Absolute legend 😂
I call these connectors; quick connect/never disconnect! Good old rubber fuel line and hose clamps! NASA spent millions developing a ball point pen to write in zero gravity! Know what the Russians did? They used a pencil!
True
I am replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 Ford Explorer, and the quick disconnects are neither quick nor do they disconnect. Lots of rust under there. Thanks for the heads up, I will cut that fitting off and put on a fuel line and hose clamps. Perfect solution for a car that won't last a whole lot longer anyway!!
Dude, that car can last much longer then those modern fancy crap like BMW or Subaru
True!
I think he did it on a vent line connection, so that hose was not under much pressure like a line that carries fuel would be. I am seeing this a year from your comment, what did you end up doing and how did it work?
A Country Boy can survive!
Damn right
Privit from a possy Englishman,,,, I have the same problem, a leak from the fast connections above my Suzuki Jimny fuel tank. After watching this I have decided to cut an inspection hole and DIY new connections to the fuel lines, rather than drop the tank from underneath. Cheers for giving me the confidence to go ahead to do this... And hello to you from my Samara Russian wife also.
Just be careful
ide have used 2 hose clamps
also love the fire destinguisher
Excellent repair Sir!
Bravo 👏
Love you Ruskee bro! This was an excellent tutorial to fix my friggin ford fuel line. Spasiba!
Cool
Love you man. You’re literally saving me, I have the same truck!
Cool!
Yes, good info!
Be a mon und not a poosy!
Hellya
Great video. Don’t mind some of my US Brothers/sister’s comments. Not all of us can be badass.
Thanx
POOSIES!.....🤣🤣🤣 AH GOD I LUV IT!!!
This is exactly what I do with all those dang rust connects
In Russian accent: quick connector is like helmet for little boy.
Indeed?
Excellent
Crazy Rooski’s!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Love it and I’m going to do it to my van, shite push on connectors 👏
Yeeboooyyy
Yeah I like to braze my fuel lines together with Oxy Acetylene just to show dominance.
Then go for it, dude, what's the hold on
Currently having this issue with my explorer. Mechanic angrily broke fuel line because of corrosion on connectors. Can you tell me how long this worked. It's a point a to b vehicle and my children would be in it. Please respond!
Do it at your own risk
Y'all have Ford Explorers in Russia? That's awesome! Sounds like you got some lifter tick there.
We got tonns explorers. And lifters already fixed.
Oh my, this is great!!! You are so right about these trash fittings on any vehicle. Wait until you add some hard core rust and corrosion to these pos's. I wasn't aware that UA-cam was an allowable thing in Russia..... Glad to find your channel!
Haha good joke😁 putin still can't ban the internet😉
Yeah, just wasted several hours on a Wisconsin 1998 Explorer with I think an original fuel filter still on it. Near as I can figure the rust welded the clips on to the filter, and filter has crumbled now with a blizzard rolling in.... Yay.
Dont worry on your english. My russian would be 10 times worse. Great video !
I'm not, thanks
@@CoberRuger lol good. Nice video tho.
“Everything can happen to you, if you’re dumb.” Outstanding!...
Daddy always said, “Son, ya gotta be tough when’yr dumb!”
And it didn't help you. Anyways you grew pussy
I laughed very hard when I saw the angle grinder.
Cause it's not really angle 😉
Your awesome!
Outstanding!😂👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
We call that a cobjob in America, among other things. But hey, at least the guy has the fire distinguisher at the ready!
Cober job
dont change my man, you told em. good. DJ
Will do
I would of liked to see you do all the fuel lines
no way dude)
FuEl LiNeS ArE DaNgErOuS - YoU CaNt Do ThIs!!! hahahaahaha
Yeeee boiiiiy
Better to push hose past the ring bump thingy then clamp behind ring bump thingy. Never "popov"
(pop off) that way
Impossible. Too tight.
The flare
The same poosy that thought these "quick" disconnects were a good idea probably thought that not putting
an access port in the floor so that you can get to the fuel pump was a good idea.
Definitely
They expect you to lower the fuel tank from below. I personally would prefer to have a service access panel.
Ford actually did have some stupid engineers working for them....I get the safety thing....but look up the RABS brake issues and dual tank cross over issues....not smart! Thanks for this video.
Appreciated
great!
The fuel pump in my Chevy Astro is plastic the connections are plastic do you think it would be OK to use this method to plastic and rubber hose????
Why not, mr. BOND?😁
It is a great approach and the film. I've heard though that the access panel should be air tight, if not the exhaust fumes can penetrate to the salon of the car. Not everyone who is cutting those access panels is aware of it. I think it would be hard to make the air tight fitting on that cut off hole and the lid. More work to drop a tank, but probably not much for people who can work on fuel lines.
and some people like to smoke while they drive and not explode like a scene from casino!
