I have 2 google drive accounts. Is it possible to have them both open at the same time? Also, I need to be able to differentiate between the two to make sure I am keeping files in the correct one. Help please.
Unfortunately the way the google software works you can't have them both open at the same time (annoying, I know). And differentiating between them is also less than ideal. It's one of the reasons I encourage users to consoldate their google data into one account whenever possible. It will probably be easier for you to manage them through the google drive app, switching between the two accounts. It was so badly explained by Apple, and it was compl;iocated by the fact they released it on the Computer as well (which really didn't need it)... Glad we got you sorted out!
I’d like to know the app used for the custom widgets. I’ve seen a few but they are usually sub-par and still carry the app name under the widget image.
I used color widgets for the one seen in this video. I also like Widgetsmith. Color widgets has a lot of functionality in the free version. I should also say that I used Canva to build some of the images.
This was a great video. Tons of information. I recently created a shortcut that opens You Tube and Notes in Split Screen. I used that to take detailed notes while watching this video

Absolutely awesome! Being a newbie I was a little intimidated but excited. I watched your live Reminders Masterclass you provided a handout, Do you offer a handout for this video as well? Thank you so much.😊
I don't currently have a handout for this video, but I will definitely reach out to my team and have them put one together. Can't promise when it will be ready, but keep your eyes open.
Hi Dylan. Great video, thanks so much. I loved your screen organisation and the little widgets like he’s crafty… how did you make those? Have you done a video on how to create them?
Hi, Michelle. I made them with a combination of the website/app Canva and a widget-making tool called Color Widgets. I've also used one I like called Widget Smith. Both of them can add photos or other things and make widgets out of them. It didn't occur to me that so many people would ask about them in this video. Now I am definitely considering creating a video specifically to show how I did it.
There are several that you can use. Many are paid, but most have a lot you can do in the free version. My favorites are WidgetSmith and Color Widgets, but I have also been playing around with Quike. The ones in this video were made with Color Widgets.

Great video, I learned so many new things. I have the iPad Pro M4 and the Apple Pencil pro. I have started digital planning which I love. Every time I go to use my pencil to write, when I touch the screen with my hand or pencil the keyboard comes up. I have watched videos of different topics and when they go to write on the screen there is no keyboard. How do I get mine to stop popping up when I do not need it. I know I can make it smaller but that is still 9n the way

It really depends on what you plan to do with it... The only way to get the 16GB is to go up to 1TB or 2TB which can make it a pretty expensive purchase. If it's a computer replacement and you will be doing video editing and photoshop level work you should get the 16GB... but if you are just going to use it to surf the web, answer emails and watch videos 8GB is plenty.

This is REALLY fantastic and very helpful - THANKS! The FILES APP (28:48) is the only exception to these methods on my new ipad (current version IpadOS 18.2) because it does NOT show the contents of what is on my iPad; no matter what I do, only 4 folders show up, and I know there are quite a large number. I am convinced the Files App is buggy. I wonder if I should remove it and reinstall if that is even possible. Thanks again.
Remember that the Files app only shows things that are stored in your iCloud Drive, (unless you connect it to your Dropbox and Google Drive). If you are not seeing all your files, click on "Browse", go to iCloud Drive, and confirm that it matches with iCloud Drive on your computer. Files that are not on your desktop, Documents folder, or inside iCloud Drive will not show up automatically on Files. Deleting and reinstalling it likely won't make any change. Take a look at what you see here and follow these steps, and let me know if you're still struggling.
@@TheMacWhisperer THANK YOU! I honestly had no idea the Files app shows only the iCloud. Wow. Now I see why my wife siggested I also use something called the Documents App, which she uses a lot. Obviously, I am new to iPad.
I've used several, but the ones on this video were either made using Color Widgets or Widgetsmith. The free versions can give you a lot of options. I also used Canva to create some of the images. In the near future I will be making a UA-cam video showing how I did it.

