New upgrade released for ALL 2018-2022 Honda Accord vehicles you want to buy

- Honda just announced that they will offer wireless CarPlay updates for all 2018 to 2022 Honda Accord vehicles. They will charge you $112 for the upgrade plus however long it takes to do the upgrade. So it will cost roughly $200 to convert your wired CarPlay to wireless. If you’re interested in this, simply make an appointment with your local dealership to have it done.

This is such a money grab, it should be a free upgrade. It's a feature that should have been standard in the car. I don't think anyone should pay 200.00 for this.

My 22’ Accord 2.0T Sport came with wireless CarPlay
Keep in mind this is not for the 2018-2020 LX models that didn’t come with the CarPlay features. It wasn’t till 2021 that the LX came with CarPlay. Any models 2021 and up that came with CarPlay and doesn’t have wireless can receive this “upgrade”. I have a 2018 Accord LX and I ended up having to just buy a module that works alongside my OEM radio. And that module has wireless CarPlay.

I think it's insane for them to charge for this. I bought a $45 AAWireless adapter and it works great. I would like to point out for anybody considering that route, it seems very phone dependent. I had the Pixel 7 Pro and the AA ui was randomly super laggy. More like there was a long delay when connecting and from button press to response. I just got a Oneplus 12 and now it works super slick and smooth, connects way faster and doesn't need 2 or 3 retrys to connect like the Pixel would randomly do. I suspect that was the Pixel's Tensor SOC and the OP12 has a Qualcomm snapdragon Gen 3, the industry gold standard. Probably more to do with better bluetooth, cell and wifi radios (those are separate chips outside the main processor and ram) and they can vary a lot from processor to processor.
I’m more concerned of the fuel pump defect if there is any on my ‘18. Called my local dealer and said parts not available till mid March so that’s much more important. Wireless CarPlay is ok but a price of $112 and extra labor is ridiculous. Someone is going to find a way to do this on our own. Yes, we can get 3rd party wireless CarPlay so I rather do that.

I just got the notice of the recall in the mail yesterday, and it said parts won’t be available until Fall 2024!
Set up an appointment to do this on the wife's car and the service writer and his manager were clueless. Said I'd have to leave the car and get a rental. Couldn't get out of there fast enough!

I'm hard-pass on it. I have a nice wireless motorolla one that works wirelessly but it lags too much if I try and stream music and use WAZE. Music is fine but waze stutters and it drives me nuts. I bought a different one for my daughters car and it works flawlessly but am just skipping it. I plug in my phone and don't care.
Yep, we’re used to it now (was never a big deal to me personally) and the wire charges at the proper speed simultaneously. No need to bring a potential lag factor into play for ~$200.

Yup thats how they get you send who says this will be a flawless system..my friends wireless charging in his pilot is garbage it barely charges his phones 10 % per hr .honda said its normal .

@@HondaJon Crud, the list of compatible cars says it only works with 2019-2020 RDX. I have the 2021. Should I gamble?! lol

In the video you said $40 for your dongle. You just sent me something that's 200 and change pretty much the same as me going to get it in the dealer. Is this good?
They have ones for $29.99 through the link. They all do the same function.

If you have the 1.5 Sport you won’t have wireless CarPlay. You have to connect the cable. 2.0 sport, touring are the ones that have wireless.

Is it possible to change non touch system to a factory touch screen updated wireless Audio if I pay this 200$ ? I checked with the honda service and they said they do not know..
You would need a whole new wiring harness. I don’t think it would be worth the final cost to be honest
My after market wireless car play just stopped working last night?
Once in awhile they’ll do that. Simply unplug it and try again. Sometimes you have to unpair it and repair

You can get it done. You just have to make an appointment. I don’t think it’s free. They are charging everyone for this update.
Only the unsold vehicles on their lots get the update for free.
How about pilots why only accord thats kind of useless upgrade when it comes to software ipgrade for 1 car when they all share the same software. I have a Motorola ma1 no lag works great 60 bucks .I had carlink it was garbage in my pilot I sent it back chinesiam dongle
