1969, but Ginsu knives weren't sold until 1978 under a different name. The "Ginsu" name didn't come along until 1983.
Ginsu knives were sold through direct marketing similar to the Slap Chop:
