I am in shock I can't believe it.... you may be one of the only people on YT that can do it all and do it well... use a cam properly.... use good lighting.... show relevant parts... speak smoothly and intelligently... know what you are talking about, not say ah, um every second word with long pauses in between... the headline matches the topic... and possibly most important of all you don't tell stories for the first 12 minutes about 2-3-4 other things that have nothing to do with the topic of the video before getting on with it
CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE A YT STAR! imho! honestly I am stunned when I find a well done video!

Just to add to this. Anyone trying this for the first time , expect it to take awhile , most don’t pop off that easy . Also , the white set quick disconnects that he’s using are wayyyy better than the metal universal and multicolored set . Great vid man , well explained

Good to hear "this takes time, understanding and patience". I am on my 2nd week of trying to remove the low pressure fuel line using fingers by depressing the 2 black buttons as you force the metal line against the HPFP than try and "pull it off". Finally quit and ordered pliers made for this particular task as well as "the wrap around metal button depresser" but many reviews state the wrap around fails to adequately depress the black plastic buttons.

I cant comment on a Buick because I have not been exposed to one.
What I do know from working on other cars is that the oil rings are found in the fuel injector heads.
You have the fuel line which uses the fuel release tools on this video and then the fuel line feeds the fuel rail with the fuel injectors feeding the combustion chambers.
      Hope it helps.

I did this with a an old credit card, a zip tie, a lighter, a tire pressure gauge, and a 9mm box wrench.
    1. cut the credit card cut down to a 3cm by 2cm rectangle.
    2. wrap the rectangle around the tire pressure gauge and use the lighter to give it a circular shape.
    3. wrap the warped rectangle where the tool would go.
    4. tighten the card flush around the metal with the zip tie.
    5. use the wrench to push the credit car in.

    Hey I fixed mine!:
'96 Buick Century dripping quick connect fuel line-bad o rings.
I was able to disconnect the line using the right size push in nylon disconnect collar sleeve auto stores sell for this.
Then I used needle nose pliars to remove the 4 fingers metal connect cage by rolling it and lifting out.
Then I removed the first black plastic spacer sleeve by prying with a small screw driver.
Then pry out the first o ring, then the yellow plastic spacer sleeve, then the second o ring.
I then found my 1/4" socket extension fat end was the right size to tap everything back in place using a light hammer in the same order noting the black spacer sleeve has a wide end top stop.
I replaced the worn o rings with black plumbing o rings # 2-012 3/8" id x 1/2" od that I had in my supplies.
Paying it forward here, hope it helps you.

Tried your recommendation of inserting the quick disconnect tool and than turning back and forth the hose while holding the tool from turning and it came apart easily

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram Pickup with the 5.7 hemi and the line that couples to the fuel rail will NOT loosen up and come off even after buying different tools both plastic and metal , Can you cut the line above the coupler and put a high pressure hose where you cut ?

Have you tried pushing it on further or rotating the connections? I'd be hesitant using a gear clamp connection and there isn't a hose barb, so you can risk the link sliding off under pressure.

I don't have that tool that you are using. I do however have the gearwrench 41500/ WILL any of those parts in that kit do? none look to me like the one you are using.

I am looking for a DIY mechanic that has a typical low pressure fuel pump line entering the HPFP but has 2 depressable black buttons that can be depressed by: 1. your fingers 2. a special blunt tipped pair of pliers or 3. the circular tool that wraps the metal fuel line and depresses the release buttons when closed - so you can remove the metal fuel line from the short metal entry tube into the HPFP.
I have tried several times as the you tube videos suggest "no tool required" but I finally stopped trying and purchased pliers (than soft tipped the plier ends) and the circular tool is coming UPS for $37.00 but many reviews of the circular tool indicate it is not properly made so fails to depress the buttons for release of the low pressure fuel line into the HPFP: Working on A 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman S with the N18 Engine.

When the engine is off is there still pressure in the pump side of the line or do they all come off dry

You can also use a small alligator clamp, open the clamp wrap it around the hose, slide down and push into clip releasing the teeth. fast and easy! Good luck!

Mine was rotten so it broke right off no special tool it now needs 2 new short pieces of fuel lines
So i can crimp one end of the line from the gas tank and the other line crimped to the fuel line from the engine once i cut the old line pieces off
Only other way i can hook it all back up is that way or use brake line connectors and flare the gas line if it'll work and not leak gas

On my ZX 14 I was putting it back together and noticed an o ring that had ripped in half..can I just replace the o ring or need a new line

Yes you can, take the o-ring to a hydraulic supplier and they'll match it up for you.

do you happen to have the Viton oring size for this style fitting... my orings are bad and I cannot find one..thanks in advance for your input

+C.P. Frazier Unfortunately I do no. Do you have the old o-ring??? Or you maybe able to take the fuel line fitting in, even measure the outside diameter of the line it fits over with a vernier and talk to a hydraulics supplier. That's normally where I purchased all my o-rings from. They have a tapered gauge to measure the o-rings as well.

I just finished replacing the pump on my 04 Silverado in my driveway. It has 300k (KM) The pump still worked, but rusted out and had a huge hole. Strong gas smell whenever I parked it.
What a nightmare! The lock ring was fused to the pump from rust. Also rotten was the metal quick connect shown here, part of the metal line on the frame near the tank, and the tank straps.
Runs a bit better now and no more codes! Have a good one :)

So how do o get to the line that is right behind the engine by the transmission with out removing the transmission

    • @4DIYers
      @4DIYers 3 роки тому +1

Have you tried from both the top and bottom? I haven't worked on one, but another option maybe loosening the cross member of the transmission and dropping it down slightly, should have enough flex in the engine mounts.
