I’m still trying to figure out the best use for either of these. They both are on big sale in my country. The best way to determine is like you said, what you are going to be primarily using it for. Anything that is this expensive needs to be carefully thought out. Seeing as the iPad Air weighs about the same as a iPad 9th or 10th generation, it is a little bit too heavy when you add a case on it for everyday travel and carry. However, if you are replacing a laptop, then this can be an OK trade off. My biggest concern is how is the movie watching experience on the iPad mini? I have a lot of movies and TV shows with subtitles in other languages that I’m trying to use as a learning aid. I would also like to be able to use this for quick, on the go, Excel spreadsheet updates. A larger screen usually would help with this. But since I use a laptop primarily I’m not sure if it would be worth spending the extra money to get the bigger, iPad Air if I’m only going to be doing spreadsheet about 10% of the time. I’m not sure if I really need the bigger screen or not. It would be nice to save a little bit of money.
1) we’re not expecting any new iPads this year according to leaks, but 2) if we do get new iPads they’ll be more expensive than these rn. Considering Apple’s been shafting everyone outside the US with huge price hikes I would recommend getting one of these rn because they’ve come down in price.
I want to upgrade from my iPad air 2 but I’m still torn between the iPad air 5 and the iPad mini. I would like to go for the mini since I already have my macbook pro M1 so I don’t need another big screen, and I would be using it for reading books and taking notes, but I’ve heard that the battery life on the mini is just not it which is a deal breaker for me. What would you advise me to buy?
Using the iPad mini for read and note taking is good; those activities doesn’t need a lot of battery so u would have enough for 2, 3 days if u used the iPad for those activities, I used my iPad for watch movies, UA-cam and drawing and the battery is super good, I can reach the end of the day
Lol then it just comes down to which size you prefer imo - I would advise you see them in person first before buying if possible, but personally since I don’t need the power of the M1 and I use my iPad as a regular tablet for watching videos and scrolling on socials, the mini’s size is perfect for me
Which would you buy - the iPad Air or iPad mini?

I love my iPad Mini 6 but if I could only have one computer I would definitely choose the iPad Air, since I already have a laptop it’s the Mini for me
I'd say wait 2-5 months until they are both upgraded...

thank you answering my question within the first five min! do more please
Hands down bro got pretty good acent
Buy the Air discounted. Don’t buy it new. The iPad mini is justified.
So what to buy new? iPad mini.
Even the mini can be found for less refurbished or from third parties tbh, honestly you shouldn't buy any iPad directly from Apple rn lol
iPad Air 4 is good for me

The battery is the same for each ipad
I guess iPad 10 is no good 😂
If both of them are selling at the same price, then?😅