You mentioned a widget creation application, but you do not say which one it is or seem to provide a link in your information about this video. By the way, it’s a well done video and I greatly appreciate you doing this. I’m sharing that with a lot of my family and friends who need basic information on how to use your iPads
Thanks for the compliment! The info about which widget I used got left on the cutting room floor... basically there are several that you can use. Many are paid, but most have a lot you can do in the free version. My favorites are WidgetSmith and Color Widgets, but I have also been playing around with Quike. The ones in this video were made with Color Widgets (and a little graphic help from Canva).
....also, I just ordered an iPad Air 4. I was ready to order the iPad 10, but a UA-cam video comparing the two had suggested that although a bit older in release, the air 4 is simply a better iPad. So I will have that here form amazon in a day or two. Does this video apply to the air 4? do the gestures and tips work the same, and what videos would you recommend to get me going on my new air 4?
The iPad Air 4 is a fantastic device, light years ahead of the iPad 10. The iPad 10 doesn't use the proper pencil (it uses pencil 1 instead of the far superior pencil 2), so that's a total pain in the butt. Everything we talked about here should work on the Air, and should be mostly the same... Keep in mind that my video was made on an M4 iPad Pro, so there may be slight differences, but the basic stuff should all function the same.
I used a combination of Canva and awidget creating tools called Color Widgets. (I have also used Widget Smith in the past). I didn't realize how much attention those widgets were going to get in this video, so I will be filming a video in the near future teaching people how to do it.
I think the Air is a better machine than the 10th, and can utilize the better Apple Pencil 2 (the Pencil 1 is useless)... but the 10 is cheaper (and you can still get the 9 which is even cheaper...), so it always come down to are you going to use the pencil, if yes... go Air. If not, go with the 10.
Not a bug, I did an edit on the video and I had changed the color to the magenta shade, but that change got cut. Good for you for recognizing the change. Just a video edit...
The widgets were created using a combination of Canva and an ap called color widgets. If you want more info, please join us for one of out weekly live videos...
It depends on what folder is open when you click the scan button. By using the Browse functionality, you can navigate to a very specific folder and do the scan there (like your desktop or your documents folder). Then you will know exactly where to find it.
On the different pages say creative, you had a large image that says "he's creative". How did you do that? I would like to label each of the pages I made from my folders
I used a widget called "Color Widgets". Along with designing some of the elements in Canva. There are several third-party widget apps that will help you make widgets just like that... I have used both Color Widget and Widgetsmith. In the near future I will be putting out a video showing exactly how I made those. Until then come check out those widget apps and see what you can figure out for yourself.
Congratulations. This is definitely one of the best and most informative videos that I have seen in a long time. Regards from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (NOTE: I always add the name of the country because unfortunately, the number of persons that missed that class in world geography. Trust me! Take ten “intelligent” friends or colleagues and ask them to write down the answers to these questions: 1.) In which country is Brazil located? 2.) What is the capital city of Brazil. 3.) What is the official language that is spoken in Brazil. 4.) What is the population of Brazil? 5.) How many active cell phones are there in Brazil? Just for you: (3) 211,999,000, (4) 221,000,000. YES there is more than one cell phone per habitant in Brazil! I can almost garantee that 50% or less of your colleagues will score three or more correct answers. Cheers!
Thanks so much, Greg! 😊 I really appreciate the kind words, and it’s awesome to hear from someone all the way in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! 🌍 Your geography challenge is spot on-it’s surprising how much people don’t know about world facts these days. Great stuff. I finally understand stage manager.🎉
It was so badly explained by Apple, and it was compl;iocated by the fact they released it on the Computer as well (which really didn't need it)... Glad we got you sorted out!
Great video , thanks!! Any link to this beautiful wallpaper at the beginning ?
I’d like to know the app used for the custom widgets. I’ve seen a few but they are usually sub-par and still carry the app name under the widget image.
I used color widgets for the one seen in this video. I also like Widgetsmith. Color widgets has a lot of functionality in the free version. I should also say that I used Canva to build some of the images.
Thank You, I have recently subscribed. I am really learning a lot from you. I thought I knew but I didn’t! 😂 Mind Blown officially 🤯🙏🏾 Thank You again
Glad to have you on board! Keep an eye out for more tips.
This was a great video. Tons of information. I recently created a shortcut that opens You Tube and Notes in Split Screen. I used that to take detailed notes while watching this video
Fantastic!
Thank you so much for all the information that you share!!!
You are so welcome!

@@TheMacWhisperer Great I will definitely be on the look out and Thank You so much😀
Thank you for great information.
Our pleasure!
Hi, what app you used to create the widget that says work? Hello from Puerto Rico ❤
There are several that you can use. Many are paid, but most have a lot you can do in the free version. My favorites are WidgetSmith and Color Widgets, but I have also been playing around with Quike. The ones in this video were made with Color Widgets.
Your presentations are spot on! Thanks!
I really appreciate that! Any topics you'd like to see me cover in the future?
Wonderful video. It was great and I learned so much. I love my ipad!

