- Tornadoes have swept across huge swaths of Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Illinois with at least two killed in an Arkansas nursing home, according to a report. An Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, had its roof sheared off, and people were trapped inside. Emergency crews were on the scene trying to free those caught in the tornado's path. The Kentucky town of Mayfield was also badly hit, according to reports, with debris thrown 30,000 feet into the air.

There's nothing more terrifying then a tornado at night it's extremely dangerous for even storm chasers let alone normal drivers without the weather systems to track the storm.
Bad enough during the day.
There is... two tornadoes at night!
So dangerous especially at night. Bless them poor souls let us hope the surviving people are safe.
Thank you.
Hey. 🌼
@@Littlewing6was9
Nice to see you 🌼
I've just seen some drone footage of the aftermath, in Kentucky. It was hard to watch, and harder to get my head around it. I applaude the bravery and the hands on approach the communities are making to rebuild and find lost loved ones. 🌼 The press conference I saw said the authorities pledge full support and swift action. But thry always do. I feel saddened by this. I know some of you that live in areas/states mentioned and tonight I'll light a candle and send love and prayers.

Sorry my reply just disappeared
Agreed all we can do is pray with Love
@Maddie’s Life
I am glad you are safe. Take care :).
you couldn’t even really see what was going on. only the lightening highlighted the tornado. it looks huge. the wind is tearing through. really scary. thank you to whom ever shot this video - amazing!!
Wow 😲 that was a monster storm. RIP to those who perished. May the survivors find healing and recover well 💐
it destroyed our city we are using a generator
I was on the amtrack train when it happened
I was in Oklahoma during the May 3rd, 1999 tornado outbreak. I was driving for Davis Transport at the time. I'm a truck driver so I've been in situations that weren't pleasant. 60 people were killed in that event just in Oklahoma alone.
I can't imagine anything more terrifying than a tornado at night, especially if it's rain wrapped.
Nature is both amazing and scary. It's one of the things i'm grateful for here in the UK, the weather is equally as boring as everything else.
Nothing boring about weather in the US plains and Midwest, indeed ! I'm used to it and as long as they aren't hitting people, I get mesmerized by the TV full coverage during threatening tornado and severe weather. conditions.
Well you got the Lockdown, nothing boring about that, rationing food yet?
@@yourworstnightmareiscathoc7015 we are not in lockdown

The fact that people had to die this way, with this in the background is terrifying. These are our neighbors. America should unite, and not be so petty towards each other. We are all going through real things.
Amen to that! 🙌
Amen sir 🙏🙏 let’s set aside petty differences
What do you mean by "unite"? Will that help stop tornadoes?
@@ozzierabbit587 as in stop arguing and behaving like hooligans and see the reality and help each other

That is absolutely terrifying!
That is a monster of a tornado, it must have been terrifying for those affected.
It’s so sad that many people were injured, killed and had homes destroyed. 😥
My heart broke for all those people who had to go through that.. 💔
Rest in peace for the souls who left this earth 🌹😞
Yeah it was pretty sad specially the ones who died in the candle factory.
Look at the size of that thing.
Praying for all affected. 🇺🇸
@Emblem of Vigilance not a confirmed 5 but one tornado broke the Tri-State tornado’s longest “long-track” record of 219 miles. The mentioned “Quad-State” tornado went upwards of 230 miles and lasted for 4 hours. It was terrifying.
Wow I heard 70+ people dIED last night in Kentucky coz of a giant wedge Tornado, like let EF-4 or EF-5... and its the worst tornado that the state of Kentucky has ever had. Pray for all the people who have been affected by the tornadoes from this absolutely vicious storm system! 😳🥺😲🤯
More to come today I believe so stay weather Savvy in Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tenesee and North Carolina. Severe storms forecast. Stay safe everyone! 👍👍 😎😁 ✌ & ❤
Pretty sure this is the tornado that hit Mayfield Ken. Mayfield is right across the Mississippi from Caruthersville Mo where this was shot!
@@OzarkRiver-Banks it hit every west county in kentucky
It's horrifying...yet also tragically beautiful. The lightning flickers through the storm and shows the true size of the monster...perhaps only existing because of our continued disrespect of mother earth.
Global warming is a myth, my friend.. at least it being caused solely by humans is. With or without us and our technologies, the earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling. The ice age was a clear example of that.
Most storms I watch from my porch. This was not one of them.
Nighttime tornadoes 🌪 are an absolute nightmare.
It's hard to watch this knowing that people are actually dying during it. Horrible.
PRAYER🙏 for all this people the live in MISSOURI 😪❤
That thing is huge. They said it stayed on the ground for 200 miles
A photograph was found 130 miles away, that’s how powerful this tornado was.. absolutely terrifying 😪
Two tornadoes this was the first of two long track tornadoes
The thing that sets these storms apart(besides being at night) is the very long track and maintained strength. We have had worst tornadoes in terms of extreme EF5 damage in Oklahoma(Moore 1999, 2013, record size 3.6 mi. across near El Reno, 2013) but the tracks were not nearly as long, partly because they moved more slowly at 20- 30mph, compared to 50mph in the cross state outbreak.
