@Jessa-yk7se I got you! To threaten her with killing the guy he had the app open. And since she had her phone, she could get to her followers quickly. OK , that makes it a little more believable. I still think her entourage would not leave her alone with a strange man with a murderer on the loose. Lol I appreciate your comment!

@@midwesternmoviereviewer I enjoyed this movie, by josh Hartnett's acting. The film does not focus on Cooper's daily life. In the first minutes before knowing the trap, act normally then when the game of cat and mouse begins, like a psychopath, he enjoys the situation and gives it that ironic or sarcastic when the serial killer behaves strangely pretending to be good guy, this is intentional by the director, remembers that his profile is that he does not panics easily When he grabs the girl who is fainting, he is completely normal and charming (that's how he is in his normal life). Some parts are explained, such as the physical characteristics of the suspects from a security video near one of the streets where a body had been left ( cooper listen woki toki). 4 or 5 different types of men, one with his description 40 year old white man with a tattoo of animal on his hand. One of my favorite scenes was Josh with Alison really so good. my shaymalan pronunciation is worse 😀
@Jessa-yk7se 😆 that part of Josh Hartnett using his charm to get around the arena and his interaction with his wife at the dinner table were my favorite parts. They seemed very realistic, and his acting was really good. I hope he continues to act in more movies. It seems like he took a break for several years. 🤔
I enjoyed the movie. What I liked was Josh Hartnett and his great performance. He can be cool, calm and collect. Plus, being creepy. His daughter Riley was good. The chemistry between dad and daughter worked for me. I thought there was thrills and excitement throughout the movie. The concert scenes were fun. What I didn't like was it is predictable with a little bit of surprises. I do have to say that it is more of a gripe because I had fun watching this movie. M. Night using his daughter as the singer waa fine, but the problem is that they use her more than they needed to be. Some scenes dragged so badly, it hurts the pacing of it.
@JohnFranklinMovieReviewer I agree that Josh Hartnett's performance and Riley, Ariel Donoghue's, were good. If I hadn't had to ignore so many things to go with the story, I would have enjoyed it more. Going in, I was excited to see it.... I didn't see that M Knight was indulging his daughter until I was watching other reviews today where that was pointed out. 😬
@@midwesternmoviereviewer I do see your point about all the plot holes, but I was so entertained with it, it never bothered me. I can't remember his daughter name, but I would have enjoyed her a little bit better if she just sung.
Definitely-underrated. I feel people who are calling it just a “nepo vehicle” are being dishonest. They just don’t want to admit that Saleka IS talented enough to warrant such a long concert sequence.
@JosephSchwarzkopf-m9k I enjoyed the concert, I just wanted more suspense for the serial killer theme. Suleka is very talented, no complaint about the musical performance.
@@JosephSchwarzkopf-m9k I don't believe that everyone who dislikes this movie is because of M. Night's daughter. I believe that they wanted more from their M. Night movie than what they got. I had my problems with the movie, but overall I gave it a positive review.
This movie was ASS at best! If it was meant to be a comedy, it succeeded brilliantly. This was a passion project of the director for his daughter because the movie was built around coincidences and no proper narrative. I mean, seriously, that ending... WHAHAHAHAHA hilarious... I miss the Josh Hartnett from '30 Days of Night' and 'Penny Dreadful'. This movie was terrible on all fronts. By also letting us know from the jump who the "bad guy" was, it took out a lot of the steam for people even wanting to watch. M. Night Shyamalan is brilliant but often inconsistent-great sometimes and really bad when bad. I'd give it an MMR 4 outta 10. Keep flippin' them gears, SIS!
@deamonghod Yassss! This was one of his worst movies! M. Night! Nooooo! If you do like "M. Night movies, there's one he produced. A slow burn but great ending called Caddo Lake. I think it's streaming on Max 👌
Yeah, his movies truly are escapes from reality, more than most other directors. I really-respect the way that he shamelessly promoted his daughter and her musical talent with Trap. No one can honestly say that this is ALL 100% nepotism. She DOES have singing talent. This movie just brought a lot more publicity to what has already been there for a few years now.
I agree with all of your points and found the movie just as frustrating and unbelievable in so many ways. At one point I even said out loud (not on purpose) "oh come on now" in how he got out of limo and propped up some gear to fool everyone. The pacing during the concert scenes felt off and things only started to improve (marginally) once they finally left. I agree, there was little suspense or feelings of someone being in danger until the scene with his wife. I thought he was going to kill Jody’s mother. Now that would have been at least a bit interesting.
@Temple_Settings Me too! If he had attacked someone besides the cop it would've seemed slightly dangerous. At times he seemed dumb, like why would you tell the singer you are the butcher while she is surrounded by people who could rescue her? What if she didn't care about the stranger in the room and called his bluff? 🤦🏽♀️ thanks for your comment!
It was alright. Once it got to the limp part it took a nose dive for me. Also the killer being revealed so easily I didn’t like that. The house scenes it only got worse from there.