Is this guy serious??
Dead serious
I like to weld my fuel lines together btw
Run exhaust into it an weld away. Saw that done once
Or fill it right up so there’s no fumes that’ll light up
Full disclaimer don’t take my advise
In mother Russia fuel pumps change themselves.
Previt from TN USA
hi
Good perfect
Perfect good
I love Russian mamasitas.. good video g
🤘
Russian engineering isn’t pretty but it works! No one is a pragmatic as a Russian with a problem to solve 😂 My fuel line fitting is rusted on there, how do I remove and repair it?
Russian Mechanic: You cut it off with a grinder and throw it into the grass! Then use a $0.30 hose clamp and you’re done!👍🏾
Yap, exactly 💯
Always makes me laugh when people think hose clamps or metal lines are a problem when every car before sometime around 2000 used them and lasted decades. Everything can happen to you if you're dumb indeed!
Cause you are too dumb to understand that you can stuck with this crap and no tools in the middle of nowhere.
Good
The minute that grinder came out, I thought.. dat man is not pooosie! I’m assuming he edited out the ensuing fire.
Yep dummy
Did this guy have a head wound?
I dont know about them gear type clamps, they rust even faster than quick disconnects and they undo themselves, especially with the car vibration.
You need to place another clamp behind the flare that stopped the rubber hose. After that you can use any type of wire to wrap around the hose clamp screws. That way, the pressure in the line will not push the rubber hose away. Redo the video without the bad words and add that extra hose clamp. That way, you will sound wiser
no, this video for whiners from fordexplorer forum and I am not gonna change it
@@CoberRugerYou do not have to change it. But you can also post a cleaner generic version (that does not mention any car name) if you want to. I suggested wrapping up the screws from two hose clamps (one on each side of the flare). The wire wrap will prevent the screws from rotating and becoming loose easily. You can also add two additional hose clamps with the screws facing down (left and right of the flare ) Once again, you will need to wrap thin wire around the screws. Doing that will secure the connection for years. And if the connection with the extra screws fails, it will leak slowly instead popping out and gushing gasoline. But I must tell you that your video helped me realize that an "easy-connect" can be replaced by a normal time consuming connection that is secure. Thank you for responding!
ok, thanks
Cool!
Without a doubt,Generator because one won't have enough time to put out that fire,
A high pressure fuel line hose WILL blow off unless two worm drive clamps are used AND they are wired together to prevent it.The ethanol in the gas will deteriorate and swell up in about a year....Maybe they don't use Cattle stock corn in Russia to make gas like the scam we have going in USA
ALSO one MUST NOT use regular fuel line hose,it's only good for about 10 PSi WHEN NEW
I would have to assume that you used a grinder/cutter to open the floor under the back seat?..big sparks!
Boris Badenovs's rusky riggin's.
Why didn't you put some gasket sealer or form a gasket stuff on the connections before clamping? Wouldn't that make a better seal? If it ever had to be disconnected again the connecting hose could just be cut off completely and redone. With old vehicle odds are it will never be taken apart again anyway.
I hope you kidding
@@CoberRuger Serious question, why would you say I was kidding?
Lmao!...🤣🤣🤣
But if you have plastic tubes you can't get rid of these 😁😁😁 like pathfinder r51 2007 4.0 onwards
Then get rid of Pathfinder😁😉
@@CoberRuger hahaha those hoses plastic or whatever I feel it much more better than rubber hoses that wear 👍👍👍
Cautious , never use a grinder on a fuel lines
" Sparks "😳💥⚰️
💪😉
Boooom 💥
Don’t be pooosie!
This is why the aliens bypassed Russia. hose clamp Borris.
And you could't attack area 51, wussies
@@CoberRuger 🤣🤣🤣
To many guys in usa made us all look bad. There are alot more of us real men here then u get to see. We spend more time under the hood then we do online. I use my cutting torch next to the gas tank, i dont give a shit. And there many of us. Welding without gloves, and honestly it boils down to that. Are u willing to weld without gloves? U only see those who dont know what there doing on here looking for answers and making stupid comments about safety
Yeah sure, weld without gloves if you want skin cancer all over ur hands...there's tough, then there's plain dumb.
Ok,now iam about 85% stoned right now,but I think that's the first time I heard of "leakages" is that even a real word or am I trippin?
Dude you trippin
and this is called Russian engineering!!
kinda, but it works)
better than paying in my case audi 80£ for replacement line
@@CoberRuger top man just save me 80£
In Russia anything goes with car repairs. In the US doing a repair like this and having any accident opens the mechanic up to potentially frivolous lawsuits should the vehicle be involved with any accident based on the mechanics work. I find it amazing this guy used a disc grinder right next to the inlet ports to the fuel tank and didnt blow himself up