I drove right through there this morning where it crossed the interstate 55... There was three or four 18 wheelers wadded up or just turned over along the road next to a house that got hit. Very sad to see.
Listen im only 14 and this is the most terrifying thing i have ever ever experienced it sounded like a fright train and it was dark and u couldnt see anything i unfortunately lost my three cats and my dog but im lucky to be alive RIP to anyone who past during this😔🙏
Աստված ջան անգամ տեսանյութը նայելուց մարդ սարսափ է զգում։ Շատ եմ ցավում տեղի բնակիչների համար😢😢😢😢
terrible during the day horrific at night, poor people and animals.
Excellent video. Not only shows the size and intensity, but also the incredible speed that it was moving.
I went past the path of the tornado on I-40 a few days after. When we first got to it it was heavily treed along the freeway. We thought holy s@#% we must be right in the middle of the path. Then we went about a 1/2 mile further and then we were definately in its path as it had crossed the road. 100ft trees....ALL DOWN.
Absolutely NONE standing for about a 1/2 mile wide. Dozers out getting the down trees further away from the freeway. It was amazing the destruction.
To know that there is without a doubt a large tornado somewhere out there in the darkness incredibly close to your location and you are not able to determine what it's doing or where it's headed, has got to be the most horrific experiences one could imagine in a storm..
Is this a reality? I can not imagine living those states, I am sorry what happened.
Want to know what's more terrifying than a large, fast tornado at night? A large, fast tornado at night enveloped in rain.
Also, do we know an average speed for this behemoth?
Don't know but I heard winds reached 220mph
imagine looking out your window and seeing that heading for you! terrifying!
And you can only see it when lightning strikes
Wow that was a big wedge. The lightning lighting it up was so ominous too in the video.
The power is insane.
1:16 WOW!
Night tornado...very dangerous and scary.Stormchaser Reed Timmer predicted an outbreak already a week ago in his streams...great guy...i am convinced Reed saved lives in de days before this tragic event.
I was there at the tornado in Mayfeild rip to the hundreds who passed
1:17 I’m so glad I live in a state that doesn’t get many tornadoes and none so deadly. I don’t get how folks can stand to live in places that have them :( It’s so awful to see happen much less experience first hand.
we were a quarter mile from it and it took out everything in its path .....im from ohio county ky and we hardly ever get this kind of weather .....of course we get fairly bad storms from time to time but nothing compared to this ....this was one freak of nature !!
Some of these places are hardly ever hit with any severe weather.. Do they have severe storms in spring and fall sometimes, yes but nothing on a magnitude like this. I live in NW Georgia and we have worse storms than western Kentucky usually. It was so warm for a December day and it only strengthened them as the storms were forming. When the front passed through here, I was shocked even with the system dramatically weakened, how strong the wind and lightning were. Such a freak thing for December. Seems the past few years it’s the months we shouldn’t expect things are the ones we should start preparing for.
@@charlespayne5146 so glad you guys are ok. I’m outside of Chattanooga and kept following police and fire scanners in the storms path in Kentucky all night because I have an aunt in bowling green(their neighborhood by WKU was hit hard but are ok!). It really has affected me tremendously. The shear fear and terror In the voices of the law enforcement officers over the scanners is something that will stay with me forever. So sad. Again, I’m so thankful you are ok. My goodness that was a night of terror. Also, is there any local charities in the area accepting donations or goods? I’d rather give to the local charities so I know it will be handed out to those in need right now and help some communities that may be otherwise overlooked by the big guns.
This storm that happen were not ordinary, this was a freak of nature storm or as they call a extreme weather phenomena. The tornado that crossed for over 200+ kilometers was nothing before seen in a lot of the states that got hit by that tornado that was a ef4 or a ef5 by the looks of it that didn't look like a ef5 it destroyed everything including buildings they where flattened.
What an amazing storm, even without the tornado!
I live in Midwest but not near the storm, I had a dream last night that almost perfectly resembled this tornado. It was a dream about the tornado beginning to break out from the dark clouds like wtf how did I dream so vividly of a natural disaster that I didn’t know happened
Ooooohhhh you know the future…
@@user-vf7xc1yw9r obviously
@@user-vf7xc1yw9r except the dream was happening while it was happening. So I could not have done anything.
