I'd say there will be a bootleg USB drive that will leak out and allow people to do it themselves. I think this is just a money grab for Honda, but ALL dealers do this.
@@BCautosolutionsback in 2020 when Toyota unveiled their vehicles, Apple CarPlay was standard then but Android auto was unavailable at the time but only became available from 2021 to the present and for people like myself with 2020 vehicles we got shafted, as we did no qualify for their software update for android auto and in my case I ended up getting an IPhone for the very first time after the Scout gps free trial ended after 3 years where I used to have my Samsung but due to a phone upgrade I ended up with IPhone thanks to not having android auto. So basically all I’m saying in relation to your post is all brands do this to make money off people with decisions like this. I will be doing a 5 year review in 2025.
@@alvinsimba734 I guess but I would not upgrade a vehicle just for wireless capabilities. For example the 24 tlx has wireless CarPlay and android auto. My 21 doesn’t my phone is always in need of charge anyways. I have no interest in that feature anyways.
@@jorgeranilla connectivity is awesome also no lag. Also when using maps, now I see the direction in the dash as well, before when using one of those aftermarket modules I would always seem to get disconnected and never really worked perfectly.

just purchased a 22 certified accord sport, will they have done this update on their own or would I have to ask for it? im picking it up later this week and didn't check that when I drove it
@@BCautosolutions thank you … this dealer is having trouble and is saying the CarPlay won’t update to the newest software and so they can’t sell the car certified … I’m going to try this and see if it works
I had my 2018 EX-L updated to today but it does not work. I can still use the wired connection but the use wireless check box does not show up so no wireless. Cleared the phone and went through the setup several times with no luck on the wireless connectivity. My dealer is going to contact Honda on Monday.
@@BCautosolutionsApparently Honda did not send all of the instructions or maybe they assumed the dealer knew they had to do the USB upgrade through the diagnostic screen. Once they had those instructions, the update took almost an hour but successfully completed. I had about a 2.5 hour drive home and the wireless CarPlay worked flawlessly.
I have wireless and don’t even use it. Wired much better especially in the sound department. Also the phone feels like about to explode when connected wireless
It is supported on ALL Accords that have WIRED Android Auto. The hardware is already there so It's just a software upgrade from Google to allow devices to connect wirelessly.
I don’t see benefit as wired Apple CarPlay can charge my phone simultaneously 😂 If I’m only into music, Bluetooth is also wireless; if I need navigation, that drains battery so quick that it’s best to wire and charge the phone lol.
On my 2020 Pilot, the car play outlet is low amperage and will only support slow charging. I'd prefer to have car play be wireless and plug into a high speed charger.
Would be nice if they made it available on the TLX if they can do it for the accords I don't see why it can't be implemented for the TLX. Perhaps the accords are a pilot for future upgrades on other models and trims

wondering if i cant afford the amsoil oil change which sounds like it would clean the engine so i may need another one soon after ..the signature amsoil has a long lifespan..is there a comparable additive for the oil that would do the same? this would be for a regular oil change and would i add it a few days before the oil change or in it for the next change.

It has 28k miles on so far and I watched ur other video to use premium fuel which I have been and topping off coolant etc. Anything other tips? Using eco mode all the time? It's mainly used for commute to work which is 30 miles there and back on a highway and I also live on warmer weather in FL
@@BCautosolutions original press release was 1/30, I had a customer schedule online that night, for it, for it and a fuel pump recall the following day, I had to call him as soon as, I got In that day, and I was like I'm sorry bro, but we don't have the fuel pump, or the ability to program your car for wireless carplay. We haven't received the equipment yet...needless to say, he was ticked. Honda is starting off 2024 kinda rough.

Once all these recall parts are available we will be swamped and people will be even more pissed. I understand the consumers frustration but yeah it’s frustrating from corporate to managers, to parts, techs, etc.

I bought it on the dream shop and purchase the installation as well. I got there and was turned away and told that they had never seen it or heard of it and kept asking me how I got the parts number for it. Do you know the process of this update is it some special tool that they need
@@rammyissa no problem. From what I understand parts has to download the file to a thumb drive, bill it, hand it to the tech, then we perform from there. When we get one I’ll have a better understanding of the procedure.
That’s cool I guess but it sounds like a response to the fuel pump impeller recall out put out in December for most Honda and Acura models 2017-2020. I have an ‘18 Accord LX which doesn’t have CarPlay from either Apple or Google. Would be nice to take it in for the replacement pump and a nice little software upgrade but noooo it needs to cost too.

For 2 I can’t name a product I own that runs software that charges for updates optional or not. No program on Windows, nor phone nor game console no matter large or small the feature added, it was added for free. I understand Honda needs to pay for a software licenses but that’s called the cost of doing business.

Does a factory reset on CarPlay on a 2022 Accord send the CarPlay back to wired only or will the wireless mode still remain ?

The fuel pump recall affects nearly the whole lineup, only the accord gets this offer. Your getting a free pump, why would an upgrade be free? 😅