I know I can make it smaller but that is still 9n the way
Great video, helped me a lot, thank you
Thanks a ton for your support! 🎉 We're so glad you're enjoying the content. Stay tuned for more Apple magic! 🍏✨
Awesome video. So easy to follow and understand. I learned a lot. Thanks !!! 😊

Bravo! You always do such a great job. Thanks again!!!
Thank you! Any specific tip or tool you learned that you'd like to share?
Hi Dylan
Which ipad pro to buy
One with 8gb or 16gb ram
It really depends on what you plan to do with it... The only way to get the 16GB is to go up to 1TB or 2TB which can make it a pretty expensive purchase. If it's a computer replacement and you will be doing video editing and photoshop level work you should get the 16GB... but if you are just going to use it to surf the web, answer emails and watch videos 8GB is plenty.
Great narration and super useful tips

Quality stuff ! 👍🏼
It takes one to know one.
What widget tool do you use to name each home page
I've used several, but the ones on this video were either made using Color Widgets or Widgetsmith. The free versions can give you a lot of options. I also used Canva to create some of the images. In the near future I will be making a UA-cam video showing how I did it.
Thank you so much for all these tips. I tried to find Stage Manager to add it to Control Panel but I can’t find it.
You’re so welcome, Rita! 😊 To add Stage Manager to Control Center, go to Settings > Control Center, then scroll down and tap the green "+" next to Stage Manager to add it. @@TheMacWhisperer still cannot find it 😔. I have an iPad Mini 6 with iOS 18.0.1. I followed your instructions and did a search but it came up with the message, “No results for Stage Manager.” I took a photo but no ability to send it here. No big deal. I’ve been playing with two screens already thanks to you.
I don't think the mini 6 does Stage manager... sorry.
The great tips, thanks a lot ❤

HELLO! New subscriber, great video, one question, how do you added the contactas on the left side of your ipad? I always love to see customization videos!❤
Just so that I'm clear, are you referring to the pinned contacts with their photos that I have on the left side of my screen, or something else? If you give me a timestamp in the video I can also look it up...
Really good vid, learnt a lot....

This was indeed a great and helpful video! Stage Manager intimidated me when it first came out so I just wouldn’t use it! 😂
Glad it was helpful! Now you know… and like GI Joe says, “knowing is half the battle” (I think I just showed my age there… 🤷♂️
helpful, and thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
@@TheMacWhisperer Thank you for the info! I have WidgetSmith.
....also, I just ordered an iPad Air 4.
How did you create the personalized Widgets?
I used a combination of Canva and awidget creating tools called Color Widgets. (I have also used Widget Smith in the past).
I didn't realize how much attention those widgets were going to get in this video, so I will be filming a video in the near future teaching people how to do it.
Good Morning. What are your thoughts on IPad 10th generation vs iPad Air ?
I think the Air is a better machine than the 10th, and can utilize the better Apple Pencil 2 (the Pencil 1 is useless)... but the 10 is cheaper (and you can still get the 9 which is even cheaper...), so it always come down to are you going to use the pencil, if yes... go Air. If not, go with the 10.
For the clock it said you were choosing light blue and looked light blue but then when you clicked Add it changed it to magenta. Is that a bug?
Not a bug, I did an edit on the video and I had changed the color to the magenta shade, but that change got cut. Good for you for recognizing the change. Just a video edit...
@@TheMacWhisperer ok good! Glad not a OS bug. Thanks!
What tool are you using to create the widgets?
The widgets were created using a combination of Canva and an ap called color widgets. If you want more info, please join us for one of out weekly live videos...
I have a Question, where do my scans go after I use the files apt?
23:49 cuuuute cat!
Thanks. I’ll tell her you think so! 🐈
Thanks for watching!
You asked for feedback; maybe this good video could have been 3 shorter videos instead of one reeeeeally long one. Thanks for doing these videos.
That's a great point... We are looking at ways to make the video shorter. Sometimes when I have a concept... I have to put the whole concept out at once rather than cutting it into small pieces. As I continue to make more and more videos, I'm learning better skills. Thank you for the feedback.
You forgot to mention that you can write using the apple pencil in any place you would otherwise type to have your writing switch to text
Great catch, Salina! 😊 You’re absolutely right-using the Apple Pencil to write anywhere and have it convert to text is an awesome feature! Thanks for pointing that out.