Magic
maybe you're clairvoyant
It only took 2 hours for the tornado to pass 4 states
This horror reminds me the Tuscaloosa's one. :(
It was moving at 60 mph! That is insane.
imagine driving and seeing behind you a giant tornado passing the highway you just passed
I have from underneath a bridge. I got out of the car and wedged myself under the bottom of the bridge. Semi truck and cars were picked up and thrown 100’ from me. The protection of the bridge lowered my profile enough to where I felt more safe than in my car. And, it worked. The other vehicles were hit and flipped while mine was not. Got really lucky with that one. No major injuries suffered by anyone there. Under any other scenario you really should not get out of the car unless you are right next to a deep drainage ditch.
Wow this is horrible praying for everyone effected.
I've wondered if shining powerful spotlights at tornadoes from vehicles, could help people get somewhat oriented at night.
Tornado at night! Now that's scary!
Wow! Incredible video. Terrifying for those who were there. RIP for those who had lost their lives.
these lightning bolts are there just to add a touch of horror
This is the best tornado footage I have seen so far.
I hope y’all get help and houses . This is very sad . Stay strong !!
Even more impressive at night with all these lightning !
You are so brave that thing is a monster 😰 so sorry for people who lost their life's, I can't imagine how horrifying that would of been
This massive tornado is like having a real life Godzilla destroying everything its path. 😨😨
The level of devastation these tornadoes caused is beyond words. 😔😔
I call these 'Earth blenders'
🤐
Gosh, that is a massive thing!
Believe it or not, I even feel bad for Amazon... Particularly the employees out of work now. Hope they are safe.
@@alkdjfhgks1919 So rich they constructed a pole barn for a warehouse.
It looks like a EF5! Holy cow! 😱
C est juste impensable voir de telle tornades en décembre en hiver!! Incroyable 🥺
Soooo sorry for people, animals 😾 and tree's 🎄😓🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
I didn’t think about the animal! Ohhhhhh….. my poor babies. Rest on pieace cats and dog and cows and pigs and other animals
Unreal 1:16
Sometimes we forget how powerful Mother Nature is. Please don’t take this planet for granted 🙏
Hard to believe that traveled 240 miles
That dust demon grew angry for sure. Condolences for the families of those persons.
A tornado- at night- plus rain wrapped? && driving????
That’s a recipe for disaster! You cannot see it and you cannot hear it while driving! That’s terrifying.
One of my friends went camping last night, (we live in Missouri, where there was some tornados) and i have not heard a single word from him. Ive messaged him on 3 different things & usually he responds immediately. But i do have the fear that he was affected by the tornado. Oh and plus a Tornado missed me by 5 miles, wrecking havoc on another neighborhood.
I hope he is okay
Any word yet?
@@DG-AI777 No, still haven’t gotten a response.
@@boebiden8499 will keep them in my prayers 🙏
I'm glad we live in SoCal.. yes we get a little wiggle now and then but that is just simply terrifying!
That is terryfying its dark and a tornado hits. Those poor people . :( i. From canada we donr get weather like that
Wow! That looks to be massive!
mother nature is so powerfull
My hands have gone like jelly watching this ..I can't believe these actually exist it's just so horrifying those poor people to be hit in the night by this it's literally heartbreaking xr .i.p to all who passed x
Night tornadoes are SCARY!
Literally a storm from hell.....
Dangerous and terrifying yet beautiful, all at the same time!
That’s a big tornado, so scary at night. I live in Moore Oklahoma and my tornado bag stays packed all year long. Definitely looks like F5 damage. You never forget it.
Im sad watching this😭😭😭😭Praying for all the lost souls departed🙏
Man that thing looks like its from another world. My heart goes out to all that were affected :(. Great video though
The power and silence of that thing is something out of a movie. I’m scared watching it!!!
That was huge ....
The tornado was pretty big
Yes
HORRIFYING 😱
This Is A Scary Scene!
Wow! Il faut être courageux pour faire une poursuite pendant la nuit.
Thank you for this amazing footage of such a horrific storm. Prayers to those affected by this. Climate change is real and only we can slow it down.
Yup, you drank the Kool Aid. Tornadoes have been around since creation. Go kiss a tree. 🌲
Keep dreaming its climate change
Tornadoes typically happen when the cold air coming from the west, clashes with warm air out ahead of it..
its like something from nightmares
This tornado is going down in history.
Imagine being on a road when you see that
I knew from how high the winds were here in texas some bad tornados were going to happen east of here
Pause @ 1:17 to see tornado lit up by the lightning
You have to wonder if those drivers even saw that monster
What a monster
That thing was huge
Day it's amazing, but in the night became nightmare
The damn thing looks to be over a mile wide.
Is this the one that hit Kentucky? That looks so 😟 scary
Yes
Bro that nader needs to chill
A real monster...
I’m more worried about the kids and how traumatized they’ll be😔💔
🙏
Just unbelievable
🙏🏼
Amen
Just want to take a minute to big up storm chasers.
Without them many more people would die in these circumstances. (They track and monitor and report to emergency services, which allows some people time to shelter or even evacuate.
